This was the worst experience that I have ever had with an insurance company. It has been a month and it is still not resolved. I knew that the phone was unfixable and yet I was made to take it to a repair shop. They charged me $152. The phone still did not work. Squaretrade then charged me $149 to open a new claim for the phone since it was unfixable. They then sent me a phone that was not compatable with my phone company. They would not send me another phone until they received this phone back. I mailed it the same day. When we finally received the the proper phone, almost a month after filing the claim, I called the the company to get our refund for the $152 and I spoke with someone who said that I would receive a response within 48 hours. 5 days later there is still no response. Whenever I call in to talk to a manager they say that they will call me back within 24 hours and they NEVER do. I have spent about 12 hours on the phone, sent or received 23 emails and waited a month to replace a simple phone and have still not received my refund. I cannot believe that *** would put their name on this company.
If I could do 0 stars I would but would not let me so here it is I'll try to save everyone the mess up inconsiderate people who works here I bought my phone brand new and got the insurance plan on a later date the said I was not able to do anything for a new phone while I slipped on ice and cracked my screen they are saying I my device had a problem with my phone before I made the claim. So they are not covering the damage. I will never go through this company again.
My item was a *** I got the claim set up on line. It was pretty easy to do. I thought it took a long time to get to me. With paying for the warranty and paying a deductible, I feel like a new watch would be appropriate. Even if you have to send the broken one back. Getting a refurbished item that has the physical contact like this does, is kind of gross...
We bought an Nintendo switch and it was defective. We contacted Square Trade and they said we would have to go through Target where we purchased it or Nintendo to resolve the issue since it was within a year and then the policy we bought on it through SquareTrade would transfer. Well two years later I find out that the policy did NOT transfer and the Nintendo which is now not working is not covered! They are the ones who told me it would!!!! They would not file a claim, they said since Target had us purchase a new system we needed to purchase a new policy which is THE EXACT OPPOSITE of what they told us when we were going through the original defective Switch and they said no worries our new one would transfer to the policy. They are not upholding what they originally said! I asked why I would have kept a policy that was apparently not covering anything? Of course I would have bought a new policy and canceled the one on the old switch if that is what they told me to do, but they said no don't do that it will transfer. So now I am out of a Nintendo Switch because due to their mistake it is not covered. I will NEVER buy another SquareTrade policy again! This is the second time I've had an issue with them, the first was a horrible situation with a phone that they finally remedied so I thought I would use them again. We since have bought SEVERAL policies with them but will never buy another again! Very disappointing!!!!! This should have been a simple transfer like they told me it would be from the beginning!!!
I had a simple repair on a large printer, HP Pagewide pro 477. The company stated they could not repair on site so I had to ship the printer back to service department. Which means I had to replace the printer to continue to run my small business. The part was replaced and the printer shipped back. The ink cartridges were loose. There was a screw driver left in the back panel, and the back panel was not put back on properly. I called to report damage. The company requested to ship the large printer back to them for repair of the damage. I questioned this due to the large printer and shipping. The printer was shipped as requested. The printer came back, ink still in the cracks and smeared over various parts, the top paper feeder was damaged and misaligned, and all the Styrofoam is broken. This is getting ridiculous. So, I reported the damage and I was asked again to send the printer back for repairs. The printer has come back for a fourth time, ink still all over inside and out. Various parts cracked and misaligned. Most of this damage was likely caused from the shipping which Square trade requested. Now my warranty has expired and they want to offer me 134.00 for replacement of a 500.00 printer that I bought a warranty for! This started in July, I have followed up and questioned all along. The service department damaged my printer and will not reimburse me or even replace it. So, I bought a warranty for no reason. This is unacceptable and poor customer service.
We apologize for the consumer claim experience. We aim to make the claim process hassle-free and always want to provide immediate service to our consumers.Upon review of the account history, we were able to determine that the best resolution will be to provide the consumer with a reimbursement of the printer via check. We once again apologize for the experience and hope that we were able to turn it around. Thanks
I purchased extended warranty on a pair of Bose wireless headphones at the time of purchase from the Bose retailer. After about 18 months of use, my headphones started having issues. I filed a claim with SquareTrade (a very difficult process). At first, they had my device associated with another person I've never heard of. It took weeks to resolve this (luckily I keep copies of my receipts and was able to prove that the warranty belonged to my device because I had the serial number). After I shipped them the headphones to be repaired, they sent me an email saying that the warranty did not cover the problem. They claim the headphones had water damage. The only "water" would have been from sweat (I use the headphones for working out) and so this conclusion is false. Furthermore, the headphones are supposed to be water resistant. I contacted Bose and they are handling a replacement. However, I want to file a formal complaint against SquareTrade. They are clearly not upholding the terms of their warranty, and besides, they wasted hours of my time with their lackadaisical form of accounting. This company is problematic and unethical and needs to be investigated. I requested a refund of my warranty and they are processing. However, if Bose wasn't such a great company and didn't step in to rectify this problem, then I would be out $160.
We apologize for any difficulty experienced with this claim.Square Trade offers two types of protection plans, Standard and Accidental each of which offer varying degrees of coverage. The policy covering this product was a Standard plan, which protects against hardware and electrical failures due to normal usage. Unfortunately, this plan does not cover liquid damage, this is why we were unable to approve your claim. We provide customers access to their warranties any time via our website or mobile app. Which provides more details regarding their coverage. Since we were unable to service this product we have processed a full refund of your warranty purchasing price. We understand that the consumer felt that since the item was water-resistant that the item should not have liquid damage however, Water-resistant items are made to resist the penetration of water to some degree but not entirely. We again apologize for any inconvenience.Thank you
They sent me a phone and I returned it and then they shipped me a check for 999.99 after I deposited the check they took 750.00 out my account twice saying I didn't return the phone.
We apologize for the consumer's experience. The consumers' claim has been reviewed and we were able to see that on the 19th of December we processed a reimbursement for the amount of $750.00 to the consumers' credit card. On our review of the account, we only see that only one charge for that amount was made. Square Trade has made attempts to reach out to the consumer and hasn't yet to make contact. Thank you, JR
I purchased a TV at Costco and purchase a protection plan.
TV stop working. Complain was filed on 11/25/19 refound was granted and promised it will take about 10 day it's 12/19/19 and no check is been received.
We apologize for the consumer's experience. The consumer account was reviewed, a reimbursement was processed on the 20th of December via check and mailed USPS. Thank you
On 11/30/2017 I purchased a two-year protection plan for a new iPhone. I submitted the necessary documents (pictures and receipt) and received confirmation that my documents were received. On 11/18/19 I submitted a claim for the iPhone. I received a response from SquareTrade saying that they could not read my original receipt and I would have to send another copy of my receipt. I tried to get a copy of the original receipt from T-Mobile, but I was never able to get a copy of the original receipt. I told SquareTrade and they told me I would just have to submit a copy of one of my bills from T-Mobile. I did that along with an email I received from T-Mobile when I purchased the phone, but then I was told by SquareTrade that those documents weren't sufficient. After some more back and forth correspondence I gave up. So, here is my real complaint/question: Since SquareTrade didn't let me file a complaint, did I really have a protection plan in the first place when I submitted my documents initially and paid for the plan? Evidently not, because they wouldn't let me file a claim! Therefore, I think I am legally entitled to a full refund because I paid for something that I never received.
We apologize for the experience.Square Trade request proof of purchase for all items that we cover. upon review of the warranty, we were able to see that thee consumer did provide a receipt however the information on the receipt was illegible. As a courtesy, we have refunded the consumer the full warranty via check though this is an exception to the standard process.
Thanks

I purchased coverage for office equipment from this company. I have an office chair that no longer works. I have reported this issue to the company. I have called 8 times and chatted online 4 times and continue to hear nothing back. I work from home and now I'm forced to buy myself new equipment when it should have been replaced by the coverage contract. I have sent them two sets of pictures of the problem.
We apologize for any difficulty experienced with this claim.Upon review of the consumer account, we were able to see that the claim was approved for reimbursement on the 19th of December. A check will be processed and mailed via USPS. Thanks
I purchased a Tv from *** with the extended warranty that is through square trade I have been having isssues with the TV almost since the day I bought it Im having issues with the colors of the tv it’s very faded and the tv shuts off by itself randomly when I called square trade to have a technician sent out they said they couldn’t do it because I don’t have the original remote I was using a universal remote I feel like it’s a scam now I’m stuck with a defective tv he said he could not send someone out and I can not exchange it so I’m supposed to be stuck with a defective product even though it’s defective and I purchased the warranty! I believe they talk you into buying the warranty the find any way around actually repairing the TV I’m going to let everyone know the experience I had it’s a waste of money buying the extended warranty because when it comes down to it they don’t even let you use it so my daughter is out of a tv and I wanted my money on the tv and the warranty
We apologize for any difficulty experienced with the claim.Squaretrade has compiled years of experience to make the claims process as efficient and hassle-free as possible. Some of the ways we've improved this process include some preliminary troubleshooting, as we've found this to be successful with fixing a wide variety of issues. If the troubleshooting fails to fix the consumer product this is a confirmation of the problem being rooted in hardware, which also helps our technicians determine the best way to proceed. To do this, we will need the original remote. Upon review of the account, we were expecting a call back from the consumer once she gets ahold of the remote. Thanks
I purchased a protection plan at wall mart for my TV threw Square trade who make it sound like they cover any damage when you purchase it but rather you contact the manufacture. the tv is still under manufacture warranty but was broken during a move and dont cover that kind of damage samsung denied me which is why I purchased a plan threw square trade just in case who keeps sending me back to Samsung Again they make it sound like they will cover your ANY damage but dont actually do anything but take your money.
We're sorry we were unable to approve the recent claim. The policy covering the consumer product is a Standard plan, which protects against hardware and electrical failures due to normal usage. This coverage typically mirrors that of the manufacturer. Unfortunately, this plan does not cover physical damage, this is why we were unable to approve your claim.Square Trade works to ensure our plans are advertised properly and we also provide customers access to their warranties at any time via our website or mobile app. If desired we can also provide a copy of the warranty contract via email or hard copy upon request which provides more details regarding your policy coverage.Since we were unable to service this product we have processed a full refund of your warranty purchasing price. We again apologize for any inconvenience.Thank you
I purchased a TV from Sam's Club and also and extended warranty from square trade. so when I attempt to register the TV square trade keeps tell me that the warranty has been cancelled. I have sent copies of the receipt and they still insist that the warranty has been cancelled. I've even had the manager from Sam's Club call them on12/14/ 2019 they claim they were going to take care of it but they never did. I did return a TV but it was *** inch TV the TV in question is a 58 inch TV I've sent square trade copies of both receipts but they refuse acknowledge it
We apologize for any difficulty experienced with the warranty. The account was reviewed and a recent warranty for tv was found that was purchased in sams. We have sent the consumer a copy of the warranty contract and steps to upload the receipt. We once again apologize for the experience. Thanks

I am rejecting this response because the information submitted was totally reversed square trade turned the warranty totally around they gave me the warranty on the TV that I had returned so the TV that I've purchased is not under warranty. I tried to call them to explain it to them but they keep insisting Sam's Club cancelled the warranty. the TV I've purchased is a 58 inch TV purchased on Nov.16 2019 not Nov.11 2019. look I just want the right warranty that I purchased.
Sincerely
We apologize for this experience.
We were able to locate the warranty that was purchased for the TV on the 16th of November.
Our team has escalated this and the warranty will be reactivated by the end of day today.
We ask the consumer to please allow 24 hours for the reactivation to be viewed on their end.
Thank you
my customer service person was more than helpful. He stayed online with me while speaking with *** and this assisted me in answering questions that I was not sure about. He gets an A+ and thus the 5 stars.
This is not a complaint about this whole thing, just an opinion. Because I have the protection for my computer, I believe I should have received a new one and not a refurbished one. My reasoning for this is that the ***s have the problem I experienced and refurbished or not, the problem cannot be fixed so eventually (this is what it says on *** website) it can happen again with this model. So it may just be a matter of time and then the warranty will no longer be effective and I will need to purchase a new computer. Just saying that this is not right with either *** or Square Trade since I paid for coverage. I would give Square Trade only 1 or 2 stars because of this.
Issue was resolved in a timely manner and the Square Trade staff made sure that all questions I had were address. Great service!
Did a great job. Fast service and no issues at all. Even sent it back quicly.
Everyone was great but the television was to be replaced. They sent us a check for the amount of the television.
I got the TV on a black Friday sale. It cost me 150.00 extra to replace. I also lost the extended warranty. But again it was easy and fast . Everyone was professional and pleasant to deal with.
My experience was great. Contacted them about my sons second broken phone and for the second time this year they replaced the phone with no questions asked, very quickly.
Excellent experience from start to finish. Customer service (live person) handled my claim, processing claim was very simple, and I received a check in about a week.
I was very pleased. The review time and contact time was reasonable.
