I'm sure that some have had problems with Square Trade, but everything worked well during my claim. I had to call in but the operator was helpful and quick. I received a full refund check in the mail in jest a few days.
Very pleased with how quick and easy it was to file a claim and receive a refund from Square Trade
Horrible. Don’t let this company scam you. I paid for the insurance when I made a purchase. Finally when I need to use this insurance they made it impossible. I got caught. I hope they get caught eventually. Shame on *** for letting this company run scams on their customers
When I purchased the protection plan for the laptop that I purchased at a *** in *** I was told that any problems that I had with that product even accidental damage or problems my laptop would be sent in for repairs at no charge to me. I filed a claim with Square Trade yesterday and was approved for repairs or replacement. I was told that I would receive an email stating what actions were going to happen. I did receive that email and 3 other emails. The final email said that it wasn't *** to replace my laptop so they are offering me my money back. I don't want that because I can't replace my laptop for the origanal price. They are claiming that I was told their 3 repair options which I hadn't until today just by what the manager was telling me. The previous supervisor told me he would email their policy and he did while I was on hold waiting for the manager I read the email about their supposed policies and it says nothing about being reimbursed for the amount of your product. The manager refused to connect to the person above him. I feel that they misrepresented their protection plan when I purchased it and now they are coming up with these apparent rules but the email that I received from them says nothing about what they are telling me on the phone. I feel that they are falsely representing their product or service and then when you actually fi le a claim it doesn't correspond with what I was told and I am still be told on the phone they say one thing but the email that I received about their policies are not the same as they are stating on the phone. All I want is my laptop repaired so that is operational and I feel that the way the protection plan was explained to me when I purchased it my laptop should be repaired by then at no charge to me.
We apologize for any misunderstanding regarding our warranties. The terms and conditions of Squaretrade's warranty contract it states Squaretrade will provide a repair, replacement or reimbursement resolution per our discretion. Which resolutions are available depend on multiple factors, including the item type, issue type, and item cost. In this instance we were unable to provide a repair or replacement resolution, as these resolutions would exceed the consumer's limit of liability. The limit of liability is Squaretrade's coverage for a warrantied product, which typically is equal to the price paid for the device.Being that we have provided a resolution which meets our obligations we are unable to offer any additional assistance.
Revdex.com:I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. Sincerely
Broken computer screen fixed fast. No problems. Glad I brought protection plan.
Great to hear!
I purchased a chest freezer a little over 1 yr ago at *** and payed for a 3 year warranty with SquareTrade. The freezer has already stopped working within 1 yr and 2 months since purchase. When I tried to put in a claim with SquareTrade, they couldn't find my plan number and blamed it on *** poor record keeping. From the sound of the accents I heard, the customer service center is in *** or surrounding countries. The agent was rude and made sarcastic comments when asking me for my membership info. Their is no option to request a home visit for repair. You either have to mail it in (a freezer????) or take it to a repair center. They said it would take 48 hours just to find the warranty plan and process the claim. Meanwhile, I have hundreds of dollars worth of meat and frozen foods (that I bought at ***) that will spoil before then. I am probably going to have to go to another place to by a new freezer tomorrow. Thanks for nothing SquareTrade. I wish I could them 0 stars. DO NOT BUY THEIR WARRANTY. Its a waste of time and money.
I tried to file a claim with SquareTrade purchased thru *** and SquareTrade can't acknowledge the account terms when i'm providing them with an ACCOUNT NUMBER associated with policy they sold me.
That's fraud .
How can a "*** company sell a policy without knowing what they are insuring ?
Regarding Policy # Plan Number xxxxxxxxxxx
I getting the run around trying to make a claim
I had a great experience start to finish. Service is worth the cost. I would be more likely to purchase again now.
Always a smart idea :)
No issues. I understand that they have to be VERY thorough troubleshooting my TV, especially thinking about how dishonest people can be. They wanted to replace possible defective components before completely replacing the whole unit. So it was pretty annoying to have to schedule a repair and then have to wait another week or so to get our replacement TV. They gave us three comparable choices to pick from and had it shipped to us. It was worth the money to me. Our original 49" 4K TV only lasted three years. We now have a brand new 50" 4K that I believe is better quality. The insurance cost MUCH LESS than the replacement would have.
We apologize if you found the troubleshooting to be tedious but glad we were able to deliver in the end after-all!
Very timely. Super nice people. Great customer service!!!
Thank you! The team will love to hear this!
The call was in a timely manner and who I spoke to was friendly and knowledgeable. Even when the representative informed me SquareTrade couldn't help me he was fast and knew his job, and told me where I needed to be and why. Thanks
Thank you for being so understanding. Awesome to have you as a customer.
Very easy to file a claim online and quick turnaround time. I was instructed to take my *** to a local repair shop. Dropped off my phone during my lunch hour and picked it up after work. Great customer at the repair shop and Best part I did not have to pay for anything!
We aim to have the claims process as painless as possible!
When purchasing the Square Trade Protection Plan I wasn't informed the plan runs concurrent with the manufacturers protection plan in addition to the 1 year *** protection Plan. That being said, I purchased a 65 inch *** Smart TV on 10/14/2013 at ***. Along with the TV I purchased the 3 year Square Trade protection Plan on the same day; Unfortunately the TV picture went out on 12/1/2018, When I contacted Square Trade I was told my plan had expired on 10/14/2018 and there was nothing they would do to help me. I explained that I was a senior citizen on a fixed income and asked my plan be extended to cover this repair (cost of repair $1000). I was told NO!. I caution every one not to do business with this company. I called around and those other warranty companies do not run concurrent, but in fact start when the original manufactures warranty plan expire. I even reached out to *** (where I have been a member since 1985) and again told no (my *** card is in small little pieces). BEWARE THE CONSUMMER
Had my *** go out after 4 years and 9 months but had a 5 year warranty with Square Trade. I had to go through a lot of test and one required me to take the 60" TV off the wall so I could unplug. Told them I couldn't do this and for them to send out a service man. They would not do unless I took TV off wall first and ran the test. Fortunately my son and son in laws came over for Thanksgiving and we took the TV off the wall. Only real issue is understanding the technicians on the phone. Anyway after 3 calls and all test performed they replaced the TV in 4 days and lived up to the warranty. I went into *** and told the story to the salesman so they could use when selling the warranty to other customers. Well worth the $50 I paid for the extended warranty.
very efficient. easy to file a claim.
Thank you!
Excellent and prompt service. Purchased a phone from Consumer Cellular and the glass was chipped. Consumer Cellular referred me to Square Trade. Square Trade said it was on Consumer Cellular. Called Square Trade again and they replaced the phone immediately with no fuss. Very happy.
Thank you for being a valued customer!
Quick & fast process
Thank you!
I had purchased a *** in 1 laptop for my son and dil. The online tech people were very kind and took their time and their best to get the laptop working. They tried a few things and helped to get it going again! It saved sending it back for repair. They use it and needed it!! I'm so thankful that I got the warranty. Thank you Square Trade!
You are most welcome!
Very very disappointed with SquareTrade. After doing a little searching I have found hundreds of complaints and negative feedbacks. I did find on your main page “Hassle Free Claims” and Under your “TV Warranty” clealy states you cover “Screen Failure”. It would have been nice to have received an email or a hard copy or even a link of exactly what my warranty covered when I purchased it. Never happened. Now for my opinion of your customer support. I got the feeling after the 2nd of 4 calls (averaging 45 minutes per call… half of it wait time) that they were trying everything they could to void the warrantee that I payed for. First call not to bad. They checked a few things and said they needed my receipt even thought when I clicked on the box on the website it said my receipt was “verified”. So I sent my receipt anyway. On my 2nd call the girl had me do a few things to the TV. Unplug, replug…etc. She was reading the procedure of a computer screen or manual. Next she had me turn on the TV and go into the menu. She told me to open a few menu items on my TV. I told her that I did not have those menu’s she was asking for. Had to explain that she probably looked up the wrong model or I have a different firmware on my tv. She had no clue. So we had to skip the troubleshooting part and was sent to the TV department. Just as bad. All scripted from the computer screen. TV department was no help. They sent me an email to upload 3 pictures of the TV which I did. Next day I received an email for more pictures of the bottom right corner of the panel. Which I did. How they determined from those pictures that I have a burnt panel is beyond me. That night I logged it to check the status of my claim and everything I click on said I must call and talk to a specialist. So a 3rd call. Still waiting for a response I was told. Following day I get an email to call (So called) TV specialist. Called the number and got regular person. She told me that they determined my TV panel was burnt and it was not warrantied. She was going to send me some text showing it was not covered. I asked her to tell me where to get to it on the website. She had no clue. Then I asked her what that meant an she did not know what a burnt panel was. I told her I wanted to escalate the call and she said there was no way to escalate. I realize now that I never spoke to a person with any knowledge of tv repair. I am very familiar with how electronics work. So I did a little research. “*** work in a similar way to conventional diodes and LEDs, but instead of using layers of n-type and p-type semiconductors, they use organic molecules to produce their electrons”.
1. To make an OLED light up, we simply attach a voltage (potential difference) across the anode and cathode.
2. As the electricity starts to flow, the cathode receives electrons from the power source and the anode loses them (or it "receives holes," if you prefer to look at it that way).
So according to your diagnosis …”Burnt panel” looks like a bunch of these oled’s stopped working. It sure sounds like an electrical issue to me. aAnd electrical issues are covered under your warranty. The only issue I am having with the TV is that the yellow colors are green in the middle 1/3 of the screen. “All other 16 million colors the TV puts out are fine. Picture is perfect except for that issue. I would consider this discoloration. Was never able to talk to a real TV specialist who actually has TV repair experience or knowledge of how a TV works. I paid a lot of money for this TV and was told by the “specialist” who looked at a few cell phone pix and determined I have a “burnt” panel. When you have an issue with your car….you bring to qualified mechanic. I do not know of any mechanic or dealership voiding a warranty by phone or email without have a qualified person physically look at it first. When you have an issue with your tv you have a qualified TV service man determine the problem. Not someone sitting behind a desk reading off the computer screen. Very very disappointed with the lack of knowledge of your so called specialists. I see you are a member of the ***. I will be contacting them on how you do business and about the lack of knowledge your so called specialist have about the products you warrantee and the poor service you provide. . Also be posting on your Social Media accounts and any retailers and store that you offer your services to. Worst customer service I have ever had to deal with.

They were great! I got a 3 year warranty on my television and the screen's light ended up going out after 2 years. The website was having technical difficulties when trying to upload my receipts and pictures, but the gentleman I talked to on the phone was wonderful and very polite. He explained everything to me from troubleshooting the television to taking the pictures of the damage. They replaced the television and we had it at our home within days of the our final instructions.
So sorry for the technical difficulties but glad we came through for you!
