Told them what the problem was and received a check a week later.

The young lady that helped me was very knowledgeable and helpful. I sent the phone back and was informed by emails to keep me updated. I received the check in no time at all.

Awesome experience with my repair of my *** laptop. Square trade provided the box and paid postage for delivery and return. It took only 6 week days total to complete and return my laptop

After phoning in to cancel the contract we were assured that we will no longer be charged the monthly insurance premium, however Square trade continues to automatically deduct 7.99 from our account every month. I have attempted to contact them several times and I’m always informed that a supervisor will call me back. I have not received a callback and I continue to be charged monthly

Allstate Protection Plans Response • Jul 04, 2019

We apologize for the experience the consumer received.

After reviewing the account, it appears that we have already refunded the charged amounts as requested on 5/22/19. We don't show any additional charges other than the ones refunded already and since the plan is canceled this concern has been resolved.

The product is Square Soft's warranty.
I purchased a warranty through Square Soft for a computer mouse that I purchased through ***.
The mouse now has electrical issues. I contacted Square Soft and filed a claim weeks ago.
Square Soft is now claiming that their contracted technician is unable to duplicate the electrical issue. This is of course a lie because electronic hardware is incapable of repairing itself. This is a common tactic that Square Soft has been accused of using; they pretend the broken item isn't broken and then deny the claim.
This is fraud.

We apologize for any difficulty with this repair.Squaretrade technicians must be able to duplicate the item failure in order to provide service. This process is in place to determine the best way to resolve the device issues, as an item which passes a full hardware diagnostic is returned to the consumer unrepaired. One of our specialists has reached out to the consumer and requested we are notified if the device returns still experiencing issues. If that is the case we would request the consumer updates us so we can proceed accordingly.

Avoids at all cost-
I have been using square trade for years. As soon as *** and them because one company. I have been having nothing but issues with them. I have had one claim approved last year. They gave me hell with two computers. One desktop that they kept going around in circles with since March. I have spoken to 3 different reps. Got so frustrated and didn’t bother with it. Called back last week. Went far got the label and box and shipped it off. I had desk top since 2016 and has had warranty this whole time. They aren’t fixing it or giving me the money for the unit. Get this they are giving me the amount I spent on the warranty back. My computer had a bug in it according to them. Not on the cables or the hard drive. Just at the back of it. They claim this voids it. Now I am being sent back a unit that doesn’t work. How am I going to know a unit that I have had since 2016 that works perfectly fine stops working because bug got into it they say. Yet cables are fine.I would have been satisfied with the unit fixed. Mean while the laptop they won’t fix at all and tell me they will refund me the amount I spent on the warranty. I will never ever do business with this company again. Cancelling all of my warranties. If they fail oh well. I am tired of the lack of help and them not helping me! Tired of these companies that treat loyal customers like this. I have like 5 or more warranties with them what can I do but cancel them and be out of luck ! Sad I am just sad and disappointed!

-I bought a TV from *** in August of 2015. I spent $2,000.00 on the TV. I purchased a protection plan that would cover my purchase if something happened. I was told that Square trade would cover the TV and give a like TV if something happened and If there was not a like TV I would be refunded the Money I spent. It took me several days to find a TV that would work in a room with 18 feet of windows and has day light over 12 hours a day glaring into the room.
Fast forward to June 2019. The LED TV failed and Square Trade said it was not worth fixing it. I was sent a list of 4 TV's that were entry level TV's and had no where the same specifics. So I called and spoke to a member of the Square Trade TV warrantee section. I was told by one member that "it is a computer generated list" and someone would send out a new list in 24 hours.
The next day I was sent out another TV. This TV was close in specifics but was not a TV for bright rooms. So I called Square Trade back and spoke to a manager and explained that when I purchased a $2,000.00 TV the first time I have to take in consideration the room setting and after review the specs on the current offer it was not suitable in my room. the Manager said he would write it up and I would here back in 24 hours.
The next day Square Trade emailed me and basically said tough the TV offered is close and if is not up to them to look a reviews. So I called again this time I was on hold for 50 minutes before a manager came onto the phone and said Square Trade does not care about the room and the TV offered if the only thing I was going to be offered and If I did not like it I could take my receipt to *** and get my $89.99 back. I explained to him that when buying a TV you have to take into count the room dynamics, what you'er going to be watching and where you will be sitting in the room. Plus if you buy a $2,000.00 TV if it does not work you can return it. If I get the TV from them and it does not work I am Stuck. His response was Square Trade does not care about what room the TV will be in.
If you buy a TV don't waste your money if the TV has to be in a room with special dynamics like bright light of wide viewing angles because Square Trade will not work with you.

SquareTrade was professional and they delivered customer service , I would recommend aquare trade to anyone. Thank you very much .

The wait time to talk to an agent was short. The agent was very courteous and knowledgeable. He guide me though the maze and identify the problem correctly. He solved the problem and save me a service call. Very pleasant experience.

I worked for *** between feb 2015 and November 2018. One of the products we sold was SquareTrade protection plans. Between November 2017 and November 2018 a corporate trainer from SquareTrade came to teach a group of us about their product. We were informed by this trainer we were the only retailer allow reed to insure purchases made from other retailers within 30 days. I warrantied a controller from *** and a headset from *** at ***t let this information. Both items failed in the contract period and upon attempting to file a claim I was informed that only the SquareTrade website is able to warranty purchases from different vendors. I asked to speak to a manager on the phone *** but was never allowed to speak with him. I was informed I would receive a callback from a manager at SquareTrade to resolve my issue and it has now been 5 days without contact. My warranty coverage send 7/2:19 and 6/5/19 respectively so I feel this “callback resolution” was simply an attempt to punt the issue to outside the coverage period. Both claims were filed and denied inside the coverage period. I have spent no less than 6 hours trying to collect $80 from a large company who appears to have engaged in misleading corporate training to sell more of their product. I will never purchase SquareTrade again and will attempt to persuade anyone I know considering them not to trust them as a company.

Allstate Protection Plans Response • Jul 04, 2019

We apologize for your claim experience attempting to utilize your warranties.

After reviewing the situation, it appears that claim was denied in error. The consumer is absolutely correct, we do allow devices from other retailers to be eligible for a protection plan from *** We have provided claim resolutions for both of the consumer's warranties. We are also investigating the origin of this error to ensure this does not happen again.

I spent $1,400 on the Sony 50m 1.4 lens and bought the squaretrade warranty. Right before my warranty was up in March, I was having an issue with the manual focus button on the lens not working which was not a big deal. But I decided to send it in. When I received the lens back, it was working fine. I used the lens a couple of times and within 90 days of getting it back, I took it on a walk. I was wearing the camera around my neck and the lens literally split apart and the glass part of the lens hit the ground. After looking at the lens I noticed that the four tiny screws that hold the two lens pieces came completely unscrewed. I took the lens to a local camera repair shop and they specifically said that there is no way the lens would come apart had the screws been properly torqued. I called Sony and they said the exact same. So, I reached out to Trade Square assuming they would also warrant the work they did. And they told me it was pass the 30 day warranty they have for work done. I spoke to multiple people/managers, etc and they all said the same. Basically, I'm SOL. The reality is that if I never sent my lens off to have the small issue of manual focus button "fixed", I'd still have a perfectly functioning lens. But because I sent it off to them, I know have a $1,400 paper weight.

You would think SquareTrade would actually back the work that they do. But they don't. The only way I would of known they didn't tighten the screws (that are internal) within the 30 day period, would have been to take the lens completely apart. Makes zero sense.

Allstate Protection Plans Response • Jul 04, 2019

We apologize for any concerns the consumer is experiencing. The consumer contacted Squaretrade to file a claim and we advised the warranty was expired, meaning additional claims could not be filed. Squaretrade does provide a 90 day rework period for these type of items, wherein we will service any hardware or electrical failures for a recently repaired device. Unfortunately, we were not notified of the issues with this device until after the rework and warranty expiration nearly 5 months later. Due to thiswe would be unable to provide any additional claims or warranty assistance since this is outside the coverage term and rework period.

Allstate Protection Plans Response • Jul 17, 2019

We do apologize for any dissatisfaction with the repairs for this product.Squaretrade utilizes certified technicians to complete our repairs, of whom are extensively trained to provide satisfactory service. Any item serviced by these technicians undergoes a full hardware audit to ensure the service was completed properly and experiencing no additional failures. This is also why we provide the rework period of 90 days.Since we were not notified of the concerns with these repair until after the warranty and rework period expiration we would not be able to provide additional service.

Complaint: ***

I am rejecting this response because the screws weren't torqued correctly no matter how you look at it.

Sincerely

I purchased a warranty for a *** sound bar through Sams club with a 3 year term. Several months ago, about 2 years into that term, I began experiencing issues with my sound bar where sound would randomly cut out and the only way to get it working again was to completely unplug the sound bar and plug it back in. This would occur randomly, sometimes after an hour, other times it would take several days or even a week before I saw the issue again. On June 4, 2019 I shipped the sound bar to your repair facility *** and received my device back about a week and a half later. The documentation indicted that they did some soldering and that the device was repaired. Within 45 min of turning it back on and using it (via optical cable) the device once again became unresponsive and had to be power cycled. I immediately called your customer service and sent it back in *** I indicated to the rep at the time that I could wait and provide video of this occurring, but they indicated this was not needed. Now about a week and a half later I received notification that they tested the device and did not find any issue and are sending it back. I find it hard to believe that they left it plugged into each input for 7+ days each to witness the issue given that much time hasn't passed. I have contacted your support multiple times and your reps are not knowledgeable on how to help and only repeat themselves over and over again. It seems as though you are refusing to uphold your end of the contract that I purchased for this device and have gone to great lengths (including spending more in shipping it back and forth than it's even worth).

Allstate Protection Plans Response • Jul 04, 2019

We apologize for any dissatisfaction with our claims process.
Squaretrade attempts to thoroughly check and test each product that is submitted for repairs. Unfortunately when intermittent issue arise, is it possible that our technicians are unable to replicate a specific issue. With that being said, our goal is to make sure our consumers are protected and as such, we have contacted this consumer directly and provided an alternate resolution.

We apologize for any inconveniences that were experience and hope that we have come to a satisfactory resolution.

Revdex.com:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

Sincerely

Could do better when it comes to helping customers with their claims instead of replacing my phone they wanna send me a check and I gotta go awhile without a phone while waiting for them to replace my phone by check.

Very fast response on problem with 4 year old smart TV. We went thru the requested test with a rep to reboot the tv and emailed the pictures they requested. (Color was not consistent on top and bottom of screen.) Within a couple of days we were advised the tv would be replaced with a brand new one and we were given 3 choices. We ordered basically the same *** (just a newer 2018 model) and we received it two days later by ***. There was not a single negative aspect about our experience with SquareTrade and we were amazed to find out that their reps also work over the weekend which expedited the claim so quickly. As a rule I'm not great about writing reviews but this was such a positive experience that I felt compelled to do so.

After filing claims for a few devices with Square Trade, I've started to get protection plans for almost every-single product I buy now. Square Trade have responded to my claims within 20minutes to 1 hour with what my options for compensation are.
You are typically given three options.
1) Get a check in the mail for a little less than what you purchased your device for.
2) Send your product in and get a similar or better product sent back to you.
3) Get compensated for repairing your device.
So far I've gone with the cash options as the compensated price was pretty-good every time, so I do not know how Square Trade performs in terms of the other two options. I have never had a square trade claim be rejected (Just make sure you read the description on what your insurance plan covers!).
Overall I highly recommend Square Trade Plans!

Very helpful, professional, and courteous. I recieved the cheque for my damaged laptop along with the hard-drive very quickly. Never gonna buy a product without SquareTrade Warranty. Thank you SquareTrade Team!!

Service was prompt and excellent (though waiting on phone was a bit long)

I thought there was an issue with the phone after trouble shooting. Icalled in for a claim. about 1hr 15 min later I discovered the issue and requested they cancel the claim. They said the already shipped the replacement phone. I received it, did not open it , requested to return it and cancel the claim and Square Trade refuses to do so. Stated I must take the phone and my policy will be cancelled. I don't need the phone, it is fraud against the insurance company and I want the claim discarded and the new/replacement phone returned

scarded and the new u

Allstate Protection Plans Response • Jul 04, 2019

We apologize we were unable to cancel this claim.

After reviewing this situation, we are unable to complete the request of the consumer. Unfortunately, with their item's seller specifically, once a phone is ordered they do not accept returns. All of their consumers are advised of this policy and this is why we cannot process the return of an the phone after the claim was approved. We apologize for this inconvenience and we highly recommend holding on to the new replacement in case there is a future issue with this device.

Moving forward, this concern is being raised with the appropriate department to review the current policy and see what alteration could and should be done.

During a recent move, I dropped my phone and ever since that time had nothing but problems. I called Square Trade and they immediately sent a replacement phone, along with an envelope with a pre-paid label for return of the old phone. I was impressed and will be remembering this experience favorably. The only issue I can site is they did not mention that my phone was not available for replacement and another selection was sent. Okay, I'll deal with it.

Great and honest company business. My printer stopped working only 1 year that I owed it. I am so happy that I purchased the warranty, no hassle sent me a check and was able to go out and buy a new one.
