I’d give no stars if possible. I’m disabled & paid good money for the warranty and the $59 deductible BUT after receiving my watch back there’s a problem with the replacement battery!!! What did they do give me a recycled battery for the $100 paid in total to them!! I’ve been told to do a hard reset which I did 2X but still won’t charge above 76%-81% When it says 81% I tried turning it off/on but then reads only 76%, WHAT...... Come on give me a new *** battery!!

I normally do not purchase Square Trade type products. In fact this was the first time! Sadly, within 3 months I was contacting Square Trade with a claim. Once I was able to dig thru my purchase information and provide the facts and share it with Square Trade, I was provided a full refund of my purchase price! What else can I say?

The representative was pleasent and efficient. Overall, a good experience.

First time I had to use square trade.Glad to know that Square Trade is very good service.
From start to finish the process was easy with good response times.

Square Trade sent me to an authorized repair shop. The shop really scratched and dinged up my phone trying to remove the screen to replace the charging port. The shop said that happens. When I initially called Square Trade they wanted me to go back to the repair shop and tell them I talked to them and to make it right. I argued that I wasn't going to drive 10 miles again and waste a few hours of time to fight with the repair shop. I had to request to talk to a supervisor at Square Trade. That took quite a bit of time on hold. I had to plead my case and argue to get my deductible back. They offered to send me another phone, but then again, I'd have to invest the time to transfer everything over. For $100 warranty, and then to pay $85 for what was $125 repair you expect it done right the first time.

I purchased a TV and a Square trade contract to specifically cover the cost of the TV should it fail. I paid $1468+ tax and a Square trade warranty that covered items equal to the value. The TV failed and I called Square trade. A service tech Titian came out a couple of times and ultimately determined that the TV was bad and needed to be replaced. Square trade excepted that finding and sent me a list of three televisions from which to choose as my replacement. I looked into each television and the price for the TV options were between four and $600. I replied to square trade and said that I had purchased a warranty for items in the range of the original cost of my television, $1468. I asked that they send me more television options that were in the same price range as the original TV that I had purchased or that they simply reimburse me the original cost of my television, $1468 + tax . Square trade said that they will not send me a list of comparable TVs in the price range of my original purchase and they would not send me a reimbursement check for the price that I paid for my original TV. Square trade said that they will only send me options that are equivalent to features on my TV and television prices had declined significantly since I had purchased my television. I told Square trade that when I purchased my warranty, the warranty was Price specific. For example for $89 you can purchase a warranty for an item price between $1000 and $1500 or for $99 you could purchase insurance for items price between 1500 and $2000. These are just examples of how they market their Square trade warrantys. Prices may be different now. I inform them that I am requesting a reimbursement for the cost of my original television, $1468 as that is the amount of purchase coverage that I purchased when I bought my Square trade warranty. Their marketing practices are very deceptive as you choose warrantees based on a price of the items that you were purchasing. At this point I am specifically requesting a reimbursement check for the original cost of my television.

We apologize for any misunderstanding regarding our replacement offers.Whenever Squaretrade is determining a replacement unit for our consumers we are basing these offers on the technical specifications of the original unit. This allows Squaretrade to provide replacements which are accurately comparable, as we do not make these determinations on varying factors such as reviews or pricing. TVs depreciate rapidly over time and Squaretrade is typically able to ascertain a TV comparable to one from multiple years ago at a lower price point than originally purchased. If the consumer has concerns with the technical specifications of our replacement offer we would request we are provided these details. Otherwise we are unable to provide additional assistance, as we are providing a resolution as per our warranty contract.

We apologize for any misunderstanding regarding our warranty purchasing or claim processing policies.Squaretrade informs our consumers to purchase a warranty which covers the price paid for their item, as this is the value Squaretrade will cover for devices. Our warranties are intended to cover hardware and electrical failures of consumer products and is not intended to protect against market pricing. Squaretrade provides repair, replacement and reimbursement resolutions dependent on the item category and the issue it is experiencing. We do not guarantee one specific resolution within our warranty contract and these resolutions are determined per our discretion. Unfortunately we cannot provide resolutions per consumer request. In this case we have provided a replacement TV offer which we feel meets the technical specifications of the consumer's original product. Since we are providing a resolution which meets our warranty contract we would not migrate this claim to an alternative resolution, we again apologize for any inconvenience.

Complaint: ***I am rejecting this response because: I will accept a refund of $1499.99 which was my original purchase price of TV and it is the amount I need to buy a comparable mid-tier TV

SquareTrade works their hardest not offer a replacement and when they do, they do not offer a comparable, “in-time” replacement. They claim that all they have to do is match specs, despite their contract specifically having you choose a cash value for your protection policy. Then when they offer you a replacement they cost half of your original TV, they claim that TVs depreciate quickly and all we need to do is provide you with TV with equal features. I made the point that I purchased a mid-tier TV for $1499 at the time and I purchased a ST Warranty and chose that cash value so that if TV broke, I could buy another mid-tier TV to replace broke TV. They will not budge and will only offer me the solution of a TV that you can readily buy for $800-$900. I asked them to please just reimburse me for the original cost of the TV, $1499. They said they could not refund me. This is simply not true. Their contract clearly states they can and will provide a refund to the customer. That is all I am asking for is a refund so that I can buy the TV of my choice to replace my broken TV, not one they dictate to me. Here is their contract language. Please refund me the original purchase price of my TV, $1499 so that we can move on from this ST nightmare and I would gladly halt Revdex.com and State Attorney General action to try and recover what is mine. 5. HOW WE WILL SERVICE YOUR PRODUCT:Depending on the Product and failure circumstances, We will either:A. Repair Your Product, orB. Provide a cash settlement or a gift card reflecting the replacement cost of a new product of equal featuresand functionality up to the Coverage Amount, orC. Provide a new or refurbished product of equal features and functionality.Response to SquareTrade. I have initiated legal action to obtain my requested refund. As I’ve established, your low end replacement TV is not acceptable and per your contract, my contract Attorney agrees. that you are able to provide me a reimbursement. He knows first hand that you have provided customers refunds as a means of resolution at SquareTrade’s discretion. We are drafting a writ to obtain my refund of $1499+ Attorney fees and loss of time spent arguing with SquareTrade about your resolution to my simple TV cost replacement request. Costco is also included and will receive all correspondents also. The senior person that I talked to at Costco was not happy to hear that Square Trade is treating their customers this way. I urged him to review their ST relationship and he said he will look into it further as they have had many complaints. So hopefully, we will see alternatives at Costco in near future.

Sincerely

I bought a Amazon Fire 10" Tablet on line from QVC and it offered insurance from Square Trade. And I remember the insurance said for Drops and spills. I thought perfect for the person I was buying it for. Because they are always waisting or dropping things. Now I tried to file a claim and they say I don't have that kind of insurance. The insurance us just to fix electrical only. U told the customer service guy, I think you guys are running a scam on people. We think we are buying one kind of insurance and then you tell me no no that's not what I bought. That's why I bought that insurance period drops and spills.

We apologize for any difficulty with this recent claim.Squaretrade does our best to approve all consumer claims but we're limited to covering issues which correspond with the relevant warranty. Squaretrade offers plan which include both Standard and Accidental Protection, each with varying degrees of protection. One of our specialists has reached out to the consumer to ascertain the details of their purchase. Once provided we will see if we can provide any additional information or resolution.

Customer Service assisted me on fling my claim. The CS was friendly and most helpful.

My product was still under original manufacturer warranty and I had to contact them directly. The Square Trade representative was excellent.....but the original manufacturer representative was a different story. Waiting to send a review about them...not good!

Initially didn’t want to deal with product that went bad after 2 month purchase. Once I persisted in contacting company , they had me send the non working back to them for repair . Two weeks later they determined it could not be fixed. Rather than replace it they are sending a check which won’t replace the product I purchased

Website was a little tricky when I first used it. But I was able to navigate well overall.
Good customer service. Good response time. Glad I used Square Trade. It was worth it since the product I got was not good.

Great experience. Very helpful.

Even though my *** was still under manufacturers' warranty, You guys where great at hooking me up with the *** store and they fixed to in less than an hour!
You guys & gals are great, Best Warranty service bar none. I tell every one that they need a square trade warranty!

I purchased an extended warranty on a phone when I purchased it from Amazon. The phone failed, and I contacted square trade. First they told me I needed to contact the manufacturer for warranty service. The manufacturer said they no longer supported the device, so I contacted square trade again to have the phone serviced under the extended warranty. I was then told that the issue, which was problematic screen and charging port, was not covered because these problems MUST HAVE been caused by physical abuse or drop damage. I researched the issues online and have found that they are very common known issues with these phones that were not representative of physical damage or abuse, and would have been covered by warranty had the device still been under original warranty. Square trade offered to buy out the extended warranty agreement for $20, which I declined because they are obligated to fix or replace my phone, which I expect them to do. I asked for a supervisor, got hung up on, they called me back and gave me the run around. After being disconnected a second time, I received an email telling me the policy was cancelled. even though I told them not to.

We apologize for any difficulty with the processing of this claim.Squaretrade does our best to assist every consumer. However, when filing claims we must verify that the issue with the item corresponds with the consumer's warranty coverage. Though there was an initial discrepancy with this item's failure this has since been resolved and the consumer's claim approved for a local repair.

We purchased a 4 year extended warranty on our smart tv. The television no longer connects to our wifi so we cannot access Netflix, YouTube, etc. We called LG who did diagnostics and stated the tv needed repair. We then called Square Trade who holds the warranty. After speaking to multiple departments and multiple people, the Tv technicians did the same diagnostics and stated we needed to send the tv in for repair. They sent us the packaging and we sent them the tv only to receive it back stating it had been repaired, yet when we set it up, the same problem existed. After multiple calls and waiting for a manager to call back, which never happened, I began calling again. Again, the tv technicians went through all the diagnostics and determined the tv needed to be sent in for repair. They told me they would "expedite" the claim. At the same time, I received emails stating they were trying to get in touch with me by the phone number on file, but were unable to do so. I left multiple messages at the number they listed, but received no call back. I had verified they had the correct number each time I called the customer service number, so I know the number is correct. I received another email stating my claim had been approved and in 1-2 business days I would receive an email with a printable shipping label. That was 3 days ago and I still have not received anything. Spam and junk folders were checked, but no correspondence. No reply to the email I sent stating I still did not receive the shipping label.

We apologize for any inconvenience or delay experienced with this claim.Squaretrade performs a full hardware diagnostic of any item we service and this product is only returned to the consumer if it has passed this diagnostic. This prevents the vast majority of reoccurring failures with items we service but we have several policies in place to address concerns of that nature if needed. When the consumer notified us of this item's failure upon receipt we approved another claim to have the product concerns addressed. If our technicians are unable to repair the device issues the item will be salvaged and the consumer's claim migrated to replacement or reimbursement. We understand the consumer has experienced delay with their shipping label and one of our specialists will be following up within 1-2 business days with an update regarding this. Due to these delays we have also processed a full warranty refund, of which will arrive to the consumer within 7 business days.

Allstate Protection Plans Response • Apr 30, 2019

We apologize for any miscommunication regarding the shipment of this device.Due to this consumer's experience we have provided a new resolution and forwarded the details of this resolution to the email address on file. We hope this is more satisfactory and appreciate the consumer's patience in this matter.

Revdex.com:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. If I actually receive refund of the purchase price of the television, I will be satisfied. I received an email stating this claim has been approved and they will send reimbursement within 5 days. I am currently awaiting payment.

Sincerely

Great customer service, I shattered my *** screen on a Saturday and had a replacement and up and running on Tuesday at no additional cost

Had an extended warranty with Squaretrade on a printer that went bad. Called them and agent was really nice. Once they received proof of my warranty, they immediately approved compensation for printer. I would not hesitate to use them again and highly recommend them to others.

Usually very easy to work with and very quick getting your money back to you

Square Trade was very good. I'm glad that, in the end, I didn't have to use them to pay for a new chair. *** instructions could have been better. Everyone from Square Trade was helpful.

I was pleased with the response about getting a replacement for the ear buds I purchased. I explained to the young lady that one the buds was not working. She asked some questions, then explained that they were still under warranty. I very much appreciated the time, and how to send them back to receive another pair. Thank you.
