Per your initial request over the phone on 4/25/2015 we cancelled the automatic renewal of your membership. You have stated that you have already contacted your bank or Credit Card Company and filed a dispute. and read the reviews for this company you will see that they do this to everyone. How was I supposed to cancel something I never knew about. How many people have they scammed like this???? How long before a class action law suit is filed. This is a fraud and theft. I have also filed fraud charges with the Attorney General's in Ohio and California. If this company does not refund the money they stole from me I will file complaints with every agency I can think of. One other thing doesn't "rewards" mean they give you something not take it from you??????

We have issued a refund for $23.40 and closed the customers account.

This is the first time I can recall paying too much for any product or service and not being compensated for the overcharge.  I normally look closely at terms of payment to make sure the product or service matches the payment.  I used the Peoplefinder service one time and was willing to pay the expected cost of $0.95 which showed on my Visa bill as two separate charges of $0.48 and $0.47.  It was clearly not my intention to sign up for an ongoing $24.95 monthly service.  From their response and the presentation of their payment terms, the intention of Peoplefinders is to trick individuals into signing up for the $24.95 monthly billing. Please let me know what steps are necessary to recover the full $99.80. I plan to lodge a complaint with the Sacramento District Attorney regardless of whether or not Peoplefinders refunds the full $99.80. Thank you again for your response.  I will be watching closely for any communication on the subject. [redacted]

Given that members can conduct unlimited searches and other services for a monthly fee, the Terms do not allow for refunds and simply allow users to cancel at anytime to avoid further billing. As you stated in this complaint, per your online request on 5/13/2015 we granted one refund for the most current month of membership as a one-time courtesy. You mentioned on this complaint that you have filed a dispute with your credit card company. Often, due to the dispute, you are given a conditional refund by your bank. We recommend informing your credit card company of the refund we have granted as if we do in fact recieve a dispute for the refunded charge, we would be forced to negate our refund.

We do not change the records we have on file after a customer signs up for a membership or purchases a product. Service was rendered. As a courtesy we have refunded half of the price. A refund of $14.92 was issued to the customer.

I am rejecting this response because: HelloAs we discussed this past Friday, please reopen my Complaint #[redacted] submitted on 10/8/2015 11:07:18 AM against Peoplefinders.com.As I mentioned over the phone, the directory listing I filed the complaint over had still not been removed as I had requested almost a month ago. I was told at that time that it would take 7-10 days. While a I believe the person who I am in contact with at Peoplefinders.com is trying to honor my request, the information still had not been removed as of Friday afternoon. I was told by that Peoplefinder's representative to give it a little more time and that their IT department was now actually working on my request. As soon as the requested directory information is removed, I will then close my complaint as resolved. This should occur some time this upcoming week.
