Tri-State was great to work with We were contacted after submitting a water quality test via post that we had picked up in the local *** *** We had to reschedule a few times (our mistakes, not theirs), and they were always courteous and happy to do so Joe was the associate that came into the home to do a water quality test, and he was very helpful and patient with our questions Jeff installed the water softening system and a second water heater quickly, explaining how to operate both before leaving I would call Tri-State again if any plumbing work is needed
very nice staff and service was on timequality of work was great
We have sent a gift card to the customer as promised, and apologize for any inconveniences this has caused As well, a manager has spoken with our service department to assure that any issues concerning gift cards are addressed to the correct individual so that future issues can be avoided

After posting on the Revdex.com I finally received the an electronic email with the gift card as promisedI know it was due to my Revdex.com post because the company originally had my wifes email address but the gift card was sent to my address used in the Revdex.com complaintI guess the other posts on Revdex.com were right!!
Eric was very friendly and efficient and did a great job
Tri State was clear on what it was going to do and did it They informed me of when the installer was to arrive and sent an email with a picture of the installer *** Dcalled me with his estimated time of arrival and arrived at that time He informed me of all he was going to do ahead of time and an up to date quote with additional work that affected the price due to out dated fittings and compliance with city and county codesHe was professional in his work and his working with the customer He also noticed I was a veteran and called into his home office to apply for a discount It was a pleasure doing business with Tri State and ***
Excellent service call Representative was very knowledgeable and conscientious Very happy with this company and the employee
We had an issue with a technician and Tri- State Water sent out another personWe couldnt be more pleased with Mike W knowledge and professional demeanor He took the time to educate us on the water softener system, locate the area of the home that was not on the system and made sure all the test were performed properly I commend Tri State water for taking a sticking situation and making it a positive That is what excellent service is about and they get an A+ from us on delivering top notch customer service
Eric *** just left my house after installing a sink waste disposer I could not have ask for a simpler, more efficient operation than having Tri-State Water and Eric involved in meeting my needsBought the unit from *** *** and decided to let the pro's do the install Tri-State called the same day to set up an appointment and we arrange to do the install hours later Eric arrived on time, did his work in a very professional manner and cleaned up everything used and or disposed of during his workI will definitely use Tri-State and Eric again in the future Gregg ***

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2014/11/12) */
Tri-State Water Treatment, Incinstalled a whole home rainsoft water treatment system (AQ) and a drinking water filtration system (RO) on May 17, The customers have always had regular routine service completed on their system and
Tri-State had not received any negative feedback or made aware of any problems until 2013, ten years after the system was installedWe received a call from the customers in May of Tri-State sent a service tech to the customers' home on May 6, The service order indicates that the drain line was functioning properly
Tri-State sent a service tech to the customers' home on November 6, to assess the situation after receiving this complaint from the Revdex.comThe service tech went into the crawl space of their homeHis report indicated that there was sufficient drain line from the system to the outside of the homeI have included several pictures taken by the service techHe found several copper water lines that had been cut under the house that were unrelated to the water treatment system, but could have also been a source of a leakAs well, there was also new pvc pipe that had been installed, also unrelated to the water treatment systemAdditionally, it was apparent that there had been some updates to the plumbing and a leak could have come from one of several other sourcesAnother possible situation is that when these new pipes were added, the water treatment system drain line was inadvertently not reconnected
The air conditioning unit that was outside has lines that come through the same area where Tri-State's drain line was locatedThe AC unit's lines had been cut and could have also lead to the water system's lines becoming looseAs well, the service tech noted that there were vents to the crawl space which could have allowed for rain water to enter the crawl space also leading to the mold
Tri-State's position is that years is far too long to pass by before indicating this type of problem and there is no proof that this problem was the result of Tri-State's negligenceIn fact, this problem could be the result of several different scenariosIf Tri-State had found sufficient evidence to indicate that this was in fact their fault, they would be willing to help rectify the situation
The tech that was sent to assess the situation believes that the system was installed correctlyIt is and has always been Tri-State's procedure to properly install all necessary drain linesWe find no evidence suggesting that this could be caused by Tri-State's negligenceWith that said, these customers have been loyal customers of Tri-States for years and Tri-State would like to make a gesture of good faith by offering years of free filters and a check in the amount of $
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 7, 2014/11/15) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
After reviewing Tri-State's response to our complaints of an improperly installed drain line, I feel I need to be more thorough in explaining what lead up to the discovery of the drain lineEarly in 2013, we started a small remodeling project that entailed exposing the inside of some exterior walls in our home, as well as removing the old baseboard heating system that was no longer usedThis original heating system was a hot water type system in which water is heated and pumped through copper tubing into baseboards installed in each roomIt was during the process of removing this system that I was required to be in the crawl spaceDuring one of the times in the crawl space I heard water running and quickly noticed (for the first time) the black drain hose releasing water under the houseAfter examining the situation, I assumed the hose was supposed to be plumbed to the outside of the crawlspace, but upon reaching the hose, I found it had to be stretched very tight to even reach the blocks of the foundation, and there was no existing hole for it to have been stuck through in the event it would have reachedMy conclusion was that the pipe had been placed on the edge of the plastic that covers the ground under the entire crawlspace, and left to drain on the inside of the crawlspaceI immediately noticed what looked like a black fuzzy film on the inside sill plate and floor joists, as well as very damp soil under the edge of the plasticTo remedy the situation to the best of my ability at the time, I drilled a hole through the outer support board to the outside of the house next to an air conditioning line, and was able to feed a garden through itThat enabled me to attach it to the drain hose, which would pipe the water to the outside and away from the houseThis temporary repair was later documented by a Tri-State technician in May of during his inspectionI also propped all of the crawlspace vents open in hopes the increased airflow would help dry out the moistureThe cut off pipes that the technician made mention of upon his inspection last week, were from the old baseboards that I drained into a bucket and removed from the crawlspaceThere have been no updates or changes to any plumbing in the last ten years, and to my knowledge there has never been a plumbing leak of any kind in the spaceAfter doing some research on mold and the health problems associated with it, we hired ***, a hazardous material removal and clean up company to come and survey the problem***'s technician did an investigation, took pictures and sent us a detailed report of the procedures needed to remove the mold from the crawlspace and prevent it from coming backI believe Tri-State has been given a copy of that reportI can fully understand Tri-States stance that years is too long to let a problem go unspoken, however, due to the nature of where the problem was, and the fact that since the initial purchase of the house in there have been very few times I was ever in the crawlspace, and never had I been in the area where the drain pipe was until I happened to hear it draining that particular dayWe in no way want to compromise the future or the business of Tri-State, or their employeesI truly feel they are a very reputable company with loyal, hardworking employees that rely on a paycheck to support their familiesHowever, just like with any job, business, or company, I feel that if something wasn't done correctly upon the initial installation, regardless of the time elapsed, those responsible should be held accountable and take ownership of the situation by doing whatever necessary to repair and or replace anything damaged in the processMy wife and I truly wish to resolve this issue as peacefully, and with as little negativity as possiblePlease feel free to contact us for further questionsThank you
