Review: I was contacted by phone in August 2014 for their internet marketing services. Nothing that was stated in the contract was done or was approved by me. This business is a scam. They have been billing me monthly to my credit card for $199 per month and have done nothing for it. I had requested cancellation of this service back in November and it was not done! I called the customer service dept and they said it would be cancelled and I would be refunded. Not one thing has been done or approved by me. I have made several phone calls and I just get bounced around from person to person with no resolution.Desired Settlement: I would like a full refund of this service. The total amount that has been charged to me is $1200.00

Review: Yodle's sales team was extremely confident that their SEO would generate clients for my business. They said that over 85% of their customers are repeat buyers and that they individually picked my business (they cold-called my phone) as a candidate they believed could benefit from their SEO. Their entire sales pitch revolved around generating clients for me. However, their SEO was unable to assist my business in generating any initial customer contact. Not one time in 90 days did Yodle's software create any market awareness for my business. At the end of 90 days I begged for a refund but they denied me one because they said that they never guaranteed any market awareness or initial customer contact. They only guaranteed ranking. But this was a shallow trick because they ranked my business on search engines and for search terms that produced zero traffic because they made no penetration into actually relevant search terms. They also misrepresented how attractive their landing-pages would be. It's generic and a stock design. I had to plead with them to customize it so that it looked like an actual website instead of a shell page. Yodle is not upfront about their no-results no-refund policy. I could understand the no-refund policy if Yodle generated leads but I failed to convert those leads to clients. But Yodle, in fact, delivered no leads in 90 days. Yodle is a sophisticated, data-driven company - they knew with statistical confidence that when they cold-called me they would not be able to produce any services for my business. All I want is a refund for the services that were not provided for me.Desired Settlement: I want a refund because Yodle provided zero relevant services for me. And they never disclosed their strict no-results no-refund policy.

Response:

Dear Revdex.com,

I signed up with Yodle a 2 week ago. They can't seem to get my website right. It looks infantile. The time I've spent correcting their mistakes I could have spent building my website.

1. The sales person said I could use my web address, which is untrue. They gave me a web address that did not state in any way what my services are. They finally got me a web address that makes sense but it's certainly not my company's name.

2. A manager seemed to understand bookkeeping services is not the same as tax preparation but their web writer/ developer told me I must have tax preparation listed as a service since that's my segment.

3. I get a call from someone that tells me they actually have a bookkeeping segment and they'll make changes accordingly.

4. I sent a document with the content I'd like to see on my website. They did a copy and paste to the web leaving their default text in it. Pages look repetitive and infantile. Fonts are different in every page.

5. I specifically was asked if I wanted my address to be public. I told them not, since I'm yet working from home. In every search I did my home address is fully disclosed on the internet.

6. When I use keywords to search for my services, I cannot see my website in the first 6 pages of search results.

7. When I search by company name I can see my company as a tax preparation service on the search results.

8. Customer Service is quick to apologize and be understanding but unprofessional when executing services.

I DO NOT RECOMMEND YODLE FOR MARKETING & WEBSITE SERVICES. Spend your money someplace else.

I have received fantastic results from my website and association with Yodle. I was amazed at how fast the first paying client called our office and the level of client that fits our profile of the client we want. I highly recommend trying their services.

Review: On March *, 2015 I received an unsolicited phone call from a Yodle representative regarding their web "boosting" services. After a 30 minute high pressure sales pitch I agreed to try their services which were designed to boost web presence through their unique process.

They initially built a simple, boilerplate website, which initially was completely misdirected in terms of what my business actually does. After numbers emails and phone calls I basically provided all new content to replace the erroneous material they had posted. I followed their guidelines for adding contacts, acquiring recommendations, and posting promotional photographs but after 30 days I still had no significant ranking on [redacted], [redacted], or any other sites that would promote my business.

Throughout the first month I had spoken with their representatives numerous times indicating my dissatisfaction with their services. Several times I indicated I wished to cancel the agreement, but was told to just be patient.

Finally on May *, 2015 I gave them written notice that I was not happy with their results nor their customer service and requested a refund of the $747.00 payment made initially. When they refused I contact [redacted] and disputed the charge. [redacted] has now responded with a letter from Yodle which claims that by "clicking the accept button" I agreed to their terms.

They have since removed all traces of the "website" they built for me, which were primarily made up of photographs and copy that I provided at my own time expense.

From the beginning Yodle was a high pressure hype with no value. They are all smoke and mirrors.Desired Settlement: Refund of the $747.00 payment made on March *, 2015

Sincerely,

Review: I cancelled my contract within 24 hours of signing up for their service via phone to salesperson [redacted] and email to [redacted], and was told by both that it would be cancelled according to my wish.

However more than a month went by, and the full amount that was deducted from my credit card $3987 on May [redacted] was never refunded.

I called and emailed [redacted] repeatedly, and was told that my cancellation request was submitted multiple times. However when I called customer service I was told that the cancellation request was never processed. [redacted] called and left me a message saying that they need to ask me some more questions before cancelling. I called and emailed back saying that I am firm on my decision to cancel and do not want to waste more time on this matter. I've demanded refund at least 5 times but was ignored. Their conduct is unprofessional and unethical. I will contact my attorney if they don't refund me ASAP.Desired Settlement: Refund me the entire amount $3987 they charged on my credit card on May [redacted] by next Monday, June [redacted], 2015.

I will seek legal action if they don't refund me ASAP.

Sincerely,

Review: Contacted in mid-August by sales rep and convinced to try 3 month trial agreement to try to increase my sales through an internet presence (I am a criminal defense attorney). I agreed primarily because it was represented as no strings, if after the three months I was not happy I was free to leave--no strings, no questions asked. I was also told that I wouldn't lose any money because I would at least make back what I invested in that initial 3-month trial period payment because it would keep being paid forward to the next month until I made that initial investment back. They told me they would call to see how it was going during the 3 months and at the end of the 3 months. I think I received one call during the 3 months, but nothing at the end. I was out of the country for approximately 3 weeks, leaving about one week after the three month trial ended. Shortly after my return (12/**/14), I received my mail from a friend who had collected it for me while I was gone. It was at this time that I saw my credit card that had a charge for $1,249.00 from Yodle, that was charged on 11/**/14. I called my credit card company on 12/**/14 to dispute the charge and they told me there was another charge on 12/**/14 from them for the same amount (I just hadn't received that bill yet). I told them I wanted to dispute those charges. They suggested that I at least try to resolve it with the company first, before disputing it with them, or else they are limited in what they can do. I had already called the sales rep and left a message, but I indicated it would try again. I spoke to [redacted] [ ###-###-####] on 12/**/14,who indicated I electronically signed an agreement to have a monthly amount automatically deducted, but she would listen to the sales call to see what was said. She called me back 2 days later and indicated that although there were some misrepresentations made that I signed the contract. She offerred to refund me $500.00 of the $2,498.00. I told her this was not satisfactory.Desired Settlement: I left the first message on 12/**/14 and spoke to [redacted] on 12/**/14. She indicated it was too bad I didn't call a few days sooner because the billing date was 12/**/14, and I needed to give them two days notice to cancel. I think I should at least get the December charge refunded in whole. I will swallow the November charge as a lesson learned, and I should have known better. But this business is expert in double talk, telling you one thing, but selling you another. As far as the electronic signatures, I think I gave my electronic signature 3 times, but it was glossed over within the bulk of the set-up. Again, I am an attorney and shame on me for not reading everyting I sign. However, if I were told, this signature allows us to bill your credit card automatically after the 3 month trial is over unless you cancel 2 days before that 3 month trial is over, I definitely would have said either wiat a second you said there were no strings OR what date is that so I can write it down, in case this 3 month trial period is a flop.

Sincerely,

Review: I signed up over the phone and was told that their services were $100 a month, which I wrote down. Granted, I am a 31 year old educated male and very coherent when it comes to pricing. They refused to change the price once I found out that they were charging me $200 per month. I also found out that I had entered a six month contract that I was never told about and did not authorize.

I was promised that the site would start producing phone calls after 90 days, and it's not. The site isn't ranking where they promised, it's not being viewed, and it's not benefitting me in any way. I feel taken advantage of, and the contract was not disclosed to me. They are saying that I am unable to cancel now.Desired Settlement: I would like all of my money refunded and my unauthorized contract with them to be voided, and no further charges!

Review: Paid 6 months in full. Very unhappy with the service. I have been with them for 2 months now and they still have not fixed any of the issues I have. Poor Grammar on all my pages that I have Been asking then to fix since the 1st day. Listings in categories for the type of work I do not do. They keep telling me the problem was fixed and it takes 48 hours to run and fix but still after numerous attempts to get then to fix it nothing was done.Desired Settlement: Would like my money returned.

Review: On Jan [redacted], 2014 I was contacted by a sales representative, [redacted], from Yodle who gave a presentation on the services provided. The graphs and charts represented a conservative estimate of 10 calls in the first month. He misrepresented this number and after 3 weeks, I only received one call. Initially, I was reluctant to sign-on yet gave my credit card information for a 3 month campaign, costing $2,997.00. On Monday, Jan [redacted], I called [redacted] and left a VM that I wanted to cancel. I received a call back from [redacted], who said he was my account representative and said I would be dealing with him now. We went over the program again and he began to service the account. On Tuesday, Jan **, I once again called [redacted] to confirm my cancellation and he returned the call immediately. He said it was too late to cancel and that I need to give the program more time. After three weeks, only one bona-fide call was registered. On Monday January **, I once again called ** to confirm my cancellation. He said he could not do this and would have to give to his [redacted]. [redacted] called me the next day refusing a full refund and continued to give rhetoric on why I need to stay longer in the program. I continued my request for a full refund and we hung-up no resolve on his part. I immediately called the disputes department at Chase Visa for help in resolving the issue. On February **, I emailed [redacted], Director of Corporate Relations, yet she's left the company. I received another call back from [redacted] who offered the last months refund of $999. plus $600 in the unused advertising budget. He said I had used up two months already since they pay in advance and we were now are past 30 days the original sign-up date. I continued to demand a full refund to no avail.I then received a call from [redacted], who took over for [redacted]. We discussed the matter in detail and he said he will look into what would be fair for a refund. He stood firm that NO ONE gets a full refund.Desired Settlement: A full refund for $2997.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me and the matter has been resolved.

Sincerely,

I signed up for a six month trial period and it was the biggest waste of money ever! I am a small business and must spend my money wisely. In six months with almost $2000 spent I received two, yes 2, phone calls from their site trackers. Both those people were fishing for a cheap massage (I'm a massage therapist) and never made an appointment. They didn't seem to know what massage was even about and lead me to believe, although I have no proof, that they are people hired to make calls.

While the company says I agreed to an auto renewal contract I know that I said I did not want my credit card information on file and that I did not want to have to remember to call and cancel...and yet I was charged an additional month after the initial contract. While I know I am not going to get the $300 back for the additional month I am still very unhappy.

Not only did I receive NO business from this group but they were not willing to refund the additional month. Now not only do they have more of my money but they have my time trying to get everything resolved. If you think about doing business with them make sure you record your conversations as I believe this is not a truthful or quality company. I will NEVER do business with them again!!

I've had the pleasure of being solicited by Yodle on two occasions. The first appointment I agreed to was "no showed" by the Yodle rep. To show my appreciation for the waste of time, I spent 6 months ignoring their calls. Last week, one of their reps caught me in a weak moment and I agreed to a video presentation for this morning. During the confirmation on Friday, I made them aware that although the decision is ultimately mine, I like input from my wife regarding our long term marketing initiatives. Fast forward to this morning, the presenter wanted confirmation after the 2-minute intro video that I'd be able to make a decision after the presentation. I told him no, citing the reason above. He immediately wanted to reschedule and get my wife on the call. I saw no reason to include my wife at this point based on my past dealings with Yodle and the 2-minute video. I told him I needed more to go on and that it was now or never for me. He opted for never. Based on much of the feedback here, it seems like he made the right decision for both of us.

I was first told my phone call would be 15 min, then at the very end they said block out 30 min. The actual phone call lasted 45 min, they were late calling me, the woman spoke very quietly as to not be able to hear and understand everything. It took me about 30-45 seconds of me saying "hang on, wait, stop" to tell her I just couldnt understand her. When she spoke up it was obvious that she was speaking from a wrote presentation. When I told her aspects were illegal in my department of work, she continued to talk about it. I tried to stop her and she spoke over the top of me. Seemed like they get you to say yes as many times during the conversation to get you to say yes at the end. I tried asking numerous questions. only one was answered the rest I was talked over the top of me. I was not satisfied with my phone call. I do not feel like they have anything special to offer and from what I can tell online they are given their rating for their "promise" and not their delivery of promises. from the two phone calls I received and the way I was treated on these phone calls does not help me have any desire to work with this type of company. i'd rather do my own advertising.

A bait and switch scan. I am so sorry I got involved with this company. Just try to get a phone number for their legal department or a fax number.

Review: On March [redacted] I was cointacted by [redacted] regarding internet services. After much badgering, I signed up and gave her my credit card #. Early the next morning I emailed her to cancel my purchase (March [redacted]). She did not respond so I called the company's customer service #, and emailed customer service to have my credit card be refunded the funds. ($998).

I received an email saying that a 'customer service representative would call me back. I emailed them back, telling them that was no necessary. They should just refund my money since I changed my mind. On March [redacted], I emailed them again asking about my refund. I received a call from [redacted] who told me he would take care of it. Then he proceeded to tell me how much Yodle had already invested in 'my success'. I asked him again to process the refund. He continued to filibuster. I had to hang up on him because he would not confirm he was going to process the refund.

Later that evening I received an email from [redacted] telling me the had to 'review' my refund at high management.

It seems to me they are trying to run out the clock and hope I will tire of trying to get my money back. Both contacts with this company have been negative. The people, [redacted], and [redacted] do not listen when you tell them something, and [redacted] is very high pressure. [redacted] will agree and agree about the refund, but not process it, refusing to confirm he will refund the money.

I received no services from Yodle,. I cancelled within hours of the agreement. Their refusal to issue a proper refund, and the delays and endless excuses are not tolerable. I want my money back.Desired Settlement: Refund

Review: We received a phone solicitation on how yodel would increase our business volume by positioning our company on search engines and they are a goggle partner company. After a long conversation, I was not comfortable about signing up for their services with out some kind of guarantee of increased business. I should point out that this was not cheep for a small company. I advised that the only way I would sign up was on a trial bases to be reviewed after three months. The leads received did not turn into any sales. A lot of times they thought they where talking to another company ( my competitor) and when I informed them who they were talking to they would hang up. Other calls were from trade sales people using the service as a way to find our phone number by using a cell phone. The whole program was a total disaster. The sales pitch was very miss leading. Once I realized that the trial period of three months was not what they advertised it would be, I tried calling several times to request a review which was agreed to up front. At the end of the forth month we called and left a message that we were not going to proceed after the first 3 months because of the less that promised performance in increase sales. Mean while Yodle continued to bill for the **and **month. They are now asking for the 4th month and dropped the 5th month. We finally spoke with the project leader and I was informed that I would have to pay for the extra two months because I accepted the terms on the internet. My excepting the terms was based on a three month trial period. Unfortunately payments are through a credit card and I have no recourse other than challenging the request for payment with the credit card company. I gave them a chance to prove themselves which they failed at. It is obvious that they use different measurements of success that the business owner. I do not feel that I should pay for the 4th month of billing in that they did not review the trial period that we had agreed to for a 3 month period.Desired Settlement: The fourth month of billing credited to my credit card account in the amount of $1449.00

Dear Revdex.com,

Review: I was contacted by Yodle telling me they could triple my leads from my online advertising by managing my Google Adwords and by getting my website listed at the top of the search engines. I told them I spend about $500 per month on Google advertising. They initially said they could get much better results for the same money. After listening to their dog and pony show, I agreed to give them a shot. I was pressured into making an immediate decision to get the pricing they were offering which was over double what I had been spending. I paid them for the first month $1249 of which $930 was to be applied to Google adwords pay per click. The rest would be used for search engine listings. The first month, they spent almost $800 of the money for Google Adwords and I received no credible leads. I expressed my dissapointment to [redacted], my account rep and he said it takes time. That may be true for search engine optimization, but Goggle Adwards should bring immediate results. Two weeks into the program, I asked [redacted] for invoices for the upcoming second and third months and Yodle charged my credit card for the second month and tried to charge it for the third, but it was declined. I only needed invoices so I could submit them to my company for payment. I never authorized them to charge my card a second time or to set up any subscription on my credit card. On 9/**/2013, I email [redacted] to cancel my account and requested a refund of the second month charge as I was not willing to fund this experiment any longer. They delivered no leads to me in six weeks causing my business to suffer tremendously. I have not heard anything back from [redacted] or Yodle.Desired Settlement: I would like a refund of all monies since they failed to perform the services they promised as well as the fraudulent charge to my credit card.

Dear Revdex.com,

Review: The salesperson sold our company a product and did not fully explain what was involved with the product that we purchased. The product sold to us was unnecessary and was not what was represented by the salesperson. We where lead to believe that we were buying services that would draw more attention to our current website and bring in more business by making our current website more easily found in online searches. What we received was a completely new website created by Yodle that included a new telephone number and new domain name. The new website created by Yodle would have caused confusion and distraction to our current website and the new telephone number would also be confusing to clients since it is not the current number that we have been using for the past 11 years. When we discovered that the product they sold us was not what was represented by their salesperson we immediately demanded a refund and that the website created by Yodle be taken down. Their salesperson has not contacted us back about a refund but instead another lady called us and said she was not sure if we could be refunded but instead was more interested in selling us additional products from Yodle and not interested in refunding us. She did not leave any contact information so we cannot get in touch with her. She did say she would call us right back with refund information but has never called back. Emails to their salesperson about the refund have also not been returned. We would like a full refund and for Yodle to never contact us again after our refund is received.Desired Settlement: To be fully refunded the amount our company paid for the service.
