I bought my child a set of headphones for his Xbox One. They were dropped and no longer charge so I decided to file against the protection plan I bought. The plan is not being upheld on their end. Why did I bother buying a protection plan for a child's product if the plan is no good.
We apologize we were unable to approve this claim.Squaretrade provides a variety of warranties, of which include differences in the type of coverage. This includes Standard and Accident Protection plans. Which plan is available depends on the item category and where the product was purchased, though Squaretrade does our best to provide consumers options. In this case Squaretrade was unable to approve the claim because the damage to the item exceeded the warranty's coverage. Due to this we have cancelled the warranty for a full refund of it's purchasing price.

I purchased a plan through *** When I went to connect the plan to my existing account, the customer service representative told me that it was invalid and they would not honor it. They cancelled my plan and refunded it. They said it is only business to business that can buy and use this plan. No where on the *** site for this product did it say that. I want my plan that was purchased to be honored. I would not have purchased the phone I did knowing that I would not be able to cover it with the plan I purchased. Now I'm stuck with the phone without a warranty or I have to buy a month to month one with a high deductible. I just want what I was promised on the original purchase. I have screenshots of the description to prove they did not deliver what was promised.

Great customer service that did its homework but also had my best interest at heart. Ended ujp needing a new TV and it was shipped without any problems.

This letter is about extended warranty issued by “ Square Trade” company. Two years ago we bought a 65” Samsung tv from *** with extended warranty for three years.
Last May our problem started, we had a small white light in bottom middle part of the tv, but most of the picture was ok. So we phone SquareTrade for repair. They ask us do test and send them results. We did so, and without sending any technicians they concluded that the tv is damaged, and said take the pro rated refund.
The tv is not physically damaged. Now tv is stopped working. Please help us to get it repaired or replaced.

I purchased a protection plan at Walmart during checkout on a two TV's and they told me it covered any damage to the TV's to then have damage and be told by SquareTrade tells me that it's not covered. The pictures on the pamphlet even show a cracked screen so the advertising is misleading when you are in a line with people behind you and not able to fully read protection plan terms.

Squaretrade TV warranties include extensive coverage against hardware and electrical failures due to normal usage, this plan does not include coverage against Accidental Protection. This has been the case for many years and we greatly apologize if the consumer felt the plan was not clearly advertised, as this is something we strive to achieve.This is why we provide our consumers access to their warranties via our website and app, as well as a contract that can be found on our website and app and can also provide any time upon request. Fast online turnaround. Got approval for my claim within a couple of hours and had the check 2 or 3 days later. Well worth the money, especially for accidental damage claims.
customer service was very good, responded promptly and resolved my claim within couple days after my initial contact.
I ordered a watch from *** and purchased the additional insurance. Screws fell out of the watch and *** wouldn't back their product up unless it was mechanical. I went to the additional insurance and filed a claim online. I was told it was approved and I could call for a resolution. I called and they told me I would get $84 *** gift card and $82.45 in *** which I could use both to replace the watch or fix it. I was told I would receive 2 emails one would be for the gift card with the code and I would receive that immediately. I would receive the *** within 1 business day. I didn't and I have gone back and forth with them over the last couple weeks on not receiving the cash. First they told me I was only receiving the *** gift card, which I told them I have both emails saying otherwise. Then they told me to call them. I did and they told me that it was an accounting problem that they are having with the *** and I would receive it within 24 hours. 2 days later I contacted them again when I didn't receive it by email. They told me to call them they said they were really sorry about it and I would receive it within 1 day. They sent me the same code for the *** gift card that they already sent me. I emailed them back telling them I already received that and this is for the *** and I want to speak with a manager. They told me to call. They gave me a reference number this time and told me within 24-48 hours I would receive it. I still have received nothing and it has been 3-4 days since then. I am getting the run around with them not wanting to pay what they said they would.

In this instance, the consumer was approved for a resolution that is called ***. Squaretrade provided the reimbursement to the consumer in the form of an e-gift card that was emailed to the consumer and has been confirmed that it has been received on the 16th of July. Since Squaretrade provided this consumer an e-gift card which compensated their item cost we have met the warranty limit and therefore completed the plan. We have also provided an additional full warranty refund as a courtesy, via check though this is an exception to the standard process. Thanks

In this instance Squaretrade provided a full reimbursement for a *** watch previously covered by us, fully compensating the consumer. Our warranty is in place until it's expiration or until the coverage limit for the warranty has been met. Squaretrade provided the consumer an e gift card and is sending a check which fully compensated their item cost. We have also provided an additional full warranty refund as a courtesy, though this is an exception to the standard process. A SquareTrade specialist reached out to the consumer to address their concerns as well as to clarify the reimbursement process. I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. All the people I have talked to have been very unprofessional. The email states that they owe me $82.45. That is what they sent to me. After talking with a specialist she even stated that is what they sent and understood how confusing it is, that they are making changes to that. In order to end communication with this company. I am accepting the check of $16.44 and will never recommend this warranty company to anyone.

I called up SquareTrade and got an immediate response. All I had to do was send him some pictures of my screen and I had a new TV delivered to me within just a few days. It was great! I would highly recommend getting this extended warranty for your TV.

I purchased a squaretrade warranty for an electric *** string trimmer that I bought online. The warranty that I purchased stated that it covered all "electrical and mechanical" issues.
After just a few months of owning the trimmer, the wing bolt that secures the forward handle failed, and the plastic wing let go of the bolt shaft. This meant that the forward handle was loose and could not be adjusted or used, essentially rendering the entire trimmer non-usable.
Obviously the structural failure of a moving part (in this case an adjustable bolt) is a mechanical issue. So I called to file a claim to get the part repaired, and was told that "anything that is broken is considered to have been an accident, and therefore is not covered under your warranty."
I asked the customer service person to clarify that statement and was told that according to Squaretrade policy if any part of a covered product was cracked, broken, or loose, that it's automatically considered an accident, and is then excluded from any Squaretrade warranty coverage.
So I wonder if a product breaking is excluded from the warranty, what on earth does the warranty actually cover? To me this sounds like a very shady business practice, selling consumers an extended warranty, and then not honoring that warranty when the product fails or breaks down.
The customer service person did give me a pro-rated refund of my policy price (a whole $5.46), which was nice enough I suppose, but I would have much rather that Squaretrade simply honor their contract instead of making up reasons to deny my claim.

Purchased a warranty for a smart watch from squaretrade. Watch stopped working without any physical damage done to it (i experienced normal wear and tear) and I filed a claim through squaretrade. They sent the watch back and refused to fix it because they had found damage done to the watch. The representative told me over the phone that the damage was visible from pictures they had and when I received my broken watch back from squaretrade there are no signs of damage. They offered to refund my warranty in full, however, I have not accepted it yet.

Squaretrade offers both Standard and Accidental protection plans, which plan is available depends on your item category and where the policy was purchased.
Squaretrade uses certified technicians to complete our repairs, of whom extensively audit every product that we service coming in to our facilities. Upon the initial audit diagnostic testing the technician found that the back sensor was cracked.
Due to this issue it was determined This item sustained physical damage. This type of damage is not covered by a standard warranty plans as it only covers failures due to normal usage and due to this determination we are unable to approve the consumer's claim
Since this issue is not covered within our standard protection plan we did offered a full refund for the warranty purchasing price. We again apologize for any inconvenience.

We also do our best to clearly communicate between different departments, though phone specialists may not be able to explain an audit result with the same clarity of our technicians. Due to the consumer's experience Squaretrade has offered a full refund of the warranty purchasing price, as we do our best to accommodate all consumers. This exception was also offered due to any miscommunication regarding the audit for this product. When I bought my rca tv from *** I also got the extended warranty. When my tv got hit by lightning a covered issue the company refused to file my clain. Insisted I would have to plug the tv back in to trouble shoot it. Mimd you its no power or nothing as it was fried due to being hit by lightning. When I explaimed that could cause bodily harm by doing so the supervisor refused to help me and issue a replacement.
