Thank you for providing the link. However, the link brings up several matches for different people with that name. Which one do you want removed?

I am rejecting this response because: the terms may have been in the fine print, but in my observation and as other have written, it is seemingly an obvious...

peoplefinders business tactic to tease the user then rope them into a contract (either an exit contract or entrant contract for continued service).  As far as the statement about "clearly" stating, this is nonsense.  Why else would so many others have so many complaints registered with peoplefinders.  I feel cheated.  I feel swindled.  Also, when a company squabbles over a miniscule amount of money over customer satisfaction, then it is again abviously a part of their business model as how they generate revenue.  Common sense should prevail with an honest company, peoplefinders seems to not be one of those companies.  They know a user stays on a webpage about 8 seconds - 20 seconds.  They have done this many times before and are in my opinion preying on the consumer.  Imagine if the next time in a [redacted] they have a sale on a side salad for only 1 penny more* with any purchase.  What a great deal!!!  It's fair. Then after your kid eats lunch you get a credit card statement for $44 from [redacted].  When you inquire they tell you that you should have seen the legend for explanation which was clearly displayed on the sign in the lobby stating:   " * a fee of $39.99 will be added to all orders or if you like we can continue the salad sale and only charge you 19.99 a month"   How would you feel about [redacted] then?  They rely on repeated business so they encourage honest customer relations so this contrived scenario likely wouldn't happen. peoplefinders is cementing everything that I feel and which others have posted based on their non-responsiveness and unwillingness to return fees which were in my opinion swindled from a trusting consumer.  Keep the money if you value the $3 (or whatever it is) over honesty.  That will further substantiate all that people are saying about the legitimacy and business practices of peoplefinders.

I am rejecting this response because:  I am a senior citizen... I sometimes forget...I am appalled by the way this site provides info...I demand a complete refund...I should have just used the white pages...

The customer was shown what product they would be purchasing before their card was billed. They had selected to order a full background report on [redacted]. That product is $19.95. Because the service was rendered, there will be no refund.

I am rejecting this response because:  While I appreciate PeopleFinder's courtesy and willingness to refund my December payment, I believe that they should do more.  I am an educated man and would not have agreed to a monthly service that I have no need for.  I was attempting to find contact information for one person one time and the fact that PeopleFinders has almost 200 complaints against their billing practices suggests to me that the website could be more straightforward.  $48.90 seems like a great deal of money for a phone number that did not work.  The $24.95 collected in October should be sufficient and fair payment for contact information for one person, one time.  If they check their records, they will see that no additional inquiries were attempted.  If PeopleFinders would be willing to refund an additional $24.95 for the month of November, I would consider this matter settled equitably.  Thank you.  - [redacted]

I am rejecting this response because: bait and switch. The merchant claimed to definitively have the information strictly to get the payment. Once the merchant got payment, suddenly they claim they are being "paid to do a search." They need to inform the public BEFORE the public submits payment, they are doing the search- not get payment by claiming to have information. This is fraud. I am going to contact an attorney to see about a class action law suit. The site is set up so that you do an initial search yourself submitting name and reverse phone information and peoplefinders.com will say whether or not they have the information requested. In this particular case, they indicated the information requested would be given once payment is made. SPECIFICALLY STATED: WE HAVE THE INFORMATION YOU REQUESTED. I then made payment. They then said, " We do not have the information you requested". This is a no-brainer bait and switch. Based on this, I want my refund, and this site needs to be shut down for FRAUD.

I am rejecting this response because:it was under a free trail and it was cancelled the same day so there should not be a charge for cancellation fee.

The automatic renewal was mentioned in standard text on each page of checkout and it is the online consumers responsibility to read and understand what they are purchasing. You made an online purchase with our company and, as stated, users may cancel online or over the phone. As a courtesy we have refunded the most current membership fees. Due to the Terms you agreed to and the amount of time that has passed since the other membership fees have been charged, you are responsible for the other charges. Again, you selected the monthly membership and failed to contact us to cancel for over a year. As stated clearly and concisely several times on during checkout you were to be billed each month until you cancelled the membership. Our customer service was available to take your cancellation at any time and our phone number is listed each month directly next to the charge on your statement. Additionally, the Terms of Use you agreed to simply state that by using our service you are certifying that you are over eighteen years old. It does not ask or discriminate if a user is a senior or not. Feel free to review the Terms of Use on PeopleFinders.com if you have any other questions or concerns.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to my concern, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.
Just wanted to thank you for your help with my recent...

complaint against PEOPLE Finders. Ive never filed a complaint against a business and your site helped me feel less like a fly in a trap and more empowered for my voice to be heard. Thanks![redacted]

The customer made a purchase on 1/13/15, this is when they selected a Background Report that comes with a membership. They were billed the monthly membership, which can be canceled on line, via email or by calling customer care. We have issued a total of 5 months of refunds to the customer. There will be no further refunds Per the Terms of Use that the customer agreed to during the check out process.

I am rejecting this response because: I just wanted to sign up for classmates. I'm a newbie on the computer. I haven't even been on the site.

I am rejecting this response because:  I did NOT sign up for a monthly membership and I contacted them via email appeared,   Please provide documentation supporting me signing up that has my signature on it as I know for a fact I did not sign up for a monthly membership.  I've tried being patient with this company, I've used them three times in the past and each time I do this happens!  I will never use them again and their reputation for this precise type of activity is documented in nasty comments by hundreds of consumers.  They are extremely deceptive.  I will dispute this charge with my credit card if that's the route I need to take.  I received no membership email, nothing detailing any membership, etc AT ALL!

The customer received a complete report. Public records vary and not all states release marriage and divorce information. Per our Terms of Use there is no guarantee on report results and no refund will be issued.

We have reviewed your account and found that on 7/18/2015 instead of purchasing a single Background Report at $39.95 you chose to receive a Background Report at a discounted price of $19.95. The reason this product is discounted is because it comes with a three day trial membership. If cancelled...

within three days you will be billed $2.95 for the trial. If the trial is allowed to renew it would have renewed at $29.95 per month for the membership. Your original purchase of $19.95 is not affected. We received your cancellation online on 7/18/2015, within the three day trial period, therefore you were billed $2.95 for the trial on the fourth day. Again, the cancellation does not negate your initial purchase of $19.95 for the Background Report.

We have reviewed our files and found that at the time of purchase on 3/19/2015 this customer chose to receive a discounted price of $0.95 for signing up for a 3 day trial to our Membership. This membership allowed the customer to receive an unlimited number of:•People Searches – Get the...

facts you need to find anyone, anywhere•Email Searches – Obtain email addresses, or learn about the owner of any address•Marriage Searches – Find out if a man or woman has ever been married•Divorce Searches – Check the divorce status of any man or woman•Property Searches – Learn about any piece of property, including the current owner and  valueThey had the option to cancel this membership trial at anytime via the account manager on the website, via email, or via phone. We did not receive any notification that they wished to cancel this trial. The 3 day trial has ended; therefore, they were charged the membership fee on the fourth day, and for every month thereafter.Given that members are granted unlimited searches and other services for a monthly fee, our Terms do not allow for refunds and simply allow users to cancel at anytime to avoid further billing. Per this customer's request  over the phone on 5/2/2015the membership was cancelled and there will be no further automatic billing. The charges are non-refundable per the Terms agreed to.

We have reviewed our files and found that this customer signed up for PeopleFinders.com through a full-page offer during checkout on Classmates.com. We have attached a screenshot of the offer here. Our records show that the card information was entered again and the purchase was made for a month of...

our service at $12.45. The charge is non-refundable per the Terms of this purchase. We received your cancellation on 9/23/2015 over the phone, which is within the first 30 days. Therefore; you will not be billed the monthly membership fee of $24.95. Your membership will expire on 10/22/2015, you can enjoy all the benefits of membership until then and there will be no further billing.

The customer called in to customer care for assistance. During that call they were reminded of the Terms of Use they agreed to at the time of sign up. The $14.95 was for 1 month of service and will not renew as the membership has been canceled per request. The product is not refundable per the Terms...

of Use.

I am rejecting this response because: Their response does not answer the complaint, how my credit card company responses has nothing to do with them responding to my complaint. They need to provide written documentation that I committed to an on-going charge of $29.95 per month. They have not provided that information, only quoting their terms of use policy. They need to provide proof that I accepted these charges. Thank you.
