I have used United Wholesale Mortgage multiple times for refinances and purchases that I've done and I've always felt they were attentive on any issues that I did have. Customer service has always been supportive and assisted me with any questions I have had. I would much rather work with a UWM company than a big box retail bank.

UWM was unhelpful and unresponsive. They asked me to risk my job--the very employment they were trying to "verify"--by asking me to violate my company's policy regarding third party loan verifications just to get their extreme documentation.

UWM has been a huge supporter of Mortgage brokers across the United States. I’ve never seen a company close loans faster or offer as much support as UWM. By far the best wholesale lender in the country! They continue to support our clients and provide the best level of customer service even once the loan closes!

United Wholesale Mortgage is in a league of their own. I have had several mortgages in the past and have dealt with many mortgage companies. My mortgage broker sold our loan to UWM and I can't have been happier. They have great communication and they fixed a problem for me the second it was noticed. Top-notch customer service like this has to be recognized.

UWM not only helped me get the best deal on my mortgage but the process was super easy and the most painless experience I have ever had. We closed our loan in 10 days. Start to finish. We were able to get an appraisal waiver which I know not everyone gets. For us it was a huge advantage and allowed us to close extremely fast. I highly recommend checking them out.

If I could leave 10 stars I would. I am a mortgage broker an in 2019 I closed $61M in mortgage loans, $22M of them with United Wholesale Mortgage. UWM is everything a mortgage company should be. Fantastic service, the industry leader in technology, competitive rates, and ETHICAL!!!! They do the right thing, and worry about whether it will result in business later. Overstaffed by design. Like any organization the leader sets the culture. Google Mat Ishbia and read about him and you'll know everything you need to know about UWM and what they're all about.

Is this opinion in stark contrast to some of the other reviews on here? Yes, and I think I have an idea why. There are 3 reasons an incredible company like UWM would have negative reviews despite being an awesome company to work with. The first category of negative reviews is with frustrated consumers who are having issues with loan servicing, most often with escrows. Loan Servicing is the type of thing that goes great with 99% of borrowers, and when the 1% has a problem it can be difficult to fix. Escrows are complicated and change often due to property tax and insurance increases. This is true for UWM as well as every single other servicing company out there. Google reviews on the rest of them. And believe it or not, the 99% do not come on here to say "UWM takes my mortgage payment every single month without fail. THEY'RE GREAT!"

The other issue is that UWM works solely through brokers. They do not originate directly to consumers. So some of these reviews and frustrations towards UWM are probably communication problems with their broker.

And lastly, UWM is fantastic, but they're not perfect and they are huge. They're the 2nd biggest lender in the country. Even if they make 10% the amount of mistakes as every other lender out there, due to sheer volume the raw number of those mistakes is going to be greater. And given the fact that they work strictly with brokers, when things go fantastic that consumer is more likely to leave a positive review for their broker, not for UWM. They may not even really know who/what UWM is.

If I sound like a fanboy, that's because I am. My company has the ability to send loans to 30 different mortgage lenders and I've tried out the majority of them. There is a reason that UWM gets as much of my business as they do. Lots of reasons actually.

As a semi-recognizable mortgage broker I am often asked who my top wholesale lenders are. After naming United Wholesale Mortgage number one based on system, experience, and efficiency-I am usually asked what other company is a close second. I tell them “I’ll give you a close third“. No one is in second. The gap is that large.

Hands down, the best place to originate a mortgage! The customer experience is always their #1 priority! Want to close on your loan in 10 days or less?? This is the place to do it.

UWM is the best lender in the country. Bar none. They close their loans really fast and do what they say.
