Very fast response and claim was handled quickly and efficiently. Great company

SquareTrade is awesome! I've always received exceptional service every time I have had to contact them, for questions and/or to file a claim. The claim process is very straight forward. The best advice I can give anyone after you purchase the warranty is to 1) upload a copy of the receipt, 2) enter the serial number, 3) rename the warranty to whatever it covers. This will save you a lot of time later, should you need to file a claim.

I know that a lot of "experts" say that purchasing an extended warranty is essentially wasting money, which is true if whatever you buy never has an issue. Nowadays, I don't think things are made to last. (And maybe I'm a little accident-prone too.) I always get a SquareTrade warranty on my Kindles, small kitchen appliances, laptops, tablets, and our cell phones. We also got one for our LCD wide screen TV and our dehumidifier.

I've had to place claims on two Kindles, an air fryer, a netbook, and an iPad Pro. Most of the items were non-repairable and I received my purchase price back within a few days. With my iPad Pro, they sent me a shipping label and I was able to send it in to be repaired as it was just the charge port that needed to be replaced. My air fryer recently died out-of-the-blue. I'd had it awhile and the thought came to me to check to see if I'd bought a SquareTrade warranty for it. I DID! The warranty was due to expire 12 days from the date the air fryer died! Once I received my claim check, I was able to buy a new air fryer.

To me, it seems that any bad reviews are by people who 1) aren't following the instructions provided to them from SquareTrade, 2) don't realize what type of warranty they purchased, or 3) assume the warranty covers lost or stolen items.

Awesome to have several options. I opted for the e cash refund and turned around and purchased the same item the same day! Quick easy and avoid the long lines!

Square Trade provided excellent Support in terms of communication, follow-through, and reimbursement to Warranty a product that failed under the terms of contract period.

After finally speaking with a supervisor I was assisted quickly and with no issues

I had to file a claim for a phone that had liquid damage. Options should be either repair, reimburse or replace as stated per contract at time of warranty purchase. Nope, you can either get it locally repaired or get a replacement device. If you choose the latter, you get the joy of having a $750 temporary hold on your debit or credit card when you choose this option. If you don't ship out the damaged phone, the temporary hold is put on a permanent charge at the end of 7 days. Deceptive company. Sure, they'll allow you to repair your phone at a local repair shop but you have to pay for all of it first and then seek reimbursement after. If repairs are an option, why not do it at their service center? Why provide an option that has me shelling out more money first? As to the 2nd option, I was told they are enforcing the policy due to mishaps with damaged items not getting sent back. Stupid policy because it punishes the whole customer base instead of going after the culprits that did it. The number of cases of such a thing happening are not even 1% of the customers because most comply with the process. But oh no, they chose to enforce a policy that is highly inconvenient and not even fair. Did I mention that it is not part of the contract either? Their contract also states that any revisions, provisions, promises or conditions not stated in their contract are not enforceable unless customers are informed of the change within 30 days prior to it taking being enforced. Their supervisors also alluded to the contract when I questioned the legality of the temporary hold, then ultimately, agreed that yes, it is not there and most likely not legally binding. But hey they are just the lowly supervisors and will still have to enforce said policy. Used to love the company. Always got warranties with all items and got them from Squaretrade exclusively. But I think they are chasing the buck too much and the customer experience has gotten worse through the years. Mind you, each claim has a deductible of $99 and chances are, every repair does not require that much expense because you get phone parts in bulk and for cheaper prices anyway. Customer service is horrible; it takes forever to get a person, and it takes forever to get issues resolved.

I purchased a vacuum that died after one year. I purchased a 3 year Square trade, so they had me send it in and they fixed it. It died again after 7 months. When I contacted Square trade again, they informed me that the warranty only covers up to the price of the item. They said they spent more than the original cost the first time they repaired it, so the warranty is finished and they won't fix it again. When I told them I have more than a year left on the warranty and their so called 'fix' lasted only 7 months, they basically told me too bad. They had the nerve to tell me this is how warranties work. This is from a Square trade 'customer experience' manager. So basically a 3 year warranty from Square trade is not a 3 year warranty. Square trades incompetence is unbelievable.

We have had a generally poor experience working with Squaretrade to reimburse us on a hot-tub fix (we purchased a warranty at our local Sam's Club). Though the experience has been trying, we have been able to resolve most issues with several phone calls and follow up on our part. We are currently waiting to be reimbursed for a part that cost $349.95. We have already been reimbursed for the labor, $170. This check was processed and mailed out within 24-48 hours of submission of the receipt.

Our claim number is ***. On February 13th, a Squaretrade rep called us to let us know we would be receiving confirmation of this processed payment via email in 24 to 48 business hours. I called Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday and was finally told we would receive confirmation by Thursday.

We still have not received any confirmation of this payment. I am hoping by filing this complaint, Squaretrade will rectify this faster. We have been repeatedly told incorrect information and Squaretrade never gives us consistent information or any real updates.

We apologize for the consumer's issues experienced with their reimbursement. SquareTrade attempts to provide a smooth and hassle-free claims experience. With the local repair invoice, the customer can get their item fixed and give a repair invoice for reimbursement. Once the invoice is received, the refund is processed and mailed within 1-2 business days. At that time, an email is sent to the customer advising their reimbursement is being processed. The consumer should have received a follow-up email confirming the compensation, and that was not the case. We were able to reach out to the consumer and confirm the reimbursement is currently being processed and mailed.

Revdex.com:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

Sincerely

Second time working with square trade and both times have been very professional and prompt. Will definitely use them again with future electronic purchases.

First time purchasing insurance for anything. Apple Watch accident and mailed back to Square Trade/ replaced refunded within two weeks. Would purchase for any electronics in the future.

Sometimes I frankly wonder why I keep buying the SQUARE TRADE protection policy. This week again proved why it is, indeed, a good investment to protect the monies that you have paid out for an item. I phoned over a malfunctioning microwave and received immediate gift card for the amount paid. I am grateful for the professional manner in the way it was handled by a various courteous young man.
Sincere thanks to the entire staff.

The warranty process was smooth and painless. I would use this service again.

Couldn't have asked for better results. Superb service and professional customer service. Our TV had a power problem and within a day it was taken care of and right before the NASCAR Daytona big race! Very satisfied! Will continue to purchase Square Trade Protection plan on future purchases.

I had no issues getting my warranty taken care of.

SQUARE TRADE RESOLVE MY CLAIM QUICK AND PROFESSION, THANK YOU SQUARE TRADE.

Absolutely brilliant swift resolution with excellent customer service! The online process was easy and a call I made for clarification on my claim was very good. Having had similar experiences with this company in the past, I highly recommend Square Trade!

Everyone I spoke to were very understanding and very helpful

I have multiple warranty plans with Square Trade for about five years. I filed six claims for different computers, and I've had a great experience in using Square Trade. Recently, they sent me a check when the computer was not worth fixing.

This company has always been outstanding and professional with every claim. They stand by their warranties and use them often for peace of mind.

Literally got five different answers on my insurance claim before they ultimately denied it. I was told twice that it was approved, and three times that it was denied, for a different reason every time. The process took months, and of course ultimately I was denied coverage. The entire operation felt very much like a scam.
