Just used All My Sons for a local residential move We had all the furniture moved The movers communicated well and were extremely competent They tackled tricky furniture in difficult locations with ease They are well trained and experienced with how to move furniture I appreciated the care with which they handled the furniture and the home The price was reasonable and pro-rated to match the actual time moving The contract was explained and executed clearly Thank you All My Sons

returned to our old apartment to wait for ***By that time it was dark, and the temperature was frigid and below zeroWe were exhausted and very nervous and scared returning back to our apartment as we did not know what was going to happen and what time the move would be finishedWe were supposed to be out of our old apartment by 1:p.mthe same day and had relied on the All My Sons contractual commitment that the move would be completed within to hours; or by the latest 1:p.m
At 9:p.mthat evening, *** finally arrived at our old apartment*** was alone and our items were still on the truck back at the All My Sons Warehouse
After having already endured a full day of emotional trauma because of the All My Sons movers, *** refused to move any of the remaining items in our old apartmentHe claimed stated that our belongings were "improperly packed" although we had packed most of the items, such as the bagged clothes, at the instruction of the moversWe had also followed the All My Sons instructions for packing that we receivedI was so frantic by ***'s refusal to complete our move and without any recourse whatsoever for moving our belongings at that late hour, I called the Minneapolis Police in hopes that they could enforce All My Sons to complete the move we had hired them to do
The police arrived but were unable to assist us as they stated that it involved a civil matterRather than accept any professional responsibility or demonstrate concern whatsoever for the predicament All My Sons' employees had caused my husband and I, both *** and ***, the owner who was on speaker phone with ***, made outrageous and statements to the police alleging that it was my fault that the movers had left us hanging
The nightmare continued as I plead with *** to complete the moveI was in tearsIt was bitter cold and well below freezing that eveningOur new apartment had concrete floorsIf All My Sons did not complete the move, we would be forced to sleep on frigid cold floors as our beds were on the truck and would not be set up*** yelled at me on the phone when I asked him if he felt it was okay to force a disabled person to sleep on a concrete floor, to which he replied that he was fine with thatMoreover, I had prescription medication on the truck which I was required to take that evening*** still refused to help us and complete the move*** repeatedly told me that his sister had passed away for which I felt compassion but did not understand how that fact would prevent All My Sons from completing our move
I plead with *** and *** until 10:p.mto complete the move but they refused*** left stating they would be back to unload the truck with our belongings at 8:a.mthe following morningMy husband and I were left forced to complete the move on our ownMy husband had to call a friend to ask if he could borrow his vanHe then had to go and pick up the vanMy husband was forced to solicit the assistance of a near stranger in our old apartment building who agreed to assist my husband move the remaining boxes and itemsIt took my husband and this acquaintance three trip loads in order to move the remaining belongings from our apartment
I was forced to help them so that we could complete the move that All My Sons was hired to doI suffer from a back and neck disability and developed tendonitis in my elbows as a result of lifting the heavy boxes
It took until 12:midnight that evening to move the remaining items from our old apartmentBecause All My Sons refused to complete our move, we were forced to sleep on the cold concrete floor in our new apartment on nothing more than our coatsMy husband and I could not sleep all night and we woke up in great painWe are still recovering from the physical toll the move and sleeping on the cold floor took on us
The following morning of December 2, 2014, *** arrived at 9:a.m., an hour lateImmediately upon arriving he presented us with a bill for $We immediately paid the bill with our credit card, afraid they would leave and take our belongings if we disagreed with anything they saidThe movers proceeded to roughly and quickly move our things in, bending and breaking things as they wentI was handed a candle in piecesMy stereo was brokenMany items were bent and scratched or broken or missingThe movers haphazardly delivered the boxes and other items with no organization whatsoever, putting heavy boxes on top of fragile boxesIt was a terrible mess*** was present for a short time and jokingly stated, "Oh, you weren't kidding it was a concrete floor!" and then stated to his movers, "This is why I make the big money!" and then leftHis comments and lack of compassion are the most egregious and unprofessional actions I have ever experienced
On December 5, 2014, five (5) days after the scheduled move, the landlord from our old apartment notified us that there were boxes belonging to us under the stairwell of our old buildingThese boxes, twenty (20) in total, were left by the original movers and we were completely unaware that they had been left thereIt is a miracle that our items were not stolenWe had to ask a friend to help us to pick up these remaining boxesWe are still reviewing the boxes to determine if anything was stolen
All My Sons was aware that I am disabled as I informed them at the time that I hired themTheir egregious and outrageous actions endangered our safety and jeopardized my health furtherI have permanent damage in both my arms nowMy husband and I are recoveringWe had to cancel installing cable for days, because of the moversI had to send the cable guy back, because there was nothing hooked up for him to work on
On December 19, 2104, my doctor informed me that I have developed permanent damage in my arms as a result of the lifting I was forced to do to assist my husband move the remaining boxes, to add to the disability already in my neck and backWe are and years old
Based on the breach of contract by All My Sons by refusing to complete the move as contracted, and in addition, the emotional and physical injury we were forced to endure as a result of the foregoing outrageous, intentional acts by All My Sons, this letter demands full reimbursement in the amount of $2,as settlement for our injuries

Re: Demand Letter - Breach of Contract, Injury to Property, Emotional Distress
Dear Ms***:
This letter shall serve as written notice to you of our demand for compensation in the total amount of $2,as a result of the egregious and outrageous treatment my husband, *** and I suffered as a direct result of the failures and actions by employees of the All My Sons moving companyI have attempted in good faith to negotiate with you a fair and just refund of the $2,we were charged for the move, but your latest offer to reimburse us $is unacceptable given what we were forced to endureIn addition, I am permanently physically disabled and I suffered further physical injury because I was forced to assist with the moveThe details are set forth below
On or about October 27, 2014, I requested moving service through the All My Sons website at www.allmysons.com for a residential move in Minneapolis from our former apartment to a new apartment approximately miles awayOn or about October 27, 2014, I spoke with a representative who informed me the hourly rate for the move would be $per hour plus 12% for the cost of gasThe following additional terms were agreed upon for the move and confirmed by All My Sons with a confirmatory email on October 27, 2014:
The move would be for a bedroom, 1/bath apartment, plus one storage unit
The move was scheduled for December 1, at 8:a.m
The move would be from our old apartment at ***, Minneapolis, MN 55406, to the new apartment located at Second Street S.E., Minneapolis, MN
The move would take approximately - hours and included delivery and unloading of all our household and personal items to the new apartment, and the sof beds
We were to box up all our items except for clothing
All My Sons would provide garment boxes to us upon their arrival December 1, which I confirmed with All My Sons two more times prior to the move date
A copy of the confirming email is attached as Exhibit "A."
Your employees breached the terms of our contractual agreement cited above and willfully intentionally and maliciously committed the following acts which caused us to suffer tremendous emotional and psychological trauma, and physical pain which we continue to suffer to this day:
Prior to the December 1, move date, my husband and I boxed and packed our entire apartment and were ready for the move, except for a few large items as well as our clothing which was to be packed by All My Sons the day of the move in garment boxes All My Sons were to deliver
On December 1, 2014, the movers from All My Sons ("movers") arrived at our old apartment at ***, Minneapolis, MN apartment in one truckThey arrived at 9:a.m., minutes lateThe movers failed to deliver any garment boxes as agreed uponOne of the movers instructed us to place all of our clothing in plastic bags and stated that that would be fine and acceptableWe complied
At 2:p.m., after having packed the moving truck 3/full with our household and personal items including our beds, the movers announced that they were going to go "grab a bite." They stated that they would meet us at the new apartment on 2nd Street after picking up something to eat to deliver the items they had packed and then they would return to our old apartment to retrieve the remaining itemsWe drove over to new apartment and waited for the movers to arriveThe movers had our cell phone number and were to call us for any issues
When by 3:p.mthe movers had not contacted us nor arrived at the new apartment, I began to call All My SonsI was forced to call All My Sons repeatedly over the course of three hours - from 3:p.mto 6:p.min a desperate attempt to find out what had happened to the movers and our belongings and why the movers had not arrived at our new apartment nor contacted us
Over the course of these several hours I spoke with "***" in dispatch who was mortified as well because the movers were not responding to his calls eitherApparently *** got ahold of the driver who called meThe driver claimed that he had attempted to locate our new apartment but was unable to do so although I know that he had GPSWhen I attempted to explain to the driver how to get to our new apartment he hung up on me and never contacted me again
Finally at 6:p.m., after four (4) hours of waiting at our new apartment for the movers, I was informed by *** from dispatch that the movers had abandoned the moving truck with our belongings at the All My Sons warehouse in Maplewood which is located approximately - miles from our new apartment and then went home leaving us strandedI found out later that All My Sons fired these movers
*** informed us that he would send *** to our old apartment later that evening after 8:p.mto pick up the remaining items the movers had failed to pick upRather than satisfy the contractual agreement we had for the move to be completed, we were told that *** would complete as much of the move as possible but only up to a certain limit of time

I have moved seven times with professional moving companies. I know what a well packed truck of my goods looks like on both ends of a move. Not once have I ever had boxes marked fragile put on the bottom of a stack of boxes. Not once have I found heavy lawn equipment or heavy motorbikes on TOP of any load. Not once have I found PARTS of furniture pieces, including wooden doors, a vanity leg, and bun feet, tucked between cushions on the opposite side of the truck from the furniture. Items like this do not "shift" themselves in between cushions on the opposite side of the truck. You mentioned that you didn't have the proper "equipment" to pack the truck. Not once did you ever tell me that you required straps/ties in order to secure our goods. You only said that we needed padding. I gave you $for padding and you assured me the padding would be wrapped around all furniture and would prevent damage. Nevertheless, many furniture pieces arrived without secured padding and SUSTAINED DAMAGE AS A RESULT.I only claimed damages from TWO boxes that I personally packed. The cost for those items was less than $500. The major damage occurred to FURNITURE that was improperly cared for, including pieces that were obviously SLID along the floor of the truck without padding or cover. Replacement value of the FURNITURE damaged beyond repair was near $19,000. And that doesn't include the costs for repair of FURNITURE. The total value of our claim, had we asked for replacement of everything, was $84,000!! How in the world can you justify that "shifting of items during transit" caused $84,000 worth of damage to furniture?! You can't. You know that's a ridiculous claim as well as I do. Damage of this magnitude IS a direct result of improper handling. It is shameful that a moving company is allowed to damage goods to the extent that your company did and then deny any responsibility. YOUR men handled our goods, YOUR men loaded our goods, YOUR men didn't properly pad, YOUR men didn't load the trucks responsibly. YOURS.

We received a quote from All My Sons (AMS) moving, for our local move May 25- What we did not know was that Mr*** had significantly under-estimated the truck space & time needed for the job Had he quoted more accurately, we would have made other arrangements
Mr*** looked at our entire house's belongings two separate times, confident that our belongings would fit into a 26-foot AMS truck & our 12-foot truck AMS crew would load & unload both trucks The truck we provided was a 14-foot truck, bigger than expected We packed our truck more than half full prior to loading day We also got rid of several boxes of belongings, two tables & eight chairs & a few other items We understood that estimates have a certain margin of error & hoped that doing this preparation work would ensure moving day would go smoothly

In response to the statement that Jacob Pyle checked in, he did, but it was right after they arrived at the house to pick up (minutes after) which was too early to assess productivity and efficiency of team However, the team arrived without tools to dismantle furniture - we had to provide them with the tools.The team was moving slower at the house of destination - in fact, at one point, had to go to truck to see what was going on.When JC ***, Visual Estimator, talked to us initially, he recommended that we accept the $.60/lbitem choice because he said "they use professional movers - no damage; no additional insurance required".We have not stated that there is intentional delay in processing claims; our complaint was that it took three days for the claims department to contact us after we sent emails and phone calls and were told the claims department would get back to us that day The response was "didn't read e-mails" and we have been too busy.All the photos were not attached to All My Sons reply to you - there were photos attached - I tried to attach the others, but couldn't attach them all.Regards,*** ***

The services were still performed and the men were there working during the time the customer was charged, I do not know about the statement "for $we will be gentle" if a mover said that, it needs to be corrected and we will look into that internallyThe customer is stating they do not want to file a damage for claims but want a full refund for a move, I cannot see a justification in a full refund or 75% refund on this moveThe customer was charged the absolute minimum for this move and also there was no charge applied for packing materials

***All My Sons still holds that we are not responsible for your claims for the following reasons: When you first enlisted the service of ALL My Sons, it was to place your items from your home into our storage and then into your new homeRegardless of what is in your estimate, you changed your arrangements with All My SonsWe did not change them with youWhen you chose to enlist the service of another agency our contract with you is no longer validWe are not an insurance company and we do not offer blanket coverage of shipments not in our careWe will not offer valuation for another company you hiredWe will not cover shipments not in our careIn your letter, you said that we claim *** *** could not verify the condition of your items, when in fact we claim that they did not dispute the condition of your itemsYou also write that we packed your items in a careless mannerThis is simply not trueThe pictures that were attached show a shipment that very much was shifted in transitThe *** boxes are obviously not boxes belonging to us and not boxes we would have packed We have no way of knowing their integrity and the way they were packedWe cannot assure they were packed in a manner that would prevent them from being crush such as being completely full, or filled for supportAdditionally, in your shipment you did pay for paper padsWhereas they are better than nothing, they offer the minimum amount of protectionHad we shipped this ourselves, your shipment would have been quilt pad wrapped and strapped inWe will not nor are we required to give away thousands of dollars of equipment to a third party service because you chose to use them I hope this addresses your concerns. -Jacob P***Operations ManagerAll My Sons Pittsburgh
