Hi, This is [redacted]  I.D. [redacted].  Not sure my response went thru. I accidentally sent Southern Living my utilities check for 167.17. They deposited it. I had my bank send them copy of where they deposited it. They have all the info and fax of the check they deposited in august of 2014. The check was made out to southwest electric co-op. They have told me numerous times that they have  all the info and copy of check and that accounts payable will send back my money. Their position that I should contact my financial institution is ridiculous, I accidentally sent them 167.17 and they will not give it back. They deposited a check made out to someone else, should be against the law. thanks  [redacted]

Dear Revdex.com Mediation Department:Thank you for forwarding [redacted]'s concerns regarding SPORTS ILLUSTRATED, a Time Inc. publication.  I appreciate this opportunity to be of assistance.First of all, I would like to apologize to [redacted] for any inconvenience he may have experienced. ...

According to our customer transaction records, [redacted] accepted the special promotion for SPORTS ILLUSTRATED on August **, 2014 when a purchase was made at a Finish Line store.  Once a purchase is made at Finish Line, a Finish Line clerk provides the customer with a brochure describing the benefits of the automatic renewal program and offers the customer 3 months risk free of Sports Illustrated Magazine.  At checkout, the customer must sign the electronic signature pad that states he or she understands that their credit card/debit card and billing information will be sent to SPORTS ILLUSTRATED and that the magazine subscription will then automatically renew.   We also send a reminder notice to customers soon after an order is received explaining the program again.  Both the brochure and the reminder notice list a toll-free number for any cancellations.  The toll-free number is also listed on the credit card/debit card statement that includes the subscription charge.  Please note that customers are given an opportunity to cancel this subscription at any time.  Indeed, an 800 number is included in the customer’s credit card/debit card statement for that purpose. Our records confirm that the SPORTS ILLUSTRATED Magazine subscription was cancelled on November **, 2014, after 16 issues were served.  In addition, a full refund of $49.95 was immediately issued back to [redacted].  For your records, attached is a copy of the customer's electronic signature from Finish Line.Sincerely,[redacted]?

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

Please keep my complaint open until I receive my full refund from Time, Inc. regarding ALL YOU magazine.  Time, Inc. owes me a refund for 6 months worth of the magazine (which I had originally left on my subscription), PLUS my 1 year "2 for 1" magazine renewal.  That is a total of 18 months worth of ALL YOU magazine that needs to be refunded.I will email you when I receive the refund.  Thank you.

Revdex.com:My money was refunded.  I was not aware of their new policy of automatic renewals.  I have been a long time subscriber to People Magazine and have renewed in the past without it being an automatic renewal.  I think this was a deceptive practice to add automatic renewal to a standard renewal.  I believe this was done surreptitiously.  The automatic renewal was hidden in the renewal form.  I am satisfied that my money was refunded.  I am not satisfied with this way of doing business.  They lost one subscriber with this practice.I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me and the matter has been resolved.

Dear Revdex.com Mediation Department:Thank you for forwarding [redacted]'s concerns regarding SPORTS ILLUSTRATED, a Time Inc. publication.  I appreciate this opportunity to be of assistance.According to our records, we processed a 56-issue order of SPORTS ILLUSTRATED magazine for [redacted]...

[redacted] on May 26, 2016 through a unique partnership with [redacted].  According to [redacted], the promotional magazine subscription was included at no additional cost to [redacted] when she made a purchase on [redacted] on May **, 2016.  In any event, we have cancelled the magazine subscription. We certainly apologize to [redacted] for any inconvenience she may have experienced.  If she has additional questions regarding the promotional offer, we suggest [redacted] contact [redacted] directly at ###-###-####.Sincerely, Betsy L[redacted], Time Inc.

Dear Revdex.com Mediation Department:Attached is a sample of the promotion [redacted] responded to; the offer included 54 issues of PEOPLE Magazine and 3 deluxe gift boxes.  To date [redacted] has received 51 of the 53 issues.  [redacted] also received two of the three gift boxes; a refund of $33 was mailed to her as compensation for the third box not sent due to cancellation of the promotion.  [redacted] also received a $10 refund to replace the $10 voucher she did not wish to use and as she noted, she "[redacted]".Again we would like to apologize to [redacted] for any inconvenience she may have experienced.  Time Inc.'s use of promotions, like all of its advertising, is always conducted ethically and honestly.  We have no interest whatsoever in deceiving existing or potential customer with whom we hope to be building a long term relationship.  We believe all the actions we have taken should resolve this matter to [redacted]'s satisfaction.  Sincerely,Betsy L[redacted], Time Inc.

Dear Revdex.com Mediation Department:Thank you for forwarding [redacted]'s concerns regarding COOKING LIGHT, a Time Inc. publication.  I appreciate this opportunity to be of assistance.First of all, I would like to apologize to [redacted] for any inconvenience she may have experienced.  I have...

checked our records and found that the order was placed in response to a renewal offer (sample attached) on July **, 2013, which was part of an automatic renewal program.  Customers are informed of the terms of the offer when they respond to the promotion.  Under the terms of the program, the subscription would continue unless we are notified to cancel.  Consumers are never under any obligation to renew and may cancel at any time.  In fact, a reminder is sent to consumers several weeks prior to renewal in order to give them an opportunity to cancel the subscription before their account is charged or billed.  As stated in the promotion, the subscription would be renewed unless we received notification to cancel.  Therefore, the COOKING LIGHT subscription renewed on September 9, 2015 for $24. In any event, we have cancelled the COOKING LIGHT subscription including further billing efforts.  In addition, we have added [redacted] to our Do Not Promote list.If you have any questions or need further assistance, please feel free to contact me directly.Sincerely,Betsy L[redacted], Time Inc.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:I will need to see the refund before I respond.  My hope is that People magazine  will treat customers better so this doesn't have to go so far.  I'll need the refund date and amount.  Thank you.
