Windhaven Insurance Company Reviews (%countItem)

Sixty days have passed *** my car was totaled. I have not been reimbursed.
August 8, my car is rear-ended at a red light by a motorist carrying Windhaven insurance. My car ever so slightly taps the truck in front of me. Three weeks later an adjuster comes to declare the car totaled. week after week goes by. No one from the company ever contacts me. They shift the case around to three separate adjusters. I call periodically and they say that they are waiting for the third party to file a claim or not. I have contacted the third party myself and they have said they had already given them their information.

The claim number is
ICNXXXXXXXX-XXX-XXX

The latest in a line of adjusters is Joel U. at ext 8994#

Desired Outcome

I just need the totaled value of my car and reimbursement for 10 weeks with a rental. I just want to get on with my life.

While my car was being repaired at the body shop, I used a car rental.I am suppose to be reimbursed for paying the rental and have not yet.
My car was in the shop getting repaired. I was told by Windhaven that I would pay for my rental first then send in proof of payment of car rental and I would be reimbursed as long as it didnt exceed $25.00 per-day. I sent in proof of payment of the car rental on 09/23/17 via fax. I called on 10/2/17, and left a message with the adjustor handling my claim #SELXXXXXXXX. He has not contacted me since receiving the fax which I know because a rep confirmed on 10/2/17 before transferring me to his extension that they have my fax. The date of damage to my vehicle was 08/3/17. The day I started renting the car while my vehicle was being repaired was 08/28/17 and this rental ended 09/21/2017. I faxed proof of payment of rental on 09/23/2017. I paid out of pocket for this rental $713.42. I have not received any updates in regards to being reimbursed for my out of pocket expenses for car rental. Even during the process to get my vehicle repaired it was a hassle, and the adjustor handling the claim was very rude to not only me but the body shop as well. I also called the adjustor and left a voicemail and he never called back and updated me when the body shop was asking for a supplement.

Desired Outcome

I would appreciate a mode of contact from the insurance company giving me an update on my reimbursement as well as reimbursement for me renting a vehicle since my very own vehicle was being repaired causing a great inconvenience to me as I go to work and go to school full time.

Got rear end by negligent windhaven insurer and company delaying claim.
On 7/20/17 I was rear ended by a windhaven insurer. As of today 9/20/17 I Still have to wait on a settlement for my car which is considered a total loss. Since the insurer hit 2 cars( including my vehicle) I have to wait until windhaven knows the amount the other accident victim's insurance will pay before sending anything. They stated we have to split the XXXXX policy. Meanwhile I had to get a rental car costing $1500 which is included in the XXXXX policy. They urged that I have my insurance company help fix my car since I'm supposed to get a portion of the $10000. I can no longer afford a rental and they will not send me a portion. I am the victim and my frustration is to the roof. This company is terrible no one should have to wait this long. All I've ever heard is someone will contact you.

Desired Outcome

Send me the settlement that I am owed asap.

Windhaven Insurance Company Response

To whom it may concern, we are in receipt of your correspondence. At the time of this response, due to the number of claimants involved in the claim, and, the possible limits issue that exists, we are unable to issue any payment until all parties involved have submitted their subrogation demands for review and payment. Thank you for allowing us to respond.

Customer Response

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I should be able to get something for now since a payment is due to me. I have been waiting so long. I have 2 kids and work 25 miles from my job. This is not right. I should at least get reimbursed for my rental of $1500 while I wait for the rest. I understand there is another party involved and I am sure if the policy is $10000 I am subject to half. I am at risk of losing my job due to transportation issues because of your negligent insurer. This is very frustrating and inconvenient. I DO NOT ACCEPT YOUR RESPONSE.

Windhaven Insurance Company Response

To whom it may concern, we are in receipt of your correspondence. Our insured's policy has limits of $10,000. Due to the multiple claimants on the claim, and the limits issue that exists, payments will only be issued once all demands from all parties are received. Contact attempts have been made to the other claimant's insurer in efforts to obtaining their demand amount. Once all demand amounts are received, payments will be issued pro rata to all parties involved. Thank you for allowing us to respond

The company made a false promise to repair my vehicle as a one time courtesy at no fault to me
On or around 08/10/2017 I called to report a claim at the time of reporting my claim I was told vy the representative not to worry that the problem with my vehicle will be fixed as a one time courtesy at no fault to me which was not true and nearly 2months later im still with out my vehicle.an insurance appraiser came out and said my problem was mechanical and they denied my claim after verbally committing to repair it I then call my adjuster Mr.Grady k and was accused of trying to get the money for the damages and I told him I dont want the money I need my truck fixed he then told me to have my truck towed to the local repair shop if I wanted it fixed I did and its still their till this day. I called the ajuster Mr. Grady K and he transferred me to his supervisor which was not the supervisor I was aware of as his supervisor after explaining my concern to this supervisor I was told that their is no way I could have been told this I then reminded her that these call were said to be monitored and recorded and the information I stated to her can be replayed by them to verify my statements to her she then refused to provide me with her name or title and the insisted on ending the call I repeatedly ask for her credentials and she ended the call it was not the supervisor I knew of and she was very unprofessional the company's representative made a verbal commitment on a recorded line and I feel that it should be honored

Desired Outcome

I would like for the company to honor their promise to repair my vehicle as promised during the initial reporting of my claim on or around 08/10/2017. I would also like a formal apology form the company for the way their employees acted on our phone call on 09/18/2017 at or around 11:00am

Windhaven Insurance Company Response

To whom it may concern, we are in receipt of your correspondence. Two appraisers independently inspected the complainant's vehicle and both determined that the damages to his vehicle were due to mechanical breakdown or failure. Damages due to mechanical breakdown or failure are specifically excluded on the complainant's policy and as such, no payment for repairs will be issued.
Thank you for allowing us to respond

Customer Response

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
The appraisers are not licensed mechanics to deem that the issue was mechanicalnical and furthermore a transmission does not just break in pices for mechanical reasons this is a solid steel body the company is not honoring the initial promise to fix my vehicle at no fault to me then send our an appraiser to have them say its mechanical issues to avoid paying for damages I do not accept this responce and would like help in how to take this to the next level in the legal system the company has commited a fraud and it needds to be legally addressed if I have full coverage on my vehicle how is it not covered by the policy I never once say an appraiser come out to check my vehicle but they are stating two came out and expect me to take their word but they are not mechanical experts to say this I had lorenzo ford tell my that this cannot be a mechanical issue but they are insisting it is to avoid paying for the damages

Windhaven Insurance Company Response

After the complainant reported the claim on 8/10/2017, a thorough and reasonable claims investigation was conducted. Two of our appraisers inspected the complainant's vehicle and determined that the damages to the complainant's vehicle were Mechanical damages. Mechanical damages are specifically excluded on the complainant's policy therefore no coverage will be afforded nor any payments issued for this claim. We trust that this responds to your concerns and addresses each of the issues set forth. Thank you for allowing us the opportunity to respond.

Customer Response

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
The company is claiming the damages were mechanical to avoid paying for the damages and then had me to have my vehicle towed to a shop to get fixed and then is denying the claim I would like the company to produce the recorded calls from 08/10/17 to 09/25/17 in reference to this claim I was promised a repair prior to any appraiser looking at my vehicle and the company should honor the promise made to me by their representative on 08/10/17 to fix my vehicle at no fault to me my car has been sitting at a shop for about a month now and I was told by the adjuster to have my vehicle towed their if I wanted it fixed only to have them say its mechanical issues as to why its damaged when my vehicle parts clearly show sings of damage to the parts that are in question.if the Revdex.com can not get the company to produce these recordings and honor their promise I will be forced to take this case to the next step and hold the company liable for all damages and work missed due to the companys lack of honoring their promise I have done reserch on this com0any and have found that this form of denying a claim is quite common in their previous claims and reviews and need to be addressed accordingly

Windhaven refuses to make whole on my vehicle that their client totaled. My pickup has a book value of $14,000. They are only offering $7,000.
On 8-11-17, our vehicle was at a complete stop waiting for a red traffic signal at the intersection of N Florida Avenue and Independence Hwy. in Citrus County. Windhaven's client, driving at a high rate of speed, crashed into the rear of my vehicle causing damage to the rear bumper, truck bed, tailgate, tail lights, frame, spare tire carrier, spare tire, fuel storage system, braking system, rear axle, and drive train.
Windhaven agreed to accept responsibility for the accident and assign a claim number to the event. Their initial offer was for $1,200 to settle the accident. Our vehicle could not be safely driven so we had it delivered to ABC Body Shop in Ocala, FL.
After a review of the damage by Windhaven's estimator, they attempted to settle for $1,800. We spoke to the body shop owner to find out that was nowhere near the cost to repair the vehicle. Windhaven asked the body shop to remove the truck bed so they could see more detail of the damage underneath. After a second review, Windhaven agreed to call the vehicle a total loss. At that point, Windhaven made a final offer (by phone) to settle for $7,000. They arrived at this figure by taking what they say is their maximum exposure of $10,000, then subtracting the value of the crashed pickup. They assess the crashed value at $3,000. Windhaven also refuses to take ownership of the crashed vehicle, hence forcing us to pay storage fees at the body shop and disposal fees of the totaled vehicle.

Current financial profile:
$14,000 Book Value of the Crashed Vehicle

$7,000 Windhaven's Offer to Settle (10k - 3k)

($7,000) Financial Injury remaining

My complaint is that we did nothing wrong. Now our vehicle has been totaled and we are $7,000 short of trying to find a replacement of equal value. We also have other expenses because of the accident - Rental Car, Additional night in hotel, Medical, Lost Time, Vehicle Storage and disposal.

Is this common in Florida for a no-fault driver to be left with expenses caused by someone else?

Desired Outcome

I would like for Windhaven to pay for ALL of the damages and expenses caused by their insured. We were stopped at a red light and had no influence at all on the actions of their client. Now we have no vehicle and they are only offering to pay a small portion of our expenses.

Windhaven Insurance Company Response

To whom it may concern, We are in receipt of your correspondence. Contact has been made with the complainant advising him to go through his own insurance as the value of the vehicle is greater than the coverage afforded by our insured's policy. Thank you for allowing us to respond.

This company have not paid for the damages to my car. I have called and emailed them regarding my car.
My car was hit on July 18, 2017. They sent a letter in the mailed regarding me meeting up with the adjustor which I did. I have not heard from them about the damages to my car. I have emailed the claims rep and also left messages with *** the Supv to call me. No one has called nor have I gotten any current documents from them since the letter asking me to make an appt with the adjuster. One phone I made a representative told me the check was approve for 2,173.00 & approved for a rental. This is all verbal. He assured me they would be mailing out the check two weeks ago. I still have not gotten any documents stating this information. Nor have they paid for my car damages. I made the last call today asking to speak with a supv, but I was told I would have to leave a message on her voicemail. I have yet to heard from anyone. *** is the Claims Rep. He has not responded to calls nor my email.

Claim Number: CTXXXXXXXXX
Policv Number: TXASXXXXXXXXX-XX
Loss Date: XXXXXXXXXX

Desired Outcome

I would like to get my car repaired and obtain a rental while my car is in the shop. My car is a 2008 CRV Honda I am done with trying to speak with anyone. I have gotten the run around from everything and not call backs nor emails. I took off from work today to get this addressed. Missing my pay as a teacher.

Windhaven Insurance Company Response

An inspection has been performed on Ms. vehicle and an estimate generated on 8/28/17. The assigned adjuster missed the document. We have now issued payment for the damage in the amount of $2,173.04 made payable to Ms. and her attorney, Sherman Anderson.

We hope this satisfies your inquiry.

Complaint Response Date bumped because: Hurricane

I was involved in a car accident with someone insured by this company on 8/23/2017, today is 9/2/2017 and I am still waiting on approval to fix my car
I was in a car accident, I am not the driver at fault, already provided the other driver's insurance company with a copy of the crash report, have been calling them since the same the of the accident when I filed the claim. I took my car to the shop they asked me to to get an estimate and now I am being told that until they get a hold of the insured driver to ask who was the driver at fault they will not authorize the repair of my car. I need my car repair asap as I drive it to work on a daily basis and I ***'t know how serious the damage caused is. I was told that until they get a hold of the insured driver they can't authorize my repair. The crash report I provided list their insured person as driver one which is the driver at fault and it is not me. I was also told they needed to wait on the police report which when I contacted the police dept. was informed it may take another 10 business days to have it available.

Desired Outcome

I need the insurance company to give me authorization to take my vehicle to the shop to have it fixed as soon as possible. I ***'t want to continue driving my vehicle without knowing the severity of the damage caused by the other vehicle that rear ended me.

Windhaven Insurance Company Response

At the time of this response, contact has been made with our insured and liability has been accepted. A call has been placed to the complainant t and a voicemail message left explaining payment for damages to her vehicle has been issued and sent to her address on file.

Customer Response

(The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)
It's true they've contacted me however there are details that have not been clarified and after calling and leaving a message I have not received an answer. Still waiting on copy of estimate and specifics of payment for car rental .
