I was struggling with my student loan payments so I thought USSLS would help with "loan forgiveness" and lower my interest rate. What they DON'T tell you is, that they DON'T pay your student loans directly after consolidation they are a third party and you can get this service for FREE without losing $499. Sooo, a person with high payments has now consolidated student loans, but now has to pay $100 a month on top of the payment you will owe to Direct Loans for a service you can get for FREE through the government. THIS IS A SCAM!! They also don't tell you, they charge an additional $39 for a maintenance fee that does absolutely NOTHING but take money out of your bank account. Learn from people who have been through it and don't trust the "reviews" on the Internet. These people are cashing in on people who are vulnerable and looking for help.

This consumer was enrolled by an affiliate to USSLS, studentloansvcs.  We have no record of what the enrollment company said or didn't say. However, the consumer went through compliance where she was notified that she is not enrolling with the government, she is enrolling into third party...

service and there is no affiliate with the government.  Additionally, during the compliance call, she was made aware all fees were for document preparation and would not be applied to her student loan balance.  USPS tracking shows the documents were delivered and accepted by the client.StudentLoanSVCS who collected the fees are not in business.  The consumer will be given a refund from their reserve account they had with USSLS.

[Student loan services lied. They have not sent said documents nor did we discuss me be enrolled in a payback program. I am not happy with their services and want a refund of the money taken from my credit card which has been blocked and closed to prevent any further funds taken. I do not wish to discuss this any further just sent me a refund check in the amount of $224.

[redacted] and [redacted] have been very informative and polite during the process of getting setup on a program with USSL. There were financial complications on my end for making the $500 fee payment and [redacted] was super nice about rescheduling and working to get this done. A great experience so far, I will update as time goes but I don't see any issues arising.

I was referred to USSLH to process my loan forgiveness paper work. I was told initially that I was going to be charged a one time fee of $99.00. then I was told according to my income and the amount due on my loans that I will be charged an additional $600.00, and this fee was for the duration of the loan forgiveness. Fast forward on December 15, 2015 they took out $199.99 from my account then on the 12/24/15 they took out $39.00 for service fee. I contacted the company got a lot of run around until finally sending an email and a manager returned my call. she was willing to remove the 39 dollars but said I will be on my own and in a year I would need to pay $700 for their service. This caused me to research the company and found out that many customers were also mislead. I would like to have the $230.00 be return to my account. I am not asking for the $99.00 for the initial payment. I called and ask for a refund and was refused a refund because of a document she said I signed. still waiting for a copy. Due to the fact that I was misinformed I would like to get refunded.

USSLS was contracted to complete the documents as of the date those documents were received all our services had been rendered.  By choosing you are no longer interested in consolidating, does not mean our services were not rendered.  Our service is not the consolidation of your loans, rather as you can see per the client agreement signed by you, it is the preparing of the documents.  
The documents were prepared and submitted to you on good faith that you would complete the agreed fee schedule, as our company had provided you those services.
We cannot refund the amount charged as you're requesting as our services have been fully rendered.  We will cancel the remaining balance owed to our company and not forward your agreement for collections.

We have reviewed your file and there seems to be a breakdown of communication.  In review of your file, our document preparation services were...

completed and you were placed into a federal consolidation on 7/24/2015.  Your monthly payment was not adjusted due toe Fed Loans not processing your proof of income.  Our service department instructed that you to fax your proof of income to Fed Loan Servicing, not our service department.
Due to this, Fed Loans didn't receive the necessary documents from you.  We will have our service department connect with you to ensure your proof of income is processed and your monthly payment reflects it.  
We as a company want to ensure that all of our clients are happy with our service and that is why we currently have over 30,000 active clients. USSLS completed all contracted services at the time of delivery confirmation.  Upon mailing your documents to NelNet, in your pre-labeled flat rate envelope, we had no further ability to track said package.  Per our instructions, you would be sending via USPS priority mail, for a $5.05 and that would include a tracking number.  Failure on your part to follow the steps is not a reflection of the service provided by USSLS.
 
USSLS has successfully assisted over 8,000 people with their student loan debt.  Your challenge, was not a reflection of the service rendered by USSLS, rather a lack of following the proper instructions, post USSLS services .
