Considering the cost of the plan and how ST works with HD to give us consumers an extended service plan, 3 instead of 5 years, I think its great.
The process may be a bit drawn out and an agent did give me incorrect info., but eventually a knowledgeable agent handled my claim and things went fine.
I would suggest being persistent and ask questions to satisfy your conception of the plan. It took me a couple of calls in order to get to an agent who understood the HD policy. My replacement, at their discretion, was much better than what I had. Very Satisfied. Also, make sure that you register your receipt with them shortly after purchase. This will save a lot of time if a claim is needed.
Great tip -- often much of the confusion results from a failure to upload a receipt.
Had a little problem to start when talking to their rep but went back online an did everything myself had another phone the next day.
This is the 3rd time I have had to use a Square Trade warranty. They have always been fast and courteous.
We have had a multiple warranties with Square Trade and few times we actually needed to utilize them. Each of the three experiences we had were all positive. It was easy to file a claim online, and the response time was almost instantaneous. My husband filed a claim over the phone with them recently and had a similar experience. I would definitely recommend them.
Took months and months to settle my claim but once I did they did exactly what I hoped.
We're sorry about the wait and hassle! Glad we got it all squared away in the end.

I rec'd great service from Square Trade! I dropped my phone while on a field trip for school with my son. I reported the claim on a Saturday, I received feedback within minutes. I received a check in the mail for replacement of my phone within 3 days! I am very happy with SquareTrade and will definitely do business with them again!
They were very easy to work with and quickly processed my claim. The representative was very polite and easy to work with.
Square Trade was very helpful and helped me determine the problem I was experiencing was still covered under the manufacturer's warranty. They directed me to ***e for resolution, but *** has been giving me they run around and hung up on me twice. I would strongly recommend Square Trade. I would not, however endorse and *** products or expect them to assist in resolution of any product failures.
Satisfied they did what they were paid to do.
I contacted square trade for the item that stopped working and they told me to contact the manufacturer because this item should be covered by them for a year. I contacted *** and they sent me a new replacement and I am returning the malfunctioning item. Extremely satisfied with both parties for their assistance and speed in responding.
Had no problem, they got right too work and got it done within reasonable time frame. A lot of help for me.
I have no complaints. I received a check for my broken mp3 player within a week, and my experiences have been good with them so far. Even with my broken microwave a few years ago, I could get a replacement easily within a few days. I read many of the other bad reviews, I mean they expect a refund to be a hand-holding experience it seems like instead of what it is, a refund and replacement experience. In my mind, I do not need a hand-holding experience, I just want to get things done. Which is what square trade really is. Personally, I like this warranty better than some person going in a phony way, "awwwww, I understand...." for an hour or whatever. Thus, five stars.
I bought the 2 yr plan on an office chair purchased from ***. Leather cracked on one of the arms little over a yr after purchase, so filed a claim online. I did not hear anything back despite message stating I would get an email within a couple of hours with further details. Next day I did an online chat with a rep to follow up on the claim. They found my claim info, asked me a few more questions, then approved me on the spot for a fast cash check for $85.88. While the rep on the chat was very helpful and am glad they cut me a check, I am only giving this 3 stars due to the need for me to have to follow up with them on the claim and the amount of the check being less than the value of the chair (paid $99.99).
I was happy with their helping me, I thought the prorated was a little low. But it was better that a stick in the eye.
Everytime I have an issue with an item, they are quick to resolve the issue and point me in the right direction. They are very polite amd pay attention to detail. I never have to call their complaint line or make follow up calls.
Quick turn around time! I just filled out a report online, they sent me the box and returned my laptop in a few days. Amazing!
My new printer was covered under my Square Trade plan and was not repairable. I promptly received a credit voucher for what I paid for the printer to replace it.
I purchased a new printer and yes, it is covered by a Square Trade policy.
Cell phone supplied as an insured replacement had less capacity and turned out to be defective. The phone was locked and Consumers Cellular could not get it to unlock after nearly 3 hours on the phone with them. Had to return the replacement phone for another. This situation resulted in me being without my smart phone for 2 full weeks.
I'm using Consumers Cellular as my cell service, and they ended up supplying the second replacement.
I ended up with a lower capacity phone that did ultimately work.
Not very happy with this third party insurance plan. I thought I was insuring directing with Consumers Cellular!
Square Trade did a great job. I called about a broken product and they took action immediately. A check was in he mail right away. The CSR that assisted me was polite, professional and expedient. I was thankful for the assist.
