Rip off , choose to refund the price of my warranty $16 , after I had it fit a year . Refuse yo repair my *** , saying it had signs of dropping damages , when it had never been drop . This is the second time the whole facing came loose from the watch . So in really the first time the manufacture fix it with in six months , it happen again . Buying the warranty was just useless . Never will I buy another *** or extend warranty. Their solution was to give me a 30% coupon . , really they must be crazy , $200 just gone to waster . Very displeased.

Did a protection plan claim and the process was very smooth and the customer service reps were very attentive and helpful.

After half a dozen calls to *** customer service and numerous emails promising delivery within 1 to 2 business days I still have not received my refund. The customer service reps become rude and refuse to help you. They have stated that they sent my gift card email twice now but they have not and refuse to assist me further than sending other emails promising the refund in 1-2 business days. This has happened 6 times now! This company is a scam!

We do apologize for the experience. Square Trade aims to make our claims process as painless as possible, but it sounds like this isn't the case. we have verified the consumers account and as of the 6th of November we have resent the Gift card to the consumer.These payments are made using a third party therefore we ask the consumer to verify there junk mail and any mail that contain the word gift card. As the email will not be labeled as SquareTrade. Once again we apologize for the experience. Thank you, JR

Although it took entirely too long they have resolve the claim. I shall never buy another Square trade warranty it’s not worth the time, frustration and effort to file the claim. The customer service representatives (managers) did their job but were extremely rude and should be fired. It seems that square trade even backed me up on this!

this is the number of the original complaint that I filed. I'm filling again because even after providing SquareTrade with another address I have yet to recieve the check. After it was returned to them they voided the check and are trying again at my current address. This will be their 3rd attempt! I also got a verbal commitment from one of their representatives to even refund my original warranty fee as well. This is ridiculous that everyone is telling be there's no way to get the refund that is actually owed to me.

We apologize that the consumer hasn't received their reimbursement. SquareTrade has made various attempts to get the payment to the consumer. The consumer did get in contact with us and updated the address on file. In which on the 30th of October, a new check was mailed to the address on file. The payment was sent via ***. We ask to please allow the allotted time for it to deliver. We have emailed the consumer and assigned a specialist to personality to assist the consumer regarding this situation in case the check is not received. Once again, we apologize for the inconvenience. Thank you

In December of 2017 I paid for a 2 year warranty on my iPhone X from *** Just last month (October of 2019) the charging port stopped working. I was advised to take my phone into the Apple store and obtain a receipt that it was either repaired or could not be repaired. Per their instructions I received a repair receipt from Apple that it could not be fixed. I was then told to go back to the Apple store and purchase a replacement phone for $549 and that I would be reimburse minus my deductible within 5 business days. I then was told to upload the receipt that stated it could not be repaired and the receipt for $549 for the replacement phone. I then started receiving emails that the first image of the repair receipt was too blurry. I sent the receipt in another 9 times before they finally said they could read it. They then asked again for the $549 receipt for the replacement phone which I sent in another 8 times. After 14 phone calls they still were asking for a repair receipt. I explained there was no repair receipt since it was irreparable. They sent me in circles reading from a script with the same thing "let me find another resolution". Then I was told to send in my broken phone after I had already purchased the replacement phone as instructed. This company is a complete scam. Allstate (who now owns this business) should be embarrassed they are doing business in such a non-professional and shady manner.

I would not recommend Square Trade. When you make a claim there's a list of steps you have to take in order to file your claim via the website. At the end, it asks you to either mail the phone or take it to either *** or ***. I picked *** since it was closer. Their site simply says to pay for service, then submit the receipt to Square Trade for reimbursement. At no point did the girl at *** say that what she was doing to the phone would not be covered in full. The phone had some water damage so she said she would replace the part. However, what she submitted on the receipt, according to Square Trade was that it was a replacement phone - it was not. I have the same phone. I saw her open a small box with the part and replace it. This has to be fraudulent on one side or the other, and I will continue to look into this further.

I purchased a "SquareTrade 4-Year PC Peripherals Protection Plan ($75-$100)" for my *** keyboard with Square Trade on March 3rd of 2018. Several keys recently stopped working due to use over time, so I contacted them about a repair or replacement for the item. We went through all the details to confirm my claim fit the plan criteria I purchased and it did. However, when I mailed them my keyboard to be repaired, they did not fix any of the malfunctioning keys and the receipt only says that the keyboard was "cleaned" and had "firmware updated". I called back today to complain about this issue and they explained to me that I must simply send the keyboard back again to get the keys fixed. I have given them no new information since the first time I spoke with them. I have not had a working keyboard in over 3 weeks now and would simply like some form of reimbursement to purchase a new keyboard or a replacement keyboard. Anything other than another "repair" which will likely not fix the issue they promised and prolong my time without a functioning keyboard. I have purchased many plans from Squaretrade in the past and am very dissatisfied with my first attempt at actually using one of the plans I purchased. Thank you for your time.

These resolutions are determined per our discretion and which are available typically depend on the item category and the issue it is experiencing. It was determined that a repair to service the product was the best route. We updated the firmware and cleaned the unit and tested, all functions and passed. We have policies in place to address concerns if the repair is not successful such as offering a rework on the item or different resolution. We have reviewed this case and determine since the keyboard is not functioning, and the consumer is still having issues, we will process a reimbursement. In January 2018, I purchased a baby gate from Babies R Us. With the purchase, I purchased a Square Trade warranty on the product as Babies R Us informed me that it would cover any and all issues with the product. Recently, a piece of the baby gate broke off (just by closing the gate), resulting in the baby gate no longer being able to be used due to safety concerns.

I contacted Square Trade to file a claim and had my claim denied as the warranty didn't cover wear and tear.

Perplexed how a company can claim the warranty doesn't cover wear and tear when the warranty was sold to cover any and all issues.

The policy covering the consumers' product was a Standard plan, which protects against hardware and electrical failures due to normal usage. Unfortunately, this plan does not cover physical damage; this is why we were unable to approve your claim.SquareTrade works to ensure our plans are correctly advertised. We also provide customers access to their warranties at any time via our website or mobile app. We understand that the issue that the consumer is having could be related to normal wear and tear, therefore, we will provide the consumer with a reimbursement of the purchase price of the baby gate, via check though this is an exception to the standard process. They were very helpful in getting my product fixed on time.

Great Service, Square Trade was in contact with me right away with a Reference number and I was told to take my Product to a repair shop, in which they are sending me a check for the full amount of the repairs. I will definitely purchase their extended Warranty again.

I purchased an 8" Kindle fire tablet on 3 /19/19 including an extended warranty with ***. I was initially told that I needed to work with manufacturer, ***, and when they could not resolve a question of mechanical problem; I was referred back to square trade. Upon speaking with square trade for quite awhile, I was told that they would be happy to.refund my $ for purchased price. I declined because I purchased the Kindle for a lesser price after much research & found a bargain on *** & the $ square trade wanted to send would not enable me enough $ to purchase a comparable tablet. The representative, Alex, said ok & that I would receive an 8" Kindle in 5 business days. Approximately two or three hours later, I checked my email and I had received an email from Square Trade stating that my claim had been processed & that they would be sending me a check. This was not what we agreed on.
I would appreciate your help it it is within your expertise to do so.

They were able to help get what I needed to get done easily step by step

Great services and timely refund. I was able to get my claim refund in no time.

Never had any problems with Square trade. Always prompt in any issues I may have with any of items I have insurance on.

Excellent Staff and Problem Solving went quickly, answers were acceptable and satisified.

I bought a cellphone on ***, and thought adding additional warranty was a good idea. At the checkout page there was only one plan offered, SquareTrade's protection plan. It promised to provide 'Coverage for product breakdowns and malfunctions' and '100% Parts and labor, no deductibles'. There was no extended warranty offered, but I wouldn't even needed it.
A little after a year after buying the phone I wanted to replace the SD card in the phone to a bigger one, and the particular model has the SIM and the SD card in the same tray. I took the pin that was provided with the phone, pushed it in the hole where it belongs, and the SIM tray came out in pieces. According to SquareTrade, this is not covered by the warranty, because it's Accidental Damage, while I firmly believe removing a SIM tray with the designated tool is normal operations.
I asked for a callback from their agents, that never happened, then spent long minutes on hold, then explaining to an agent and a supervisor what my problem was, they both rejected the claim.
Then leaving a feedback on their *** page and getting to another someone looking into the claim they still thought that this is not a mechanical failure, but accidental damage. The phone was never dropped, spilled upon, etc. They did offer a refund for the policy, which won't replace my phone or give me back the time I wasted on talking to them.
My personal opinion is that they were not courteous, they weren't understanding the problem or they simply hit a quota and were told not to honor any claims in the month anymore, or this is simply the way SquareTrade finances themselves - borrowing money disguised as warranties, and offering a refund when a claim is made and they don't want to honor. Their disclosure, even on the 'Learn More' page is not detailed enough, or at least we have very different understanding of what a mechanical failure is.

The person I spoke with was very helpful. She gave me what my options were and let me decide. Very easy to work with. I will use their services in the future if I buy a small a similar product.
