Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me and the matter has been resolved.

ThingCharger is a 100% scam company. They sell via smoke/mirrors. I purchased 7 units and none work. I was told that if I returned the units they would be refunded minus 25% due to restocking and testing. I even upgraded after purchase to double the power and add surge protection. I tried to speak to them via email and was told that only new units would be returned for full. It is impossible to return new units as you needed to register the unit by opening up the packaging. The time it took to deliver is grounds alone to not trust them, however, when they did arrive they did not work as promised. The "tips" won't hold in place and recess into the unit, the only way to have them work is to remove the unit from the wall and disconnect the tip, then place into the unit being charged and return the charger to the socket. I gave up when I was repeatedly told to return for a reduced refund (email correspondence available upon request) yet email continued telling me of the representatives success. Success? Sure, you are the scammer helping "run" the company. I am looking for a partial refund (at the very least for the amount I upgraded after purchase) as sending back units and having a 25% value sent back to me (if they can be trusted to actually do that) is unacceptable.

During the time frame of this transaction thingCHARGER was
still a crowdfunding project and not accepting direct orders. The confirmation
email that she received was confirming the perk package that was selected. thingCHARGER has customer support agents returning phone
calls and responding to...

email inquiries. We received our first email
communication from her on the [redacted] of December and responded on the
same day. She was offered an upgrade to stick with the campaign until the New
Year. Ultimately she requested a refund and one was processed on the [redacted] of December. It’s unfortunate when we hear of confusion about our
crowdfunding campaign. We do provide information about our campaign on the home
page of the website, in our FAQs, in the video that auto plays and a disclaimer
is listed in the shopping cart.

To Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and the matter has been resolved.HOWEVER, it took two weeks, nine emails, a complaint here, and seven comments on social media to finally get this business to respond to my refund demand. This business is actively selling and advertising on their website [redacted]) and there is nothing on the site about "crowdfunding" or long delays in shipment. (Comments on [redacted] indicate that others are unaware of this company's fulfillment problems too. One woman has been waiting since last March!) For them to pretend that I was aware of their long fulfillment time is WRONG.
Sincerely,
[redacted]

When this individual contacted us on January [redacted], we returned their email the same day. They verified their shipping information the next day and their package was shipped immediately. We normally expect that supporters that contributed to our campaign early were fully aware of our...

crowdfunding status, but occassionally they are not. With crowdfunding, many people contribute a small amount of money toward a great idea. The inventors take that money and turn it into a fantastic product, which we can then ship to the amazing people who supported us. We are so excited to be a successful crowdfunding campaign that is shipping as quickly as we can to our earliest supporters. We are shipping in the order in which we received contributions to honor our earliest supporters for the patience and their incredible support. It looks like this individuals package was delivered on January [redacted]. We hope they are truly enjoying cordless charging, but if they have any further concerns, we encourage them to contact us at [redacted]

BUYER BEWARE - my new motto after this experience.
I placed an order for Thingcharger in September 2015. I saw that they were crowd funding but was under the impression that they were already making and shipping them. It was not clear nor did I know that it would be months for me to receive them. It was only after several weeks of not hearing anything that I found out they actually weren't shipping yet. It took over five months to get my order. When I received it, there were shipping costs that had not been clearly identified when I ordered - I paid almost as much for shipping as for the devices and was not happy - I would never have ordered if I'd known.
Nonetheless I was happy to get them. Only after opening them did I find they only came with a micro USB tip, and not the [redacted] device tip - even though all photos of the device included two tips. I tried to contact customer service. They told me that when I ordered the deal was different than it is now. I tried to get clear info about a promised 'free adapter tip' (for registering the device) that was in each box - and kept getting a reply that held no clear information - it talked about an upcoming campaign. I finally had to bluntly ask for an answer to my question - which they did finally answer by saying I would be getting nothing free.
I decided to go ahead and order four Apple tips, since the devices are useless to me without them. Before ordering I sent one more email to customer service to ask about the free tip offer (if they were sending me free tips for registering, I wouldn't spend the money). I got the most ridiculous reply from Catherine saying she's thrilled that I'm happy with the device (I am not - I can't even use it) - then saying she's got some exciting promotion coming up but can't tell me more.
I replied expressing frustration that she did not answer my question, and got the exact same (copy/pasted) reply from Angela - it is truly the most abysmal customer service I have ever seen ... ever.
I did order the tips I need - and of course am paying through the nose for them plus shipping - but otherwise I have 4 boxes of expensive junk sitting around my house - truly disappointing!
(PS I would be returning them, but understand there's a $25 re-stocking fee per device - I will not be giving them any more of my money - and will be telling my friends and family to steer clear.)

This individual contacted us seeking information on their package in December. At that point we explained our crowdfunding status and tried to make them comfortable with waiting until the new year to receive their package. They did not reply to that message otherwise, so we moved forward. On...

February *, the same day that they contacted the Revdex.com, they contacted us . At that time we asked them to confirm their shipping information, however they were not comfortable with that process and asked for an immediate refund. We have emailed them confirming that we have processed a refund of their full contribution, and those funds will be returned to their account by their credit card company. We are very sorry that we were unable to assist this individual in feeling comfortable with our shipping confirmation process. However, we are happy to issue them a refund and hope that this resolves their concerns.

I spoke with the customer this morning.Evidently the confirmation email had gotten caught up somewhere in spam or something. We shipped her package today via [redacted] and delivery is expected Thursday or Friday of this week in Mandeville, LA.Thank you both to her and to the Revdex.com for helping us clear...

this up immediately.

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

They did not respond to my initial email inquiry in December 2015.  They say that they did, but I never received a response until I filed this Revdex.com complaint.  I have not received the products yet although they are apparently on the way.  I do not want to have this issue closed until the items are received to my satisfaction.
Thank you!

At the time of this writing thingCHARGER is still a crowdfunding campaign. We have been shipping our beautiful product since September and continue to ship as fast as we can.It seems that perhaps you did not realize this, and we apologize. I would love to make this right. Please check your email for...

a message from us asking you to confirm your shipping information.Below is a little information about crowdfunding:Crowdfunding is a platform where inventors can launch a new product by asking for the funds upfront. Once we have your thingCHARGER made we send an email asking to confirm your shipping details so we can send you a thank-you gift of thingCHARGERs for your generous support.

I do not care if you have improved or added an adjustable tip. What I do care is why your website is so misleading when go on. Again, you do not say "GET YOURS" if this is a contribution or crowdfunding. When you say "GET YOURS", I expect to click on it and GET MINE right away, not waiting to see whether you can fulfill it or not. And on the final page it is submit this order, NO, giving money to a crowdfunding project is not submit an order, it's submit my CONTRIBUTION.Your website is too misleading and the wording makes it false advertising. I want my money back and this ORDER to be canceled.

product in September and continue to ship as quickly as we can.It seems that the individual did not realize this and we apologize for the confusion. We have issued this individual a refund.
