Wonderful customer service! They took great care to make sure we were taken care of.

Never buy Sharetrade warranties. Plan description does not really explain the process once you file a coverage claim. I just filed a claim due to lines on TV LG OLED. they claim it is a burn-in which video clearly shows the lines are moving across the screen so how can it be burned in. NO Technition came to may house. They just cancelled the plan and nothing can be covered. NO dispute or visit technical support. Completely deceptive plan and service.. Bestbuy protection plans are 1000% better. don't throw your money away buying this. if anybody knows any class-action lawsuit against this company send to me. DO not buy sharetrade. do Not trust Allstate company. This is the REAL support customers are get during this difficult times.
Look the video which they denied coverage.

I purchased a warranty plan through eBay when I purchased an item a year ago because it stated “5 day service guaranteed, we’ll repair your item in five business days or less after we’ve received it, guaranteed” and so many more things offered that were not there was no fine print. When calling the company to have them fix this and get my product fixed because that information was a lie they refused and telling me that there was nothing they could do because it’s all the system they does it and there was no way around it. I asked them many times to fix the lie they was advertised. Here I am with still a broken product

We're very sorry for any issues encountered during the claim process. SquareTrade offers various resolutions for each claim. These are determined based on your device and the issue reported on the claim. One of our options is the Fast Cash resolution, which provides the customer with an express reimbursement and does not require the device to be returned to us. Although a lot of customers favor this option due to the quick turnaround, others may not, like in this case.We are always willing to reevaluate the claim to determine an alternate resolution when necessary, and, as we did in your case, the claim was successfully updated to a resolution that satisfied both parties.

Allstate Protection Plans Response • Apr 24, 2020

Squaretrade always does our best to offer repair and replacement resolutions as our first priority, and a reimbursement is typically an option reserved for atypical situations. Due to the current Pandemic and availability of replacements through our vendors, we can not provide a replacement at this time. Although we're a repair based protection plan, the limit we cover throughout the life of your plan is the purchase price of your item. We are unable to provide reimbursement above the cost paid for the item or warranty cap, whichever is lower.

I purchased a 50 inch *** Roku tv and extended warranty from square trade on February 10, 2017 from *** club in New Port Richey FL. It was a 4 year protection warranty. We mounted the TV on the wall and had no problems with it until a few days ago when the screen started jumping. My extended warranty says they have free on site service for TVs bigger than 37". They insisted I take the TV off the wall to find the serial number. After finding the serial number, there were new lines on the TV. I sent pictures and videos as requested and now they are saying there is physical damage. There isn't even a scratch on this TV! The only thing that ever touches the screen is a swifter duster. This warranty is a scam. My TV was never damaged.

We apologize for any dissatisfaction the consumer has regarding their recent claim experience.SquareTrade's protection plans are extended warranties designed to provide peace of mind by protecting against mechanical and electrical failures. However, there are issues such as physical damage that we do not cover under our warranty agreement. Our goal is to provide our consumers with efficient and effective resolutions. We do our best to make the consumer's experience as hassle-free as possible. However, there are necessary actions consumers must take to help us move their claims forward, such as providing the required model and serial number. Although we may ask our consumers to gain access to this information before completing the claim, it is the consumer's responsibility to acquire it in a way that does not harm their device.Upon reviewing photos of the consumer's TV, our trained television specialists identified that there are cracks and a point of impact visible on the screen. When there are any signs of physical damage, whether accidental or intentional, we will deny a claim due to the violation of the warranty agreement. To better help the consumer, we have already reached out to them to provide insight and assistance regarding this matter.

I bought TV at *** with a protection plan from SQUARE TRADE powered by ***. The brochure provided at time of purchase by sales rep states that tv is covered for drops and shattered screens. The protection plan is active at the time of purchase. I had tv for 33 days. The legs on the tv proved faulty as the legs slid off dresser and tv toppled over causing screen to crack. I tried to place claim with square trade who rejected my claim stating my TV was not covered. They said the brochure was misleading and although it says it covers the tv for damage that it actually does not! The brochure is deceitful. False advertisement about the covered item. There is NO protection with this protection plan. I need my tv repaired replaced or my money refunded for this purchase!

We're very sorry for any issues encountered during the claims process. SquareTrade mirrors the manufacturer's coverage for our TV protection plans. Since TVs are intended to be stationary, not portable, accidental damage from handling is not covered or offered as additional coverage. The SquareTrade warranty contract states, "What is not covered: Accidental damage, cracked or damaged monitor, laptop or display screens, liquid damage, lost buttons or knobs, etc. unless optional accidental damage from handling (ADH) coverage was offered and purchased at the time of sale with Your Protection Plan.Although we do our best work with all customers, in some instances, we may be limited. As for this case, the issue was caused by physical damage, therefore, we were not able to process a claim. Nonetheless, we hope to provide a better experience in the future as we greatly appreciate your business.

Allstate Protection Plans Response • Apr 24, 2020

We apologize for any confusion in regards to your warranty coverage. The SquareTrade brochure is designed to showcase the types of coverage we offer and some of the products that are eligible for coverage. Our TV protection plans mirror the manufacturer's coverage. Since TVs are intended to be stationary, not portable, accidental damage from handling is not covered or offered as additional coverage. At this time, due to the miscommunication, we have reached out to the customer and provided a satisfactory solution.

Revdex.com:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

Square trade has offered a refund off 118.00 and an apology for the misinformation of its accompanying brochure for the protection plan. I just hope and pray that nobody else has to go through this experience that I encountered with this company.(Square trade) Their customer service department was brutal to say the least! I am however extremely grateful to the Revdex.com for being a driving force behind my complaint, from the beginning and all the way through resulting in a speedy and satisfactory resolution. I thank both parties for taking care of my complaint with Square trade. I look forward to receiving my refund check of 118.00 as promised.

Sincerely

I can not get someone out to fix my desktop

We're very sorry for any issues encountered during the claim process. SquareTrade offers various resolutions for each claim. These are determined based on your device and the issue reported on the claim. One of our options is the local repair invoice, which allows the consumer to have their device repaired locally at the location of their choosing. Once repaired, they provide an invoice for reimbursement. In the event the item can not be repaired, we require documentation before moving to an alternate resolution. We are always willing to reevaluate the claim to determine an alternate resolution when necessary, and, as we did in your case, the claim was successfully updated to a resolution that satisfied both parties.

Squaretrade always does our best to offer repair and replacement resolutions as our first priority, and a reimbursement is typically an option reserved for atypical situations. We apologize if there was any miscommunication regarding the expectations for your claim.

Due to the current Pandemic and availability of replacements through our vendors, we can not provide a replacement at this time.

I would give them a Zero! After filing my claim on March 31st , I was told my replacement phone would be here in one to three days. Mind you I already paid the deductible on March 31st. It is now April 15th after several phone calls and e-mails they told me they are not replacing my phone and will not refund my money that I have paid for insurance over the past two years. What good is insurance if you cannot use it! I will never have nothing to do with SquareTrade or Allstate again! Come to find out they never had the replacement phone in stock to begin with. They have received there last penny they will ever get from me! Asurion is the way to go for cell phone coverage!

I purchased a Sony XBR-65X900E TV from Amazon, in which I purchased the four year SquareTrade, protection plan. On the first of April of 2020, the remote had all of a sudden stopped working. I did my due diligence and tried to get the remote to work by looking up manuals or any sites I could to attempt to fix the issue but the inept documentation of Sony for remotes and all other methods to fix the issue did not work.
So, what does a consumer who purchases a protection plan do when their product stops working? They look at their extended warranty in hopes that they can resolve it. When I called SquareTrade and informed them of my remote issue, they asked me again if this was caused by my damage. I said no. I said my remote had dropped less than two feet on a carpeted floor before but there was no damage and the remote control had worked for a very long time (years) after that. They informed me that since my remote control was dropped and could not prove that the drop caused the problem they could not replace the remote. I can guarantee that my remote and TV suffered more damage during transit from wherever the TV was manufactured to Amazon and finally delivered to my home than a two foot drop of my remote on a carpeted floor.
I know, this is just a remote but it is more the lines of a company trying to get out of their obligations and finding any excuse to do so. I could have lied to the company and informed them nothing but I am an honest person. SquareTrade is not a company with integrity with their policies and will never purchase them from Amazon again.

I just purchased a 3 year electronics insurance contract from SquareTrade via eBay for a set of earbuds and after reading the fine print of the contract, I find that I have some questions about the coverage and tried to contact SquareTrade to get answers. Their telephone line has an automated response and hangs up on me. I wrote to their customer service email (which I found via Google) and I received a reply telling me to call the toll-free number. I replied that I am not successful with the number and listed my 3 questions clearly. Again I was told to call the number and the email did not include the email thread. I replied back again and was given the same response. I now wish to have my answers in writing absolutly as I do not trust this company at all. They are not allowing calls and they do not answer email.

We're sorry you have experienced issues with your device. SquareTrade is an extension of the manufacturer's warranty that runs concurrently but does not take its place. For mechanical and electrical failures during the first year, we refer these claims to the manufacturer of the item since most of these issues are typically caused by defects or poor workmanship. However, in the event of a denial, SquareTrade can reevaluate the case and see what additional assistance can be provided. The warranty was purchased on Dec 31, 2016, and with the additional year of coverage expired on Dec 31, 2019. After reviewing the account, the only current active warranty was purchased on Dec 17, 2017, from another reseller. Since the warranty has expired, we can not process a claim at this time.

Allstate Protection Plans Response • Apr 24, 2020

We're very sorry you encountered this experience. The initial response to your complaint was intended for another consumer. Reviewing your account we see your questions have been answered. Please do not hesitate to reach out with any further questions or concerns.

I purchased a Dell Computer from Sam's club Dec 2016 Being a Sam's plus member I purchased the computer with my sam's plus membership card from square I was given 3 total years of warranty vs 2 when I filed my claim I was told I had to prove I had a plus membership even though online showed I am still under warranty. I asked to speak to a supervisor a male came on and told me my extended warranty expired in 2018 because it started when I purchased the computer and the Manufacturers warranty didn't count he was very nasty to me.

I purchased an item at *** and was offered a 2-year extended warranty from the cashier. This was sold through a third party named Squaretrade. The manufacturer includes a 1 year full warranty with sole exclusion of battery. The item was $260. and the extended warranty was an additional $39.00. Purchase date 3/5/2018. No literature was provided at the time of warranty purchase relating to the warranty. The only information provided was from the cashier verbally - asking if I would or would not want to purchase a 2-year extended warranty. It was not clear at the time of purchase that the warranty “runs parallel” to the manufacturer’s warranty; this would not be typical for an “extended warranty” and was not disclosed at the time of purchase. I feel deceived by the company, having purchased a warranty for 1 additional year when expecting 2 additional years of coverage. Based on research on extended warranty services, it is atypical for an extended warranty to run parallel to the manufacturer’s albeit not unheard of. Either way, Squaretrade has a right to run their extended warranty program as they see fit, however their unique terms should be explicitly stated at the time of purchase.

I purchased a warrantee plan for a printer from Sam's Club. I have sent in the printer on two occasions. The first time because it would not link to the internet. I received it back and the printer connected to the internet; however, when I went to print something, it would make a loud screeching sound, continually "Jam", and not print anything off... It was received in a worse condition than what it was sent in as.

I had to go through a bunch of hoops to get it back to the "certified repair techs". They stated there were no issues and sent it back... Well behold the issues still exists (luckily no screeching). Keeps saying paper jam despite there not being any. Printer only spits out blanks than sends off errors... Its a continued run around and a huge pain in the butt and give me the impression that you just throw in the towel and walk away...

I purchased a smart TV from *** and purchased insurance for it as well. The TV started acting up recently where the screen would just do odd things like not come on, the application icons would be longer appear and volume would randomly adjust by itself. I contacted squaretrade and they sent over a technician who simply exchanged the mother board I believe. He never even turned the TV on to check and he left. I turned the TV on only to realize the smartcast feature on the TV was missing. We didn't have cable so that was the primary way we watched TV, using it as smart TV. After many many calls and emails they had no idea why my TV didn't have this feature and some reps would even suggest that feature wasn't available on my TV any longer, which was absolutely ludicrous. I eventually did my own research and found out the TV needed to be updated to a newer version. Once I did that, the smartcast version was then available. The TV was working fine for only a few days and then it went back to how it was before, so not fixed at all. Frustrating to say the least to deal with them.

Allstate Protection Plans Response • Apr 14, 2020

We apologize for any dissatisfaction the customer has experienced with their claim.During a repair visit, a certified technician will come to the consumer to perform diagnostics and install the required parts. The technicians will also verify the status of the device's functionality upon completion. However, the technicians do not address software or firmware concerns. We have attempted to provide the consumer with the best technical support available for their device by relaying information supplied directly from the manufacturer. We have also recommended updates to the firmware, as stated by the manufacturer. While we do not cover software/firmware related issues under warranty, we do cover part failures and have contacted the consumer to provide support if that is the case. We will assist in resolving the customer's concerns.

SquareTrade allowed us to purchase a protection plan after 30 days without informing us that there was a 30-day cutoff to purchase such plan. After 2 years informed cannot file a claim due to the error on SquareTrades part. But willing to refund my protection plan. Not cover the external harddrive

I have experienced three interactions with SquareTrade’s a subsidiary of *** warranty program. They did not fulfill their warranty obligation for any of these without having to go to the store where the warranty was purchased or without multiple emails.

1. I had an extended warranty on an iPod through Sam’s Club. SquareTrade denied that I had a warranty even though I had a receipt for proof. I went *** and spoke with the manager. She called Square Trade. At this point, they acknowledged the warranty and helped.
2. In August 2019, a recliner I purchased at *** was broken. I contacted SquareTrade. I sent numerous emails containing photos and provided the receipt. They refused to acknowledge my emails. After several attempts, I printed the emails and included my receipts. Then I took them to *** manager. They told me to return the chair, and they would honor the warranty. They also told me not to deal with SquareTrade in the future. Staples also told me they no longer use SquareTrade for the same reasons.
3. On November 1, 2019, my Epson Work Force printer was malfunctioning. I shipped it to SquareTrade to be repaired. On November 23, 2019, I received my printer. However, the printer had not been repaired as it still had the same issue. I once again contacted them and sent it back. Each time I included a sample of the issue. They tried to say they found nothing wrong with it. The invoice stated they cleaned the printhead. I had already told them that the printhead had been cleaned numerous times before sending it to them and a print alignment had been done. When they returned it, this winter the cord was not returned with it, so I couldn’t see if it had been repaired. We were leaving for the winter to Arizona, so the cord was sent there. The printer remained in Montana. When we returned last week, I tried to use my printer and it has the same issue. I have maintained a copy of the issue and also a video at this time. I contacted them again on March 22, 2020 which was the last day of the warranty. They at acknowledged that I had a warranty on it. Then they said it had reached its max, and they would not honor the warranty.

I would not recommend SquareTrade a subsidiary of *** warranty company to anyone.

Allstate Protection Plans Response • Apr 13, 2020

We're sorry to hear that you're unhappy with us.When a device is sent in for repair, our technicians perform an audit on the device to ensure it is fully functioning before being returned to the consumer. Once a device has arrived back to the consumer, there is a 30 day rework period should any issues arise related to the repair. If an item does occur during this time, another claim can be filed regardless of the warranty status. SquareTrade protection plans have a limit for repairs and reimbursements up to the cost of the device. If the repair cost's total is equal to the customer's item cost, the warranty will be complete. Due to the consumer's issue occurring outside of the rework period, and the warranty is complete, we were not able to process a claim. One of our specialists is currently reaching out to see how we can be of further assistance providing a satisfactory resolution.

Allstate Protection Plans Response • Apr 14, 2020

We again apologize for the difficulty this consumer experienced. One of our specialists spoke to the consumer to discuss the situation and discuss if an amicable resolution could be reached. Based on our discussion both parties were satisfied with the final results, though we understand the consumer's dissatisfaction with their claim experience. Squaretrade will also perform an extensive review of this consumer's experience to see how it could have been improved and we have provided a direct point of contact within the company. We thank the consumer for bringing this to our attention and we hope the provided resolution improved their experience.

I purchased insurance for my cell phone thru Square Trade at *** Club. The pamphlet advertised 99.99 to sign up and $129 deductible. When I needed to file a claim they said my deductible was $139. I explain that when I signed up it was $129. They claimed they sent me a contract for $139. I told them that they can't change the amounts after I have signed up. I called *** to see if they were still offering the insurance. They said yes and that the price as $99 with $129 deductible. When I called Square Trade back to explain that it is still being sold with $129 deductible they said that it was wrong. This is false advertisement and cannot be allowed.

Allstate Protection Plans Response • Apr 10, 2020

We apologize for any issues the consumer experienced processing a claim on their device.Currently, our 2-year Smartphone Plans are being sold by Sams club for $99 with a $139. Our most recent Sams Club mobile brochures do indicate there is a $139 deductible. We have attached a brochure for reference. Due to the miscommunication, we have added notes to the consumer's account to ensure they are only charged $129 deductible for any future claims associated with this warranty. We have reached out to the customer and provided our direct contact information should they experience any further questions or concerns.

Allstate Protection Plans Response • Apr 14, 2020

We again apologize for any miscommunication this consumer experienced in regards to their warranty.Squaretrade is currently investigating this consumer's concern in regards to how our mobile plan is being advertised. Being a warranty company, Squaretrade is constantly updating our plans and modifying coverage based on market and product trends. While doing so, we also do our best to update our advertising and to ensure plans are accurately detailed before purchase. Squaretrade also provides consumers access to their warranty online, where the plan details and deductible amounts can be viewed. One of our specialists has reached out to the consumer and requested copies of their brochure to ensure this situation has been addressed with our partner. Though we are not able to provide an exact window or method of this being addressed, we can ensure it has been elevated to the most relevant department within the company. I purchased a warranty through Walmart for my HP Laptop. I’ve sent it the computer twice. The first time my chord was not returned to me from square trade and the computer was still broken. The second time the computer returned still broken. I called March 29, spoke to a representative that said if my computer arrived back broken I would be reimbursed for my laptop. I contacted square trade today and they want me to send in the computer again, and completely disregarded the fact I was told otherwise. They suggested I take the computer to a local repair shop, since COVID exists, we don’t have computer shops open in my area.

We apologize for any confusion or misinformation the consumer has received regarding their protection plan.We have designed SquareTrade cellphone protection plans to provide coverage for mechanical and electrical failure for our standard plans, and accidental damage from handling for our premium plans up to the limit of liability or until the max number of claims are reached. For each claim, we require the payment of a deductible. This price is predetermined and is provided to the consumer via their warranty agreement. We send our consumers a copy of their warranty agreement via email upon purchase or the registration of their item, and the consumer has access to it via our website. We can also resend the contract as an email or hard copy upon request. If the consumer is not satisfied with our warranty conditions or do not find value in the protection plan, they are free to request a cancellation and refund of the warranty contract. We understand the consumer was unaware of the agreement terms, so we have contacted them to provide additional insight and assistance in this matter.

I was given the impression that it would pick up when the other warranty ran out and not at the same time of the warranty.

Allstate Protection Plans Response • Apr 08, 2020

We apologize for any issues the consumer experienced with their device.

SquareTrade is an extension of the manufacturer's warranty that runs concurrently but does not take its place. For mechanical and electrical failures during the first year, we refer these claims to the manufacturer of the item since most of these issues are typically caused by defects or poor workmanship. However, in the event of a denial by the manufacturer, SquareTrade can reevaluate the case and see what additional assistance can be provided.

Due to the consumer's warranty expiring in 2018, we are unable to process a claim on the device.

Allstate Protection Plans Response • Apr 10, 2020

We certainly apologize for any issues the consumer is experiencing with their device. SquareTrade is very transparent with the coverage details and terms. All of our warranties run concurrently with the manufacturer allowing for SquareTrade to step in to provide coverage during the manufacturer's coverage term. The consumer purchased a 3-year warranty in 2015, which expired in 2018. At this time, due to the consumer's warranty being expired, we are not able to assist.

Customer Response • Apr 13, 2020

Complaint: ***

I am rejecting this response because:I understand the warranty expired but that is not what expected when I bought it. What is the point of buying warranty that is equal too or less then the warranty that comes with the item you are buying it for. There fore any person buying an additional warranty would think it is a warranty to cover once the manufacturer warranty expired not while the other warranty is going from the manufacturer it is a waste of money I would have never have bought it if I thought it would run at the same time. I was not buying this as oh I crack my cell phone screen and Apple won’t fit it. I bought this cover major computer hardware that was covered with a 3 year warranty. I thought this would cover it longer.

Sincerely
