Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because:1) Get my name right.2) This does not resolve your high pressure and illegal bait and switch selling tactics A week after I order a [redacted] tv I am told it's out of stock but the tv I ordered is no good anyway and what I really want is the real [redacted] display and it's only going to cost me a couple hundred dollars more I have never seen such blatant disrespect for a customer and for the law This is a clearly illegal activity that will also be reported to the Division of Consumer Affairs Regards, [redacted] ***

Update to my previous complaint I previously submitted about pricing - bait and switch - advertising one price, when you place the order you are required to call to confirm the price and you find the price is now $more on a $TV Lies! Lies and more Lies! I was assured they were a LG TV authorized dealer and LG's one year warranty would applyI just received an e-mail saying they WERE NOT an authorized dealer and LG would not cover products sold by them In trying to cancel my order the (Jeff ext *** said the item had already shippedThe tracking number shows "waiting for pick up"Jeff says call customer serviceCustomer service is closed and is only open Monday - ThursdayHe refused to help I now have called the credit card company to enter into a "disputed" state with the purchase I informed the shipping company the order is canceled before they arrive for pick up on MondayI called and e-mailed Abe's of Maine that the order is canceled

Hi We are sorry for the misunderstanding we contacted the customer on 4/and took care of the misunderstanding with the customer The customer said the would withdraw the complaint Thank You [redacted] ***

advertising, bait and switch: I ordered a camera from Abe's of Main, only to have salesman call and inform me the item I ordered is the non US version and the US version cost moreI asked what version was listed on their site, he said the non-US, I asked how would know the difference by looking at the site, he said I wouldn't be able to tellI said why doesn't the site indicate if US or other, he began to get upset an respectfulness at that point

I placed an order for [redacted] Flashes ( [redacted] ), non USA versionI got a call on Sunday where a rep (I believe his name was Jeff) tried to up-sell me the US version of the flash [redacted] indicated that these flashes only have "Japanese" menu options, and that they come from MalaysiaNowhere in their' Web site this fact is revealed I called today about this order to complain about what in my opinion is a dubious sales technique (at best), and said to the person I spoke to that this sounded like to me, as even grey market electronics (non USA products) generally come with options of English, Japanese, and ChineseI told him that if indeed this flash only came with Japanese menus, that I was going to cancel the order This person then proceeded to tell me to keep my language to myself, and that he had cancelled the order, and hung up without giving me a chance to say a word

Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because:Abe's of Maine (dba Westpark Electronics, LLC) is not addressing the issue at hand. The issue is that they lied about the products in which I ordered and paid forThe items were to be US retail NOT grey market. It is NOT a warranty issueIt is an issue with their sales and business practices.I ordered and paid retail prices for what I was told was US retail products What I received were grey market items worth 40%-50% less. Please refer to the attachments I have provided as well as the communication emails which follow Regards, [redacted] ? Absolutely stay away from Abe's of Maine! This company is notorious for doing what's called "The Bait & Switch" which involves showing an item, in this case I was interested in the LG 55C6P OLED TV, they had it at a really good price So I placed an order, I only found this site because of a coworker told me about itI suddenly got a suspicion (unfortunately after) and I did a quick google search on the companyThey are awful, and how they can do this legally is beyond me Unfortunately I did this on the weekend so I had to wait two days before I could call them up and cancelI was also waiting for that email everyone gets that says they need to call Well, Monday morning I get that famous email saying I need to call about this order and ask for this guy name Ted I knew instantly they were doing to tell me that they wanted to confirm my order for the European version of this TV Of course there is absolutely NOTHING on their website that leads anyone to believe that they are ordering anything outside the United States, and that if you want the US version of this TV or this camera then it'll cost you moreIf you choose not to cancel, and not to pay more then your order will go into the abyss and you'll never see it again because it'll be delayed, or it's on back order So I called them up, the girl was of course hesitant to cancel and said she doesn't know anything about these complaints or the bait & switch I told them what would happen Don't buy from these people!

Company employs switch and bait tactics Advertises low prices online, but will not process order unless you call and speak to an "associate" who will then user various deceptive means to try to switch you to another product at a higher price And if you refuse the "upsell", then you are told that the product is no longer available Having experienced this, some online research reveals that while once a reputable business, this is no longer the case and the switch and bait tactic has become a standard operating procedure https://www.consumeraffairs.com/homeowners/abes-of-maine.html

On February 25th I ordered a camera deluxe package DSLR750KITwhich was to include a Nikon DDSLR body, an AF-S NIKKOR 24-120mm f/4G ED VR Lens, an AF-S VR Zoom-NIKKOR 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6G Lens plus lots of other extras My first bad experience with this business was when "Ted" called to try to upsell me a bunch of other crap I literally spent minutes trying to get him off the phone while he acted like he was doing me a favor I received my order and instead of the lens that was pictured and listed in the item description which retails for $499.95, they sent me a much cheaper Nikon 70-300mm f4.0-G Lens which retails for $ When I called them they were not at all sorry and eventually they offered to give me a two year warranty or send me a different lens as the nicer lens is backordered I agreed to the other lens and "Lisa" told me I would be getting and RMA to return the lens I didn't want I never received the RMA I have screenshots of the item descri

Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: I have received absolutely no confirmation about my order whatsoeverI have not received an e-mail from Abe's of Maine, the order number I was given does not bring up a valid order on the company's website and no shipping company has attempted to contact about when this order should be shipped, despite all of this money was withdrawn from my account promptly on the same day I got the first and only response to my complaintIt has been quite some time since I opened this complaint and I would like to receive the product I attempted to order roughly a month ago, especially since I've already payed for it Regards, [redacted] ***

[A default letter is provided here which indicates your acceptance of the business's response. If you wish, you may update it before sending it.] RevDex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. Regards, [redacted] The business agreed to credit my account for $250.00 which I accept.

My mother has been putting money away for a new television for almost a year nowShe is finally ready to purchase and asked me for some assistanceI found her the [redacted] and searched [redacted] shopping for the best priceAbe's of Maine came up (image attached) with a price of $with no tax and free shippingThis television sells for $in most all big box retailers and she just couldn't afford that muchShe was however willing to stretch her budget a little to accommodate the $priceHaving dealt with them many years ago I advised my Mom that this is a good company and to go ahead and make the purchaseShe didBoy was that a mistake The next day she received a call, first asking her to purchase extended warranty plans, and when she declined, telling her that she would have to pay $for the shippingShe questioned this and was then told that it's to cover the insurance on the shipmentShe texted me what was going on and I told her not to pay them anything m

Dear CustomerThis order was cancelled as per your request, it was never billedThere is no refund duePlease let me know if you need anything elseThank You [redacted] ***Abe's of Maine [redacted] ***

Abe's of Maine uses the classic bait and switch They advertise a price that is much lower than the overall market, but don't disclose that is a non-U.Sproduct After placing the order, you have to talk to Jeff who informs you that the model you ordered only works with 230V If you want the 120V (U.S.) model, it is several hundred dollars more The is for an [redacted] ***

The item that the customer ordered was a closeout itemWe oversold on the itemWe informed the customer right away that we would not be able to fullfill his orderThe customer was never billed for the orderWe no longer have this product since it was a closeoutUnfortunately from time to time we oversell on a productThe customer was informed right away and never billed for this orderThe complaint is with out merit and should be dismissedOur website states: Any order confirmation (electronic or paper receipt) given to you through Abe's of Maine does not signify our acceptance of your order, nor does it constitute confirmation of an offer to sellAbe's of Maine reserves the right to decline and cancel an order, or supply less than quantity ordered at any time Thank You [redacted] West Park Electronics LLC DBA Abes's of Maine

I purchased a Nikon Dcamera with a Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 24-120mm f/4G ED VR Lens from this businessThe advertised price was $1,Shortly after I placed my order online, a sales rep called and told me there was a problem with the order and had to verify some thingsHe then said he had a better offer in a kit and that the camera I purchased was not as good as a deal he could give meHe said the camera came with no accessories but he could give me the Presidents Day Bundle for $I agreed to paying $420.00, thinking I was getting a kit similar to the other one on their website for about the same priceThe order came and what I got was the original purchase for $more than the advertised priceI called back and the salesman only argued with me, not letting me explain why I was unhappy with the purchase, and told me the other camera was a Korean model with Korean writing on it I did some research before calling him and found the particular Nikon I purchased is mad

I had been researching Nikon camera packages I found several packages of varying products from several companies, but Abe's had a package which included the items I wanted I made the purchase on-line, and promptly received several emails over the next hrs asking me to call them back(I have an unusual address, so thought there might be a problem there) I called back only to find they were trying to sell me a battery and charger for the camera I was rather surprised that the camera didn't come with it, ( lesson learned....NEVER assume with Abe's) And yes, I got the very customer-unfriendly Jef! We briefly wheeled and dealed a little on a price and upgraded battery What I discovered after the call, and I thought was slimy was that although I bought my package for (and was invoiced), they changed the order to reflect a new package price with the additional items, instead of running a separate transaction for the new additional items I purchased .....so if I only wanted to return the battery and charger....now I would have to return the entire camera package In addition, Abe's was very slow to shipThe way they conduct business feels sleazy and I can assure you, this will be the last time I ever do business with them I had purchased from Abe's several years ago with no problems; I wish I knew ahead of time that they had since changed handsSo my advice?? Look elsewhere!!!!!!! Seriously~! ADDENDUM: RCVD PKG TODAY AM NEARLY CERTAIN THIS IS A GREY MARKET PRODUCTNO WARRANTY CARD IN BOXTRIED SEVERAL TIMES TO PHONE ABES BUT NO LUCK BUYER BEWARE
