Yodle, Inc. Reviews (461)

Horrible. I did have a session with a sales rep several months ago and determined that it is not good fit (if not ethical) for the type of business I operate. Since they keep calling and wasting my time. This time, the person pretended as if she was seeking a service, instead of introducing herself as a sales rep for Yodle. She also noted their system/platform has completely changed in the last several months, which I highly doubt.

Review: Yodle did not deliver on their promises re marketing and new client generation but they sure did take the $1800 they did not deserve. Basically they lied about what they would deliver and what their guarantee was and now I can't stop my credit card from being billed $299/a month for 6 months.Desired Settlement: I gave them 4 months to deliver but want my last 2 months of payments refunded. Thank You for your help !

Dear Revdex.com: We are very sorry to hear [redacted] did not have a better experience with our services. Please know this is not the type of experience we would like for any of our 50,000+ customers. We are currently working with her on a resolution and should she have any questions, she can reach out to Ron L[redacted] at ###-###-####. Best, Jessica.

Review: several months ago I was cold called by a [redacted] of yodle. I gave him the time to put on his sales pitch and his online demonstration. He wanted an excessive amount of money to sign up with yodle. I had told him that I had read previous reviews of yodle and didnt think they were very good. I told him I was not interested and he continued hounding me via phone and email. I told him to stop bothering me and had put his email on my spam list. All of a sudden today this same [redacted] is emailing me again nagging me to sign up for his service. I told him that I had previously said I was not interested nor will I ever do business with someone who is so aggressive obnoxious and push. I sent the message and blocked his email again and AGAIN this jerk emailed again.

I see from Revdex.com that my suspicions about this company were correct lots of people being tricked into paying lots of money and getting horrid results. They are no better than the other lead generation schemes (for law firms) that are pervasive on the internet.Desired Settlement: reprimand this weirdo and never have him or anyone else from yodle ever call or email my firm again.

Review: Services promised by sales rep [redacted] were not met. in an e-mail dated Mar. [redacted] that I retained from [redacted] she stated,"We will also be building you a free promotional site, which is normally priced at $497. [redacted] likes [redacted] promotional site and we will be able to do all the promotional call to actions he likes".According to the gentleman who was going to be building the website, He stated that he couldn't perform what I was promised. ie having coupons on the front page, making me a site that resembled the one that I wanted that [redacted] stated they could do. or even making a site that I would be pleased with. I requested that yodel refund my money in full seeing that I made the request (verbally and in writing via e-mail) before midnight of the third business day in accordance with the Sunshine state law. I was told on Friday Apr. [redacted] that only a manager could refund me and they would have a manager call me within one business day. A manager did call me ([redacted]) who after 15 minutes of trying to ,"hard sell" me again, refused to give me a refund. She told me that she would have to review the telephone call that we just had in order to make a decision. by the way, she never asked for my permission to record our phone call nor did she informed me that she was doing so.Desired Settlement: A full and immediate refund of $499.00

Response:

Dear Revdex.com - we have resolved this issue with [redacted]. We're sorry that he wasn't pleased with Yodle's services, and we wish him all the best. Thanks,[redacted]

My experience with Yodle has been very bad. When I initially engaged their services they were supposed to create a website and then manage our organic and PPC internet presence. I had been doing my own Google Adwords for some time, but they talked about their proprietary algorithm that would help make sure that I stayed in the top of the PPC activity at an optimal price and they would help my organic placement. I worked with them to show the adwords campaigns that I had been using that were successful (big mistake) and off they went. Initial activity was not really any better than my own campaign efforts. Then, I noticed that my PPC prices were starting to escalate without any changes in activity level. It's important to note that Yodle was a PPC reseller. I discovered that they had entered into a contract with one of my direct competitors, had used images from my website to create the one they made for my competitor, and based upon a quick review of search terms discovered that my competitor was showing up every place I was. My Yodle rep assured me that the account were managed by separate people and there was no way that they had shared my search terms. When I asked about the images they tried to tell me that some of them were stock images. When I asked about their algorithm and suggested that by contracting with two businesses in the same geographic area the algorithm was simply going to continue to escalate the price of clicks without changing the activity level they tried to tell me that the algorithms for each account were different?!? I fired them immediately and told them I never wanted to do business with them again. I signed up with a new company called Outrank.com to perform basically the same services but with a guarantee that they would not accept clients from the same industry in the same geographic location without notifying me. They had a guarantee about where I would be placed on web searches for my industry in my region. They did not meet those terms. Service was supposed to be free if you weren't on the first page. After their non performance for a period of time I called to cancel but my account rep asked to do an SEO on the account and I said fine, but did not want to continue to pay for the non-performance, he agreed. Little did I know that shortly after I contracted with them they were purchased by Yodle!! Since we saw no improvement in placement and had no contact from the outrank folks again I assumed we were done. In a recent audit I discovered that they had continued to charge a company credit card for over two years. Not once were we contacted, sent any correspondence, nor were we receiving any activity from the alleged work they were doing. When I called about this I got a nice young man who was helping me to resolve the issue. We had an extensive dialog for a couple of weeks to resolve the issue only to have is suddenly stop. Now I can't get a response back (I only email at this point as I discovered they don't honor what's said on the phone). Stay away from these guys.

Review: I was contacted by a salesperson from Yodle who presented a service I thought might help bring more accounts for my business. I accepted the offer and paid $1948.98 on March [redacted], 2013. This was for 3 months worth of service. After the first month of getting zero calls I found out they did not have my information up to receive calls. They extended a month for that issue. Once I did start receiving calls they were wrong numbers EVERY time. I was getting calls for everything except for the service I was offering, which is property management. I was fielding calls for people looking for a dog on Craigs List, for a person looking for a water heater, for people looking for their mortgage company, looking for their bank, and people trying to pay rent to another property management company! I spoke with customer service several times and they kept saying they would make adjustments. The nice thing about it is the calls were recorded so they heard everything and knew I was not making this up. I did ask for a refund and they denied it saying they would keep making adjustments and that several callers hung up so they could have been potential good calls. I told them, "Why would I believe they could be potential good calls when every call I do answer is the wrong number?" Once the time frame was up for the time I paid for I asked to cancel the service. They kept charging my card every month until September when it finally stopped. They did credit for the three months they charged that was not authorized but did not credit for the initial charge. If a company charges for a service that is not delivered, the customer should get a refund and that is what I am asking for. Thank You, [redacted]Desired Settlement: Refund the money paid for service not provided

Response:

Dear Revdex.com,

Review: On July **, 2013 my firm signed up for Yodle's Ad Marketing "Silver" campaign. I paid $500.45 at sign up and was given access to my Yodle Dashboard to begin tracking my progress. We began receiving calls after the first couple weeks that had nothing to do with our business. Even the missed calls I followed up on were from people that had no ideal they had called an accounting firm. I contacted Yodle, was told we must have a phone number assigned to us that should have been discontinued and they would correct it. We still continued to receive bad phone calls that had nothing to do with accounting services. I continued to allow Yodle to have time to run their campaign and give them the 60 days they encouraged was what they needed to get this campaign straight. I'm a patient person, so I waited in "good faith" that I would begin to receive at least a couple good leads from Yodle. I did everything on my end to help by reviewing every call via the Yodle dashboard and continuing to follow up on every missed call received. There was never one single call made via Yodle's assigned phone number that had anything to do with accounting services! I finally contacted Yodle and cancelled 3 months into the campaign, around early Oct, and after paying over $1,500 to Yodle. I was contacted by [redacted] upon cancellation because he said he wanted to find out what happened and resolve this with me. I was told this campaign was the worst he had ever seen and he apologized. He asked that I give him some time to contact the necessary departments to come up with a resolution. Again, I am patient so I agreed to let him do this before proceeding to file any complaints on my side. From there I was given the run around for weeks with no one getting back to me, him saying he would call and then not calling, etc. I finally insisted that he call me back to resolve this because I got billed again another $592 from Yodle! Another issue he assured me would not happen, but obviously did... He kept telling me he had a solution and wanted to talk to me directly, so I waited for over a month. Today when [redacted] called me back and finally spoke to me I was told that Yodle did not find an issue with my campaign so there was nothing they could do!!! After all the weeks of waiting and spending almost $2,000 on this campaign with NO results and NO resolution I cannot believe that this is what Yodle would respond with. Even on the phone acknowledged that all my calls were horrible and that this was a terrible campaign but there was nothing he could do about that. I am appalled that there are businesses scamming companies out there for marketing services that they cannot provide. Initially I was told upon beginning this whole Yodle campaign that I would be getting multiple calls a week to my firm about our services. So "the calls" I expected were the entire reason I signed up for this campaign. Now I've been told that "the calls" are not what Yodle was trying to do for me, they were just doing web optimization for my firm!?! Who would pay this kind of money to anyone without even 1 single call for accounting services in 3 months and how can Yodle be "ok" lying to the consumer that these calls are what they are trying to generate?!? I plan on notifying all my clients with my accounting firm immediately to NOT use Yodle, ever!! I patiently waited expecting some sort of resolution and refund to be made by Yodle after such a terrible campaign. I will make sure I continue to notify every person I can and every department at Yodle I can about this terrible situation until there is a resolution.Desired Settlement: Refund of my money and a "Real" explanation on why this campaign was such a disaster.

Dear Revdex.com -

Review: After being highly pressured to purchase services with Yodle, even accepting a discount to try Yodle I agreed to try them. They called me to set up the services and their site crashed multiple times while attempting to load my email contacts. The representative informed me she would place a trouble ticket in order to get the problem resolved and that she was, like myself, very disappointed for the inability to set up the service as promised.

Some days later I received a call from another representative that knew nothing about the crashes and said they needed to look into issues that they thought they were having but no one has called me since.

I have emailed Yodle but have not heard back from them. I called my credit card company today to cancel and dispute the service agreement and I think it might be reasonable for the attorney General to look into their company to determine if they are fraudulently and pressuring people into signing up but not providing the services the promises.

I am very disappointed and concerned that I have been scammed.

I want to be refunded and not charged for any future service nor contacted by this company since the agreement date of less than a month ago and continues to fail contacting me back.Desired Settlement: Refund and cancellation of all services without charge.

Review: I had unpleasant experience from day 1 using the services of Yodle inc. Starting from high pressure sales with a number of misleading facts to billing mistakes, not responding to calls or e-mails . Not a single time I received an answer for the questions asked . Representatives trained to avoid direct answers . Managers transferred to have the same level of competence as an entry level reps . Number of leads promised actually was 10 times less . Phone calls transferred in circles , connecting to the person you talked to in the beginning after 5 transfers . I stopped using the service , but a person introduced himself as a manager started abusing us with calls . When I got back to him with heavy pressure sales techniques he was trying to convince increase the budget to increase the performance and reactivate service . While never receiving a confirmation from me via an electronic signature as a previous manager done, company proceeded billing my credit card on-file . I stopped using all the services and kept just a website for 6 months as far as I did not have an alternative one . I took a big loss using Yodle's services . I am not asking a refund for guaranteed products delivery which never happened , but the last transaction .Desired Settlement: $ 2706

Review: We were contacted by a Sales Representive and told they could improve our calls and leads. We have searched for our company online where they stated our advertising would be and can not find our ad. We have contacted the Company and they tell me it takes time. After a few phone calls now I find out our ad is only on during certin times. No one can tell me the times, again people have searched for our comapnay and can not find it any where on any search engine. We paid $3,448.53 up front. I had read the compalints and they assured me these were not true when I asked them about the complaints.

I had to go over our adversite and make the changes. Again, our ad to never be found. The rep tells me we are getting traffic on our advertise, but can't show us where our ad is located.Desired Settlement: A full refund of our 3 month up front fee of $3,448.53, our account to be closed and not contacted again

Review: In their initial sales presentation, they emphasized the need for a mobile compatible web page as well as a local centric site. They indicated that it would be reasonable to expect FIVE TO TEN contacts a month from local searches. While I don't have proof of their claims, I do have an email that indicated they would refund my third payment if I did not have 15 contacts within the total of 90 days. The customer service manager indicated he would be shocked if that did not happen. I received three contacts to include one hang up. Neither of the other two contacts were local. While they do seem to be effective to get a specific search i.e. San Rafael Retirement planner which is also the domain ranked well they could not convert any of the inquiries to contacts. I would suggest that is because their very simple web page is not suitable for a professional despite their claims that they have a lot of success with web pages for professionals. While I understand the difficulty to guarantee results with advertising, my complaint is with the disparity of their initial and ongoing claims for expected results. Also, I found their performance for Google AdWords to be very poor in comparison to my own. Unless you want to be a low cost provider I don't see how they can be effective.Desired Settlement: I would like a full refund.

Response:

Dear Revdex.com-

Review: I hired Yodle inc to run a campaign ad for my business as [redacted], pay for 3 moths , at the end of 3 month I send and email to cancel and they did not cancel at that time they cancel a month later and never return the money for the month., also request proof of service or money back and they never send me proof that they in fact run the ads.

also after they cancel they never removed the telephone number that they use in [redacted] for business place, now when potential customer search for my business the dialing the wrong number costing me hundreds or thousand of dollars for lost business. also I seem my customer writing reviews to the listing they create it by mistake instead of writing in my listing.Desired Settlement: I need the refund of the last month that I cancel and they charge my card.

I need for them to show proof of advertising my business or refund for the first 3 month that I agree with the service.

I want for them to removed the phone number and webpage with my business name in it, but for them not to affect my raking in [redacted] that I had build in my own.

must of it not to erase the reviews that my customer had written for me.

if this is not possible then provide with password of the listing so I can manage it, or change the phone number to my and webpage to my and leave he listing in [redacted] alone.

Review: Sales person was misleading and was not truthful about services to be provided. Foliowup with those handling the account provided additional facts about the service that if known up front would have changed my decision to engage in business with yodel.High pressure sales presentation that is misleading.Desired Settlement: Refund of 1000 dollars

Business

Response:

Dear Revdex.com,

Sales person giving the the presentation was too agressive and unrespectful.

If you say no, not today to to business he guest agressive.

Review: Problem #1 with the product is that after three months on a trial period I have only received a handful of calls actually about the business I was advertising. After plenty of phone calls to my representative I was told that the advertising would be reworked and it would meet the promises made for categories such as SEO optimization, area targeting range, key word search, and first page listings on Google and Bing. The problem was never fixed and as a result I have received 95% of calls that are wrong numbers, people claiming that they never called or saw the advertisements. On the fourth month I was also charged again - Even though it was not in any contract, nor was it approved. I have tried to reach my representative but she does not respond to emails or calls made.

The area range was to be 10 miles, but I have received calls from people 20 miles away. I have received calls from people using a 411 service in Indiana. I have received calls for other doctors. In short, I wish I had never set up any business with the company.Desired Settlement: Refund $1647.00

Business

Response:

Dear Revdex.com,

After paying upfront of $1500 for three months, they took out 499 on the fourth month without authorization. We wanted to cancel and get a refund of the $499. They refused. They asked if I read the terms and that we had to cancel 15 days prior etc. What a scam. Companies like this are evil and don't deserve respect. The sales person didn't make that clear. Any company should apologize and just return the money because we are the customer that is not satisfied with the service. You got $2000 of our cash and we got NO NEW JOBS OR CUSTOMERS OUT OF IT.

Review: On Thursday, December [redacted] I purchased Yodle's "Marketing Essential" online suite to help support my internet marketing efforts for my company based in [redacted]. Shortly after I made the purchase, and after a few interactions with representatives of the company the following week, it became clear to me that what I was sold wasn't exactly as advertised by the sales rep I worked with.

It was difficult to understand what work was being done on my behalf to bring customers to my business. When it became apparent that the service I was paying for was to create another website separate from my already established website and drive internet traffic to the new website, I lost all faith and trust in the service I purchased. I no longer wish to do business with Yodle.

In a sense, and as I now understand, I was in effect paying this company to direct traffic away from my branded website (provided to me by the parent company I am franchised with, and which I already pay a monthly fee for) to this new website they created which the sales rep called an "Adversite". I repeatedly asked the sales rep during the sales process if this will harm my current SEO established with my current website. He said "no", but when I asked another company representative what the procedure would be to verify my company's listing on internet directories, I discovered it included duplicating efforts already done earlier this year by another company I work with. This is not what I wanted and to my knowledge and understanding of SEO this will damage my overall business.

In summary, this is not a service for an already established business like mine. I felt as though the sales representative didn't listen to me and was only concerned about getting a sale. I also felt he misrepresented the service he was providing.

Yodle knows of my dissatisfaction because earlier in the week I filled out a company survey. A representative from the company responded in an email asking I reply back with a date and time for him to call me and discuss. I responded and did not hear back from this person. Instead I received a call an email from their representatives wanting to continue the onboarding process for listing my company and setting up my account. I called back at least two more times today to speak either to the rep who emailed me about my survey or anybody in the company to request a refund. The response I received was either someone was "in a meeting" or "on the phone" and they would call me back.Desired Settlement: I seek a full refund of the charges made to my credit card, closure of my account with Yodle, and no further charges made to my credit card.
