I bought the protection play thinking if it broke its covered, and that what *** says that sell the plans. if it brakes they fix it or replaces it. this is not true they give you part of your money back, and you cant replace the xbox one remote the you have insurance on. I paid $38.99 and $5.00 for insurance and $3.62 in tax. which is a total value of $47..61 and all they square trade did was give me a gift card for $33.49 so am out over $14 and cant replace my item.

We're very sorry for any issues encountered during the claim process. SquareTrade offers various resolutions for each claim. These are determined based on your device and the issue reported on the claim. One of our options is the Fast Cash resolution, which provides the customer with an express reimbursement and does not require the device to be returned to us. Although a lot of customers favor this option due to the quick turnaround, others may not, like in this case.We are always willing to reevaluate the claim to determine an alternate resolution when necessary, and, as we did in your case, the claim was successfully updated to a decision that satisfied both parties.

The entire process was fast and easy to complete! The Shipping was real quick also.

I bought a Laview 8 Channel 1080p Wi-Fi HD IP NVR Surveillance System from *** online and bought the SquareTrade 3 year protection plan with it. The system was $549 and what the plan covers it stop working in February 20th. So I told SquareTrade about it. A few day later I was told to take it to a local repair shop to have them look and it and to try to repair it. The repair shop told me that it was unrepeatable because the main board was unavailable and the cameras where a no repairable design and I should buy a new one. So I sent in the invoice and at first they only wanted to pay for the check out fee and only sent a check for that fee. After complain to a supervisor they told me to have the repair shop rewrite the invoice with the new system on it and change the wording to have in it to say that the NVR & Cameras where Beyond economic repair. So I told the repair shop how they wanted the invoice written so he did. I resent the new invoice and the supervisor was happy. They said that it would take a few day for them to cancel the last check and rewrite a new one. And now I get a nasty email from a *** that the repair shop has no internet website. And they clam that contacted to the repair guy and he denied having any information regarding the document that was submitted. And now they want to cancel my protection plan and refund the money I paid for it. I called the repair shop and he never talk to anyone from SquareTrade. I don't know why they are making up this story about talking to him and sending nasty email to force me to cancel it.

We apologize for any difficulty you experienced with your claim. Squaretrade requires an invoice or documentation of non-repair from local repair claims. We need specific information to be listed on these receipts, so we can verify repairs and reimburse the correct amount. We understand you experienced difficulty with the receipt, as well as with the communication with some of our specialists. At this time, we moved forward with providing a satisfactory resolution.

bought a protection plan from *** through ***. was informed it would only be $49, made the purchase, when I registered the plan I suddenly see there is a $29 deductable on top of the $49 I already spent. No one mentioned this to me, it is not told to the *** associates to tell customers about. No where in the terms and conditions provided in the pamphlet sent by *** is a deductible mentioned. This is a hidden fee forced upon customers to squeeze more money out of them because a replacement cellular device still costs more than their fees.

We are sorry to hear the consumer is dissatisfied with our service. When providing warranties, SquareTrade's intentions are always to have consumers make educated purchases. To accomplish this, we do our best to offer coaching and training to the resellers of our protection plan. However, any misinformation or a lack of information provided by individuals not employed by SquareTrade is outside of our control. We also provide consumers with informative pamphlets, and we do send the consumer a copy of their warranty contract via email, which provides details on deductible costs. The consumer is also free to find this information on ***'s website or request a duplicate of their warranty contract. We never force or demand our consumers to move forward with any resolutions presented if the consumer does not find it beneficial. It is up to the consumer to agree with the solution given. The consumer has the opportunity to request a refund of the warranty contract before completing any claim. We have resent an email containing the consumer's warranty contract so they may get a full perspective of their protection coverage. We hope we have provided the consumer with clarity and insight into their warranty protections, and we thank the consumer for the opportunity to address their concerns.

I have contacted this company on numerous occasions about the warranty on my vacuum cleaner with little to no response back. They have not attempted to help me in any way and it is a complete shame for customers to have to go through this! I just want my vacuum cleaner and to never have to deal with this company again.

We apologize for any difficulty you experienced with your claim. Squaretrade requires a proof of purchase for almost all warranties we have on file, as we need to be sure our warranty coverage corresponds with your product. We require specific information to be listed on these receipts, such as your item description, price of the purchase, and the date of sale. In some cases, the invoice may be needed to locate the warranty in our system. We understand you experienced difficulty with the receipt for this product, as well as communication with some of our specialists. At this time, we require the Amazon invoice from the order details page showing the warranty and item price, date of purchase, and order number. Once provided, we will be able to proceed with processing a claim on the device.

If SquareTrade reimburses for the price paid for your device it will complete the plan. The limit we cover throughout your plan is the purchase price of your item. At this time we have reimbursed the consumer's item cost in full ending the warranty.

Complaint: ***

I am rejecting this response because: once again. I never got a chance to use the warranty.

Sincerely

I submitted a claim for a Night Owl DVR that was no longer recording on 2/29/20.
I was given the option to drive an hour 1 way to have it fixed or contact the manufacturer to see if they could fix it. After waiting nearly 3 hours on hold I was able to get a night owl rep and explain what happened. She had me try a few different things with the DVR with no luck. She then explained the Hard drive was no longer working and the DVR would need to be replaced. She sent me an email on 3/2/20 stating the DVR needed to be replaced. I forwarded that email to Square Trade. For the last 8 days they have been giving me the run around on why they have not made a decision yet. Each time I called it was the same thing, 1-2 business days and someone will contact you. I’m called again tonight and the rep said the same thing.
The DVR is nothing but a $200 paper weight. I was forced to purchase a new system that did include cameras. I don’t expect square trade to reimburse me for a new system, just the DVR, which again is $200 on night owls website .

Great to work with! Friendly, knowledgeable and very helpful. Made the process as simple and painless as possible!

Purchased a tablet from *** and then the extended warranty online for it....when it stopped working several months after contacted ***...told me to bring to store...went to 3 different locations wouldn't exchange...was tld to go through mfg...did so and was denied due to timing...made claim with extended warranty (square trade) instructed to send in denial from mfg to cover...did that...once received was told to contact for resolution with chat ID did so...after repeating same info...was told they'd send me label to return tablet and once received would issue check/gift card...chat was disconnected...when reattempting to chat was told needed to call in to resolve...called in and was told to troubleshoot... explained this was already way past that...was put on hold for reimbursement... disconnected again...called back...was told DNT need to send in would issue check/gift card for 34.99 less than half the price of tablet...after refusing was told to send in receipt for tablet and call back.did that...next rep told me I only paid 3 dollars I was not to expect a full refund of purchased price or warranty honored...asked for supervisor who then told me I purchased the wrong warranty which they sold me specifically for the tablet I bought...and was repeatedly told I only spent 3 dollars I would never get the full amount...I exhaustedlly informed the SUPERVISOR that no where was any dollar amount stated in policy nor anything stating I would receive anything less than the price of the tablet I purchased....I requested to talk to someone above since I've been told a different excuse from every representative at this so called customer service Ave
...never received...I attempted once more to reach out to this "cs" for assist with my claim (btw advertising no hassle claims on their site) this time I was told to "read my own pics I sent them for once" I told rep it statesno where that paying only 3 dollars constitutes less than purchased price coverage...nor does it state anything other than "tablets purchased price"....I asked this rep over 8-10 times to send me the information to show me different and was refused every time telling me to check myself....that was more than enough to ensure me this was incorrect and I was being scammed....I have never been treated with such arrogance and disregard to not only a customers concerns but flat out requests....I dont expect a resolution nor due I have the time or patience for this shotty, unacceptable, deceiving business or their legimate obligations....I will just have to take this as lesson learned and not only not purchase electronics from *** again, definitely not a warranty but let everyone know what a unprofessional, underhanded, and unimaginable disappoint this situation has been....beware

We apologize for any confusion and dissatisfaction the consumer has experienced during the claim.Whenever we present our resolutions to the consumer, it is with the limit of liability in mind. If the consumer refuses the decision, we may offer alternative solutions at our discretion. In this case, the consumer refused the resolution due to the amount presented. Our specialist attempted to assist by providing alternate options while remaining within the limit of liability. After reviewing the receipt the consumer submitted, we have determined that the consumer purchased a warranty that indicates coverage for GPS and radio electronics up to 39.99 while the item is a tablet. Under our terms and conditions, this would invalidate the warranty coverage, prompting a refund of the warranty purchasing price. However, as a courtesy, we have offered to cover up to the $39.99 limit of liability. The receipt indicates that the warranty was purchased separately from and after the item's purchase. Though we allow purchases of our protection plans for items bought within a set period, we always recommend the consumer purchase the device and warranty at the same time to avoid any issues such as this.We hope we have provided the consumer clarity and insight into this matter, and we appreciate the opportunity to address their concerns.

I have purchased Square Trade warranties for many years and I have had very good experiences with my warranty claims with them. I will continue to purchase their warranties and I hope they will continue to offer great service.

I purchased a iPhone XS from target and was given a phone insurance with Square trade my phone cracked and I seeked out repairs they’ve given me many reasons why they can’t replace my phone none of which are true. Even after talking with my *** carrier they’ve stated they can’t help me they haven’t given any true reasons. Everything they’ve stated hasn’t been true after talking with Apple and my phone carrier

We apologize for any inconvenience experienced during the claims process. When a claim is filed on a mobile phone, the IMEI number is collected and verified to assure we are processing a claim on the correct device. In some cases, the IMEI will show the carrier has blacklisted it. A carrier will blacklist and IMEI when a device was reported lost or stolen. SquareTrade is unable to process a claim on the device when the IMEI is reflecting as blacklisted. We have advised the consumer the carrier needs to be contacted to remove the IMEI from the blacklist. Once the IMEI is restored, we can process a claim on the device.

Allstate Protection Plans Response • Mar 11, 2020

SquareTrade always attempts to ensure we are assisting all our consumers. Our system still shows there is an IMEI issue with the device not allowing for a claim to be filed. Inputting the consumer's IMEI into the AT&T link provided below also indicates there is an issue. If the consumer can provide documentation from the carrier showing the device is no longer blacklisted, we can proceed with a claim.

Complaint: ***

I am rejecting this response because:that probe was already provided to you and you still rejected it when. You did a call with all three parties on the line. can you confirm the IMEI number you have on file as *** has already provided you with the information saying the phone was not blacklisted when you called and a SquareTrade respresentatice was on the line With an *** representative

my IMEI IS ***

I would appreciate if you were trying to help with a real resolution and not asking for the same information that has already been provided to you. If you will not help with a resolution I would like to stop paying monthly services for a service you are not willing to provide

Sincerely

Whenever I think of getting an extended warranty, my go to is square trade. They’re the best

Great experience with customer service . Reachable at any hour of the day of the week with a live person on the telephone. Outstanding results.

Great customer service!!!! Simon was amazing and resolved my issue in less than five minutes. Thanks

they are an awful insurance company when it comes to any equipment purchase. The level of stress they put me through to seems successfully file a claim for coverage I paid for was disgraceful. I also sent the product back which was received and even waited the 10 business days to get my check and nothing then I was told that is the check is void they will try to reach out to account and could not tell me if and when someone would get back to me. It's disgusting the things they put me through before they even decided to make me whole as the customer. Avoid this company like the plague even if they are the last resort. BEWARE

Square trade took care of replacing 40 inch tv after diagnosing it on phone.
Fast and easy replacement with no issues.
I will definitely buy the policy again

Great quick, easy service. I made a claim, and that same day they approved my refund and I got the refund within a few days. I can now order a new product. They give different options as well. Definitely recommend.

I purchased a wireless router with a square trade warranty. The router is malfunctioning but not full devoid of function. I filed a claim and did all steps they had asked of me. They came back with an auditor/investigator and badgered me to do the investigating for them. I explained my displeasure, did a short (I do mean short, that's all it took) google search to get the info they needed, but should have done themselves. They finally honored my claim with full reimbursement, but with a catch. They asked me to sign an affidavit stating the item was devoid of any function. I cannot sign that as it is not and never stated that it was, only that it was malfunctioning. They also asked to have the item returned to them, which is fine but I will not take on legal recourse for signing that is not functional. When I explained to them it was not non-functional and asked them to acknowledge that, they refuse to communicate with me. The vast majority of my correspondence with with them was via email and asked that it remain and the will not even acknowledge any emails from me at this point.
