I am rejecting this response because:  I did not receive any notice that told me that I would be automatically enrolled in a "automatic payment" using my card information at $24.95 per month.  If I did, this information was put in small print in a huge "agreement" that no one would take the time to read.  Why would ANYONE agree to pay $24.95 for looking up an address of a family member that lives out of state?  The fact that their voice recording steers you to an automated response to cancel memberships is a dead give away that they are preying on people who accept the "discounted" rate for an address look up but then intent to gouge them with automatic "membership renewals" at $24.95 per month.  If this was a ligitimate business practice, they would just bill you $5 (for example) for the address look up and not require you to enroll in a "automatic renewal subscription".  They clearly make their money providing an address and then hope to prey on unsuspecting victims that allow the 3 day grace period to expire and then they slam them with a "nonrefundable" $25 charge.

We have refunded the customer for the membership in the amount of $12.48. However the $5.50 was for a PDF Document on a background report on [redacted], that service was rendered and per the Terms of Use not refundable.

The customer received a extensive background report that normally is $19.95 each. Per our Terms of Use this report is not refundable.

billed. We did not receive a cancellation therefore; you were billed $38.95 every three months for the duration of your membership. Per your request over email on 10/8/2015 your membership was cancelled. Your membership will expire on 11/22/2015 and you can enjoy unlimited People, Background and Reverse phone searches until then. Given that users have access to unlimited searching and other features for a monthly fee, our Terms do not allow for refunds.

The membership is available and the account is open to use our services.

The customer purchased a trial membership on 03/13/16. There is no record of cancelation by email, online or by phone prior to 03/30/16. No refund will be issued

on 10/07/16 the customer went to our website and selected to purchase a background report for $9.95. They then clicked to accept a $19.95 Membership that was offered to them during the check out process. However, the transactions failed. They were not charged. They then emailed us for assistance 3...

times, all 3 times they were notified that they were not billed the transactions had all failed. Please allow up to 7 business days for the pending transactions to drop. How long it will take for the pending charges to drop is up to their bank, on our end the transactions ever went through we did not receive any funds that need to be refunded.

Please provide the email address that the account was opened under.

I am rejecting this response because: THEY cancelled my membership/account without notifying me.  I DID NOT CANCEL, therefore I should either get my money back or my membership reinstated.  I would prefer getting my money back as they are responsible for the cancellation - not myself.  They have my $59.70 & I have NOTHING back from them.  Thank you for responding in my favor in this matter.  They really are a bunch of crooks (in my opinion)   Definitely - BUYERS BE AWARE!!!

billed the membership fee. Per the Terms of use months that have already been billed are not refundable. We've canceled the membership, there will be no further billings.

The customer came to our self service web site on 03/30/16 and purchased a $14.98 background check membership then proceeded to run a background report. No refund will be issued.

I am rejecting this response because: The company leads you to believe you are paying .95 for a phone number and then lures you into a membership that needs to be cancelled.  This is deceiving and very miss-leading especially for senior citizens on a limited budget.  Who would pay $24.94 a month for a telephone number directory?  I may not have read the luring script as I was in a hurry to get the number, however, when I realized the trap, I called immediately.  I only used their service once and never will use it again and $24.95 is a big expense for one number and no additional services rendered.  Especially when it is done in a deceptive way!

When the customer called they were issued one refund. We are now giving 3 more refunds. Totaling $99.80. Per the Terms of Use any previous months are not refundable. Our records do not show the customer cancelling their membership before 03/08/16. There will be no further billings.

I am rejecting this response because: I don't want a month of access to wrong and outdated information. Especially, since I did my own search and found the information without their services. If I could locate the information then with their database should have been able too.

Thanks Revdex.com, peoplefinders finally removed me from their database.  Thanks for your assistance in this matter.  The case may be closed.

Our website stats our coverage of divorce records. No refund will be issued. We have already offered another free search.

I am rejecting this response because not once did they state they would refund the initial month charge and since it had been less than a month, there should not have been an issue. Their repeated claims that the buyer is informed is rubbish since if you are no a phone trying to get an phone number it is not easy to see the fine print. I am sure there are those that may want to use this service for it's full capacity, but by the number of customers complaining about their practices, it seems that a majority of customers are not aware what they are agreeing to when they try and get just one phone number.Furthermore if they had not wasted our time and just said we always refund the 1st month if the client is not satisfied, missed or misunderstood the terms of the online acceptance, then I would not have bothered writing the Revdex.com or calling American Express. The only way I found out about getting the credit for that first charge was when I went to the website and logged in to cancel. It then told me about the credit. I will cancel the dispute with my credit card once I see a credit on my statement. If the credit card company sees this, they would remove the credit that they had issued. All I can say is they are pros at dissection.

I am rejecting this response because:Totally unacceptable.   Please inform the [redacted] concerning this complaint.  I stated that I didn't want to use Peoplefinders services any longer because what they were providing was a FRAUD.  I still have the two (2) page print-out from Peoplefinders that show that they were providing NO service.  How would I know if I didn't log in?   Peoplefinders are designed to entice people to log onto their website and ambush them with legal technicalities.  I went to the [redacted] and found what I needed.  Peoplefinders should surf the Public Libraries of America and stock their data pool with the Libraries research.  Please Contact the Local City/County [redacted] on my behalf.  Conversely, I'll contact the [redacted].  I will not accept less than my full refund of:  $299.40.Thank you much for your valuable time and consideration.Respectfully submitted, [redacted], Victim/Injured Party #[redacted]
