Vizio Reviews (1844)

I am only accepting this response because vizio did contact me and stated they will offer me a recertified television. Depending on if this tv is in new condition when it is received as promised, I may contact Revdex.com again. Thank you.  Revdex.com:I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me.  I will wait for the business to perform this action and, if it does, will consider this complaint resolved.Regards,[redacted]

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
As Vizio is stated  >> "Please be advised that VIZIO has determined that the VIZIO television in question in this complaint has been out of warranty by approximately 1 year and 7 months."
This is not true. Vizio  increased the warranty on this TV  from 1 year to 2 years because they discovered that this line of TV was having wide spread issues pertaining to the white spots being appeared on the screen from  increased number of customers. To save a recall on the TV, Vizio extended the warranty, which was not sufficient, specifically when sending the same model again.
I did hear back from Vizio.  Manager [redacted] from Corporate Escalations Group. He asked me to pay approx. $990 + tax  (don't remember the exact amount) to get the new replacement.
Also, after talking to Mr. [redacted] he acknowledged that the unit that they replaced in September-2015 was not a brand new but a used one, which they get from store display / customer return etc.
The thing that I just don't understand is that why would they sent the used same model unit which was having a wide spread issue.
I believe that Vizio was just applying 'hit and try' method on their customers, which means if the replacement unit works for 90 days, then great, and after that they don't have any responsibility, otherwise they will replace again and again, like they did for other customers, upto 4-5 replacements. Luckily, other customers noticed white spots within 90 days and guess I was very unfortunate not to notice the white spots until they took over all over the screen which was around 120 days and not 90.
I expect that someone in Vizio should take a moral responsibility for their customers and do the right thing either by returning their money or do a replacement free of charge with a model which does not have the same issue again with extended warranty.

Turned my television on Monday morning and it had lines throughout the picture. I called customer service and they stated this was a point of impact. I explained to them the television worked just fine the night before and no one had been around it to make a "point of impact" however, they kept ensuring it was hit. My television is still in warranty. They told me 19 days to be exact... yet, they are not willing to fix the issue. If my television was hit, I would most definitely be aware. I have experienced awful customer service with multiple representatives.

Vizio's claim that the TV has been out of warranty is not accurate. The original TV was purchased in November of 2013 and replaced under warranty in August of 2015.  This model had an extended warranty due to defects found with this model (E701i-A3).  Defects such as white spots on the original and then again with the replacement that was the same model.  I have been told many times on the phone, prior to this being addressed with the Revdex.com, that the warranty was extended.   As I appreciate the fact Vizio has finally called me back on the issue;  they have offered to split the cost of repair.  This it is also inaccurate.  I have been told during calls with them that the screen is not repairable and that it is not economical to try to repair the TV.  They state that it's better for me to accept the discounted price of $1500 for the M model or $700 for another E model.  This has not worked previously as I have had two TVs that have had this same issue. The original TV was only a little under two years old when it failed.  It was replaced with another only to have it fail again for the same issues in less than six months. This does not stand by Vizio's claim that their "Quality of our products is very important to us".  For Vizio to knowingly have issues with these TVs enough to extend the warranty and then send me the same model under that warranty only to have it fail again, shows no accountability on their end.  This is regardless of the discounted offers.  I should not have to count on a TV I spent $1100 on as a loss only to have to send them more money to get a new one that they assure me will at least have a new warranty.  These discounts are not fair resolutions to the matter at hand.  The accountability for the defective TVs should stand with Vizio and should not be put on the consumers to purchase another from them at a discounted price.   This is NOT resolved.  There should be an exchange of this defective model for a new one that DOES NOT have the same model number (E701-A3) as the two that have failed.

This TV is only 5 years old.  Nothing should be wrong with it.  However, since there is, the pieces should be readily available.  It is abundantly clear that you make a crappy product.  Over a $10 piece that I cannot get a hold of, you will not get my business and I will steer as many other people away from your brand as I possibly can.  Dispicable service and product!!!!

I hope this helps anyone looking into getting a Vizio.

VIZIO television in question in this complaint is out of warranty as it was refurbished by another company than Vizio.  A copy of VIZIO’s warranty can be viewed online at http://www.vizio.com/warranty.  The complainant has avoided contact with Vizio management repeatedly, and refuses to confirm information with us. The complainant provided a picture, to us and to the Revdex.com, which clearly shows a sticker that states it has no Vizio warranty, that was provided by the refurbishment company. At VIZIO, the quality of our products is very important to us.  We rely on and appreciate product feedback from our customers and encourage anyone who has questions about or problems with our products to contact us at https://vizio.custhelp.com/ for information and assistance.   Sincerely, VIZIO, Inc.

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. My original complaint was for two vizio televisions that have issues. Both televisions were given a "complimentary" repair from Vizio. Neither of which worked. One television a 50" was found to be un-repairable and the other was thought to be repaired but three weeks after the repair the issue returned. After researching the issues we are having with both televisions I found that there are over 1800 complaints through consumer protection and over 450 complaints with the Revdex.com. This does not appear to be a unique situation as it was explained to me by the Vizio resolution manager. There average cost of a 50" vizio television is at this time $400. With the number of complaints regarding this product my calculation is $900,000 dollars spent by consumers in the united states alone and vizio wants to say that because the 1 year warranty on their product expired that they should be not be held responsible to resolve the issues. I repeat my statement that there needs to be fair value for money spent. Vizio corporation is located in California. California has the Song Beverly Consumer Warranty Act (1793.03.) says that all electronics with a purchase priceof a $100  are to be warrantied against defect for a period of seven years. I feel that considering the number of complaints against vizio and the loss to consumers that a thorough investigation of the quality of this product should be considered. Too many people have put their faith and dollars into a company who four years ago was making a quality product today has lowered its standards of performance and in my opinion is defrauding american consumers. Their product only survives the 1 year warranty it provides and once the warranty has expired too many consumers are left with a product that does not operate as specified for its use. Vizio spent years building a product you could count on. A very good value for money spent and built a reputation that made it one of the top televisions in the country. That reputation is the reason consumers have continued purchasing this product. This is why when the resolution manager calls you to set up a complimentary repair and tells you that your situation is unique you believe him. But today and for the past few years Vizio has become a substandard product and no longer provides even moderate value for money spent. Using parts that are not even manufactured by Vizio as I saw when the back was taken off the television for the repair that didn't work. Vizio has turned into a throw away product and I do not consider spending another dime on this product money well spent. I am praying that the 55" 4K television I purchased a year ago November 27th doesn't crap out on me as the other two televisions have. But I will not be surprised if it does and expect Vizio to respond with the same level of appreciation for my customer loyalty as they have regarding the two televisions that are both LESS than two years old not almost two years old as they have stated in all of their responses. My hope is that all consumers will be protected by Corporations like Vizio.

We believe this to be a warranty issue and expect full replacement of the TV. I do not believe I should incur additional expense to have a working TV. I also am disappointed no one has examined the TV. The pictures clearly reflect no damage to the box or the TV itself and the damage is internal. I request that we receive either a refund or a replacement. I am more than happy to schedule a time to have it looked at or would bring it to a location to have VIZIO examine it.

I called a TV repair person to give me an estimate. He determined that 9 out of the 12 LED light strips were not working. HE also said that he has seen quite a few Vizio TV's with this same issue and on most other brands, they do not burn out as fast. I understand the TV is out of warranty. this complaint is based on faulty parts that do not last the expected life of the TV. I think the public should know that before they purchase a Vizio TV. Vizio did call me and offered me a used TV for $550.00. They claim that they offered me a discounted TV. if Visio is wanting to resolve this, why couldn't they offer to pay for the repair, or send me the parts? I ask the Vizio rep that called me this question. "Why would I purchase another Vizio TV if the one I paid full price for didn't last 2 years"? He said, " you have a very good point"
