Melissa M was excellent and the Worthy team's Customer Service was top notch! I would highly recommend this company!

Worthy.com Response • Feb 28, 2019

Thank you for sharing our experience and for recommending Worthy to friends and family.
Much appreciated. The Worthy Team

Worthy gave me $128 for my $2000 ring. They did not give me the option to make my own price. I immediately called and told them I wanted my ring back and I was not going to continue with their service. They told me I had to reject the payment which I did through my bank. I spoke with 3 different auction managers who have done nothing but give me the run around. Most of the time did not even call me back. I was told my ring was being sent back to me but they still have my ring.

Selling of engagement set sent to be graded and was incorrect. I tried to contact them for original purchase details of correct ring from *** and didn’t receive any response. I wanted to cancel the sale and set reserve price and the site doesn’t allow users control to change the selling information. Very unsatisfactory place and believe I was scammed for a very low sell price.

Worthy.com Response • Apr 05, 2019

Worthy has been attempting to contact *** and had not been able to connect with him. *** chose Advance Payment for his auction which is defined by accepting advanced payment, Worthy pays upfront the stated price and if the auction exceeds that price, Worthy then issues the difference. Each payment is less the service fee. Below is the email that was sent. Worthy see this auction as closed. We are happy to speak and our VP Operations, Jill R has reached out to him for a call.

We're happy to inform you that the auction on your 0.17 CT Round Cut Bridal Set Ring, H-I, I1-I2 has ended with a winning bid of $118.28—more than your advance payment! That means you have another payment coming your way!Auction Summary:Auction ending price: $118.28Worthy Success fee: $26.02Advance payment: $73.71Remaining payment: $18.55

The seller selected the Advanced Payment method as is illustrated in the attached 2 emails that clearly state the upfront payment for the ring and the additional payment that exceeded the upfront guaranteed payment. Also, the seller has questioned the description of the ring used for his auction. Worthy sent the ring for a 3rd party, unbiased grading report tot the IGI Lab, a grading lab that reviews rings in their settings, the report is attached as reference to show that this is the report that is used as the basis for the auction description. It is important to state that Worthy lists each component it is description, meaning the size and characteristics of the center stone individually along with the number of minor stones, metal so that the buyers at auction know exactly what the item consists of as they bid. This is in comparison to a retailer jewelers description where the total carat weight is stated, and not the individual stones. For this ring the center stone was identified as 0.17 - 0.20 in size, I1/I2, H-I with 91 minor stones each 0.006 in size. The total carat weight of all the diamonds is stated as 0.75. The rings description was accurately stated when auctioned as per the IGI 3rd party report and seller received payment. Worthy has provided an accurate and transparent service throughout the auction.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# ***, and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:I I reject the response as No proof of any 800 professional buyers. I have listed already what will be acceptable. This Worthy is worthless and scams me out of my almost 2k for less then 5% of return! I emailed and tried to cancel auction before it ect started Worthy takes advantage of and scams out of costs with untrue unfound “professional buyers”. This company will continue to scams 1000’s of people! Revdex.com has the obligation to protect its consumers from fraud companies like ***n New York.

The staff were kind and did the best they could as far as I am aware with talking to them over the phone. However, the company seems scamy. They did not actually tell me a price as to what my ring was worth. My $2500 ring which is still in circuit and currently sells for over $3000 new seemed undervalued. The first offer of 107 was deemed a fair market value. I refused that offer and multiple offers until my max bid reached $286. I declined this offer as well, received an email which notified me that a worthy employee would be contacting me. 1 email and 2 weeks went by, so I contacted worthy. It was one excuse after another. I received my ring in the mail with 2 diamonds missing out of it. I am currently attempting to have worthy fix this mistake they've made on their end. Totally and utterly an unsatisfied customer.

Worthy.com Response • Feb 19, 2019

Worthy's mission is to educate and identify the actual characteristics of your ring so that you can get the best resell value at auction. Retail pricing is very different than the resell value. Retail pricing is made up of the retailers markup. What is important is to know the actual facts, the scientific make-up of your diamonds. Worthy works with 3rd party, unbiased labs and provides a grading report. You submitted your ring as a 1.24 ct center stone. When reviewed at IGI it was graded as a .17-.22 center stone, HI, VS1-VS2 with bearding and feather inclusions. Your ring was placed on auction, you declined the offer, Worthy returned your ring. We have been in direct contact with you as we have confirmed that three of the eight-eight smaller side stones had fallen out. We have sent you a new prepaid shipping label to repair your ring. This is in progress and Worthy will be repairing your ring, matching the IGI grading report with .0066-.0069 round I-J, SI1-SI21 side stones.

Customer Response • Feb 19, 2019

Actually, the receipt from original purchase states the middle diamond is .24 which is what I let your staff know. Your labs assessed it between .17 and .22, an in between difference of .05. I'm unaware of the actual purchase power of a .17 diamond versus a .22 diamond in weight. However, the ring itself has multiple stones in it. I'm not sure of the total count, but i'd like to say around 88 (possibly more) which does not include the diamonds you can not see on the inside of the mount covered by the 2 wedding bands. I am also unaware of the total weight of the small diamonds varying in degree, while some weighing slightly more than others added to the .17 to .22 weight carat center diamond. The overall experience with worthy has been stressful and 107 dollars does not seem like a fair offer regardless of the ring itself. I could further look for whole sale of diamonds with the same clarity and characteristics along with selling the actual weight of the 14k gold itself and maybe make more than 107 dollars as a fair offer. It seems that there's a difference between what I as a seller deems fair and what worthy sees as fair. I will say that even though worthy seems unfair in aspects, it does prepare its customer service adequately when dealing with customers that do not always see eye to eye with the corporate business model or ethics is seems.

Customer Response • Feb 19, 2019

I had not considered this until now, but I am currently wondering why my ring was sent back to me with 2 of the 88 visible diamonds missing out of it. I assume your labs had been grading them and forgot to put them back in my ring before shipping. I specifically told staff at worthy how the diamonds can very easily fall out of my ring and that's why one must be careful when cleaning it.

Josh R and the rest of the team that helped me sell my engagement ring were great to deal with and got me more money then anyone I had talked to locally or from the online jeweler I originally purchased from. The whole process was quick and they got me the amount I wanted within 7 days with no additional money out of my pocket. It wasn't the normal auction experience like *** more like a Dealers only car auction but again they got me more than anyone else would or could so I would definitely recommend them.

I was at one time involved in a customer service situation where extreme valuables were being shipped all around the USA by fastest means possible, 500 or so times a day. The one thing that always helped in any good or bad situation was STAYING IN TOUCH, an action that is surprisingly hard to get people to do (most will hide, or, worse, lie). This business nugget Worthy has obviously incorporated into its overall customer experience and general approach. I had a used *** watch to auction, their bidders weren't impressed with my reserve, and the watch was returned, in better shape than when it left (they had polished it). Though they could pick up the pace a bit (I was a first time seller, and so was suspicious), they kept in touch at regular intervals, at times when they were supposed to, or times they promised, or just a call to see how I was doing during the process. We were not talking about a *** $$, but they were every bit as attentive as if we were. Melissa M was my point of contact, and everything was breezy, friendly without being cloying, and direct. I asked if I owed them anything (they had paid for *** the watch to them, the inspection, grading, cleaning, and phototgraphy of the item, and when it didn't sell, its *** return). Owed them zero. THEY ARE EXACTLY AS ADVERTISED, and their personnel, esp. Ms. M, add to their worth, so to speak.
p.s. I ended up selling the watch on another site, and what convinced the buyer to buy was that Worthy had done its due diligence of ensuring the watch wasn't a fake. Sadly, there are many fakes floating around on the well-known sites -- Worthy should partner with them and offer a value-added service to the buyer. The sellers already know the quality of their item. Buyers beware, without Worthy.

Before this interaction and auction with Worthy, Inc., I had never dealt with Worthy before. I found them on line which was my first piece of Good Luck!!!
My second was in having Josh R as my Auction Manager. He was patient, helpful in every way especially to someone who had not gone through this experience prior. Worthy is exceptionally lucky to have Josh as their representative. Not only will I use them in the future but I will recommend Worthy to all my associates because of the great job that Josh did with my account.

It was a pleasure to work with Melissa. From start to finish she was involved and working on my behalf to get help me get the target price I had set. My auction did not meet the reserve I had set, but she was able to work with the buyers to find a price point that was close enough to what I was targeting - and in my opinion, worth saving me the effort of having to go through process of completing a transaction on my own. This was my first time using this service and if everyone there is like Melissa, I would definitely use it again.

Melissa was great to work with. She was there for every step of the process which I appreciated very much. There’s a bit of uncertainty about selling anything online yet I felt very comfortable working with Melissa and Worthy. I was pleased with my auction result, the process from start to finish and would recommend Worthy.

I have to admit I was truly anxious when I left my engament diamond ring of 1 carat at the *** office to be evaluated bu the GIA but not only each representative of Worthy were very professional but I received e-mails explaining at what stage of the process my ring was. When ever I needed a reply to a question I was able to reach a representative that was confident in knowledge and friendly.
It is Worthy! ... to use Worthy! Not only I receive in timely manner the money minimum guaranteed but I was able to follow the auction onlineof my diamond and receive payment in about 3 days on my bank account.
It was seamless and rewarding and I feel like a new person with extra cash that I will not spend on anti-depressors! Yay to Worthy ! Not only you will receive a very fair value of your jewelry but also if you have a diamond of acertain value, hey never lose value

Melissa M worked with me each step of the way. I was made aware of each process and once the rings were at auction, she helped negotiate the highest price from the bidder.

I sent my wedding set in good conditions. I took pictures and a video before sending the ring to the company. I asked them to send me the ring back. When I finally opened the box and checked the ring. The ring were stained. They have a mark like the metal was melted or exposed to heat from the same side. One of the rings from the set was never used. I was in perfect conditions. The rings I received were damaged. I was extremely disrespectful and disappointing. The diamonds of the ring don’t the same. It was like the ring was tampered with. I’m starting to think the company is a scam.

Worthy.com Response • Feb 08, 2019

When her rings were prepared for auction, Worthy cleans each ring a high sonic jewelry cleaner. Since many jewelers coat the bands(rhodium plating, which is a process used which gives the white gold its ultra white color by placing a coating over the existing metal). The ring metal was confirmed as being 10k with Rhodium plating. Worthy has reached out to *** and has stated that we can replate the ring. We can send her a prepaid shipping label for her to send in for repair and return to her.

What you offer is not a resolution for me. You damaged my rings and were very careless in the process. Who sends rings in those conditions? Do not expect me to struts you with my rings again. It’s not happening. FYI I have the price of those rings and is 6,666. That is the price of those rings. I had buyers that were willing to buy the ring.

I recently had the opportunity to work with the Worthy team, specifically Emma D and Josh R. The team was wonderful to work with and made the experience an easy one. Both individuals were accommodating as well as responsive. In what isn’t the easiest of circumstances, selling an engagement ring, the Worthy crew definitely provided the smoothest experience in this process. I would highly recommend utilizing them and their services.

As far as shipping and communication throughout the process, I was very satisfied. But the auction itself seemed strange. On their website you can see live auctions, but when mine was live, it was never there. I can’t even find it now in the recently sold rings. Looking through all of them, and the prices they sold, had me convinced that I would get a lot for my ring, because it was worth more than a lot of what I saw. Using the link provided, I could watch my ring while in auction. As it reached the end, the time changed to add additional minutes. I thought it strange, but also felt it could help the bids go up. The final bid was for less than 1/8 of what the ring cost. I was highly disappointed, but we’re in a financial crisis, and any little bit helps. But I am curious why the website only shows live auctions and recently sold rings for a much higher amount. Do you only publicly show rings that sell for more to keep up appearances? And I gave permission to remove the center diamond, but it was not removed and the weight that was apparently “guessed” was incorrect.
I wanted to believe in Worthy, but after personally working with them, I would not recommend them.

Worthy.com Response • Feb 19, 2019

Hi ***,
One our our new additions to the website is to see current live auctions, while hundreds are running every day, the live auctions show a snapshot and is a random view of 5 live auctions happening that day. For instance, today, 5 items are featuring live showcasing items in bidding process form $977.00 - $97,112.00. The buyers bid based on seeing the beautiful images and on reading the grading report. Your ring was submitted as a .5 center stone VS1 and the IGI grading reported it as a .45-.5 I-J, SI1-SI2, VG with crystal, cloud inclusion and thick girdle. Worthy asks all sellers upfront if they would agree to the removal of the center stone, should our Gemologist team determine sending to GIA, otherwise, IGI lab is used, as was done for yoru ring. IGI is reputable lab that grades the ring and diamond in it mounting. We understand your disappointment as retail pricing is the price purchased at a jewelry store and includes retail markups. Reselling using the Worthy auction allows for multiple and competitive bidding. Worthy is running hundreds of auctions every day, and successfully closing over 85% of auctions. We are directly aligned with getting you the best offer, our goal is your goal, getting you the best price.
