It was easy process and without any problems.Buying extra warranty is worth
On June 6, 2019, I purchases and *** chromebook from ***. It was advertised as 'brand new'. I also purchased a square trade warranty the same date. When I got it, it had a very dim light when turned on - and that was it. I thought it might be my error, as I am not good at technology, so I had a couple other people look at it, but no one could make it work, so I contacted square trade. They said that it was still under warranty from the manufacturer so I should try them. I contacted *** and they said it was an 'openbox/demo' and the warranty began is 2017 and had run out in early 2019 and they would not help. Next I contacted the *** seller. He said my 30 day return policy expired and he could not help, even though he sold me something advertised as 'brand new' when it clearly was not, as *** had paperwork inside the box that showed it was made in 2017. All 3 companies have refused to help, but Square Trade is responsible for honoring the warranty. I have called them and emailed them repeatedly, and been asked the same questions over and over.I have uploaded the receipt to them more than once. It is like they are trying to trick me into giving a wrong answer. I had my son call last week as I was fed up, and he told them it never worked and they said - oh, dead on arrival, we don't cover that. Case closed. I would not call it dead on arrival as there was a dim light like is was turning on, but the bottom line is that is what a Square trade warranty is for - resolve my issue with my product. As of now, I spent $379.99 on an *** and $37.99 on a Square trade warranty and I am out all that money plus the time spent on trying to relove it. I am hoping fervently that your office can help me with this issue.
We apologize for any dissatisfaction with our claims process.SquareTrade provides repair, replacement, and reimbursement as our resolutions to address consumer claims. Which are available depends on the item and issue. As an overview, when an item is purchased and shows signs that it is not working correctly or not working, the first step will be to contact the seller. If the seller denies an exchange or a refund, then the manufacturer will step in. Once the manufacturer's warranty ends, the square trade warranty will step in to continue service. SquareTrade warranty does not cover items that are defective from the start, as this is considered Dead on arrival. In this instance, upon review of this case to the full capacity, we understand that the customer felt that no one wanted to assist. We want to change the experience around, and as a one-time exception, SquareTrade will reimburse the consumer for the purchase price of the laptop via check though this is an exception to the standard process.Thank you
Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

Terrible experience.
Made a claim on October 7th for my television. Took almost 2 weeks to get a tech for repair. TV couldn't be repaired & was offered a new TV.
It's now been another 2 weeks waiting for new TV to be delivered - no tracking information sent.
Supposedly, as soon as I ordered the replacement TV through their website it "went out of stock".
I was not made aware, I would have just asked for a check if I knew it would take this long.
A month waiting for a new TV is unacceptable.
I was 100% satisfied with every aspect of my experience with Square Trade.
Professional treatment, answered all questions and resolved the issue with my cellphone. Thanks
SquareTrade is must-have protection for electronic equipment, especially for laptop computers and televisions. Televisions, in particular, are inexpensively made and, unfortunately, some brands have a relatively high failure rate. SquareTrade has repaired or replaced several devices over the years we’ve had their coverage. Most recently, we had a small television completely fail, and, instead of attempting to repair it (because of the fairly low purchase price), they simply refunded the original purchase price. They mailed a check which we received in within just a few days. SquareTrade is a very reputable company that takes care of its customers!
Our laptop stopped working so we contacted SquareTrade. We had a resolution within thirty minutes of contact. The process was very uncomplicated.
Easy, fast and efficient! Very satisfied with the entire process! Highly recommend using this service!!
Service was fast. The customer service was great. I will buy this again when I get a new phone. Thank you
purchased a square trade policy at Costco (there is no date on the policy only that it was for a cell phone) and called square trade to verify which device this was for. they told me that they could not find the policy. I am not filing a claim for damage, I only want to file my protection plan with the right device. I feel that because they asked for a receipt for the device purchased (in this case I have no idea which device and this was the reason for my contact with square trade) that they are trying to discourage me from using the coverage. for all I know this policy could be expired from a purchase of over 2 years ago. I am suspicious of them for trying to ask me to look for an old receipt and my Costco member ID when the policy document says "this letter has all of the information you will need in case you need to file a claim." Now they say that they do not have a record of this policy and need more information. I feel that if they can not find the policy, then they should pay me the $119.99 that I paid them. Their policy does not have a date when it was purchased.
Depending on the re-seller, the warranty typically uploads into our system within 3 business days. However, for some re-sellers, we do request the consumer to keep the proof of purchase or register the plan online.
When warranties are purchased from Costco, they provide a plan number for their records. Once the consumer registers their warranty they are provided their warranty information, this includes their SquareTrade plan number.
Squaretrade has a process in place in case we are unable to locate the warranty. This consists of the consumer providing us with there membership number, date of purchase, name on the membership, and contact information. Once we have this information we will reach out to Costco to locate the plan information and proceed with the claim. We reach out to Costco directly to expedite the process for the consumer. Our resolutions team has reached out to the consumer to assist with locating their warranty. We hope this will turn the consumer's experience around.
Thanks

I am rejecting this response because: Square Trade is less than transparent. The insurance policy that I received clearly states that it would be the only document that I would need if I ever filed a claim. When I contacted them, they said they also needed my Costco ID which I gave them. Then they asked for the date of purchase, the sales receipt and the voucher number on the sales receipt, none of which I have. The policy they gave me when I purchased does not have a date on it either. Square trade still can not find my policy in their system. I am not filing a claim, I only wish to know which device that this policy belongs to. If square trade can not tell me which device the policy belongs to, I would like a reimbursement of the $119.99 That I paid. The policy they gave me is very vague and with out enough info for me or square trade to use. Please find the policy attached.
Sincerely,
Kevin
We apologize for any inconvenience. The consumer warranty has been reviewed with the email address that was used on the Revdex.com complaint, and we were able to locate a total of four phone plans. Unfortunately, all four phone warranties have expired. We have reached out to Costco and have requested proof of purchase of the account that is still valid with us. We have sent the consumer a link to create a password to access their SquareTrade account, and they will be able to see the warranties and the contracts for each of the valid warranty. We hope that we were able to resolve the concern that the consumer has regarding their warranty. Once again, we apologize for the inconvenience. Thanks JR
I would make it zero if that was available. DO NOT BUY THE WARRANTY!! I bought a policy from Sam's on the new TV I purchased. I lost the sound on it and called Square Trade to file a claim. After many phone calls and emails I have given up. I ended up in tears and just telling them I give!! The whole focus is to make the process as difficult as possible to avoid paying any claims. With each step of the process there was another hoop I had to jump through. It got to the point that I felt like the TV technician instead of the customer. Buyer beware.
using web site to file claim was nt the best of experiences, phone customer service was great. I was notified as to the progress of my claim by email, sadly they couldn't repair the item, The good news was I got a refund for the cost of the unfixible item.
They took care of my printer problem without any hassle or extended requirements. I couldn’t be happier.
I had purchased a very nice office high back desk chair. When I reported the problem, I received excellent service - all the way from prompt and attentive responses to fully honoring the warranty provisions. I would recommend Square Trade to anyone!
I was very pleased with the response & how quick my claim was handled. I will get this added insurance whenever I need it in the future.
Fantastic experience! To have some technical support for my refurbished *** I purchased from *** this summer. I contacted the number in my policy and couldn’t have been treated any better. The service was just wonderful and they got me up and running without having to go to a service provider offsite. However they were perfectly Ready to overnight my laptop for service and repair had it been necessary. Truly a good value for the money!
SquareTrade, which is an *** company, is really screwing us around. We purchased their extended warranty on our Samsung washer and dryer several years ago. Well, of course the washer broke down, and of course they are trying to claim we are no longer covered as of a week ago. The thing is, their own website clearly states the coverage begins AFTER the manufacturers warranty. So, seeing as we purchased the washer/dryer 5 years ago, they should still be covered under this warranty, even if manufacturers is only 1 year. They won’t even let us talk to a supervisor when we call.
We apologize for any miscommunication on our website.Squaretrade is an extended warranty company, our standard plans mirror the manufacturer's warranty to provide coverage for mechanical and electrical issues. Our plan also runs as the back-up to the manufacturer, which allows the consumer to be double covered for the first year. After researching the account it appears we have provided the customer with a resolution. After speaking with a specialist the consumer understands how the coverage works for future purchases. Thanks
I did y need it for my phone, but I knew we’d need it for my girlfriends phone, and thank god we got it. Sure enough, prob only about a year and a half later and her phone was a mess. Soo much so that they had to replace it. Was well worth the money for the warranty. Saved us money in a long run.
I had originally tried to cancel my phone insurance plan online, but the company kept on asking for the exact date the plan was purchased, because it was over two years ago I could not remember nor did I still have my receipt. I call their customer service line 10/25/19 @ 11:00 am and spoke to a woman named Jazz who told me she could not do anything and to contact *** (the merchant that sold me the plan). I called *** and they said that it would have been virtually impossible for them to retrieve a receipt. I called *** customer service line and spoke to another customer service agent who told me that he would send me an email and to post a photo of the charges that have been made to my credit card account because he was unable to find my plan. I get an email from the company asking for a receipt, I followed the instructions that were given to me verbally and sent a photo of the two most recent charges made to my account. I was replied with an email asking for a receipt again and said I do not have a receipt. I receive another reply telling me to contact ***.
I called ***, and explained to them the situation I was experiencing and they put a stop-pay on all future charges made by ***. I replied to the *** email and told them that I have put a stop-pay against them and that the plan I have with them is cancelled despite their receipt policy.
We apologize for any difficulty with the cancellation of this warranty.
Most Squaretrade warranties arrive into our system with consumer information attached, but in certain instances we may need more information to complete the policy registration. In this case Squaretrade was unable to complete this registration, of which was necessary for us to process the cancellation.
We understand the consumer has stopped payment and we again apologize for any inconvenience. Should the consumer ascertain the item receipt we would recommend they contact us for additional assistance.
It was pretty complicated for a easy transition also did not get the full amount for the printer
