I’ve used this company for years on various different items. I’ve only had one problem with a claim, which was due to a sales person at ***, who told me rust was covered on a grill. Besides that, I’ve saved thousands of dollars because of square trade. The most recent time was a week ago when I broke my new *** Watch Series 4 by accident. By far the best warranty company I have ever dealt with!

Square Trade helped me to return the product I purchased with a full refund. Then they also refunded the cost of their insurance. I purchased the insurance with a lot of reservations. Very pleased with them and with my decision to purchase the insurance.

We have had insurance for several years with Squaretrade and several years in we had a claim for a broken screen. We made the claim, uploaded the receipt and it was rejected. I wrote customer care and they refuse to explain via email. Per their request I have tried calling with ridiculous extended hold times. They offer you to leave your # and they will call you back and you won't lose your place in line. That was several days ago. I tried calling 3 times today and was disconnected. My claim is less than $100. Not a happy customer...
This company is very inconsiderate and full of excuses but take your payments for a service that they can give .
I received a reimbursement check that was dated 8 days before I got it and went to bank and it could not be cashed I had to call out of work and lose money
They fixed the problem and helped. Really didn't have a lot of problems but a few they was fixed.

I was offered one at the time of purchase for my *** a protection plan and when asked what does it cover they gave me a booklet with cracked screen at the top of the list. Called to file a claim when my screen cracked and they denied the claim. Offered to refund only the money spent on protection plan. Went to the store they said call ***. Called *** they said call ***. Feeling scammed.
We apologize for any misunderstanding regarding our warranty coverage. Squaretrade offers a variety of warranties which include differences in the type of coverage and the length of the policy. Which policies are available depend on when the consumer purchased their item, where, and the product category. In this instance the consumer's policy includes Standard Protection, which covers against hardware and electrical failures due to normal use. Unfortunately, this product has been physically damaged and would require an Accidental Protection plan to be covered. Though we understand the consumer has a brochure advertising accidental damage for cellphones this is not a guarantee of the warranty purchased. This information is available via the warranty contract. If the consumer's email address is available via the warranty purchase transaction a copy of this contract is automatically provided, if not it can be requested at anytime via email or hard copy. We also allow consumers access to their warranty details via *** and the ***, both of which detail the coverage type.Being that this item has damage which exceeds to the coverage of this warranty we would be unable to approve any claims for this device. Our specialists have previously offered the consumer a cancellation and refund of their policy, otherwise we would be unable to provide assistance.
Complaint: ***I am rejecting this response because:Squaretrade did not make it clear in writing the terms and conditions of the warranty at the time I made the purchase. Their representative selling me the warranty being the *** associate at the point of sale when asked what the warranty covered provided a booklet listing items that were covered. Also in the business response they state that I did not purchase the plan that includes coverage for damage what they fail to understand is *** only offers one plan and educated customers these items are covered. Since I thought I was covered for damage I did not purchase additional coverage from *** to cover a cracked screen. Squaretrade needs to have its representatives provide clear terms and conditions at the time of purchase or at least have a booklet stating clearly that the coverage does not apply to wearables. They failed to do so and in my case was misleading. Refunding the plan does not come close to replacing the watch and if I had not been mislead by their representative I could have purchased the right coverage from ***. Sincerely
We again apologize for any misunderstanding regarding our warranty coverage.Information regarding the warranty coverage type is available at the time and place of the warranty purchase, usually by requesting information from a store employee. A brochure which includes a general outline of Squaretrade's service is not a guarantee of a specific warranty type purchase. Additionally, if the warranty offered in store does not include the desired coverage type or length the consumer can directly contact Squaretrade for assistance. This is why Squaretrade automatically provides a copy of our warranty contract, and why we allow 24/7 access to our customer service center.Being that this item has damage not covered by the Squaretrade policy we are unable to assist.
I purchase the warranty for a tablet for repairs if the product fails to perform and squaretrade sent the product worst off than it was when sent to them for repairs. They changed the operating system also on the tablet. I wanted to send it back after speaking to someone from squaretrade and they said basically I had to fix it myself. The warranty is up in a couple of months and they destroyed the tablet. and refuse to fix it as of November 2018.

Squaretrade uses certified technicians to repair items sent in for service, and following every repair our technicians will run a full hardware diagnostic on the product to ensure there are no additional failures. This prevents the large majority of issues as experienced in this instance. Additionally, Squaretrade has numerous policies in place to address any items serviced by us which are still experiencing hardware or electrical failures.

Squaretrade sent the tablet back with different software on it and when we wanted to send it back in November because of this issue and the battery they would not let us.
When Squaretrade was notified of the issues with the consumer's tablet we approved an additional claim as recently as 12/3/18. We currently waiting for the consumer to send in their item, at that time our technicians will proceed with an additional repair attempt. If the item cannot be repaired Squaretrade will remain in contact with the consumer to notify them of an alternative resolution.
Don't waste your money as they wont honor their warranty. Purchased a *** 55" 4K tv from *** for $849.00 plus tax plus an additional $59.99 from Square trade to extend my warranty to 5 years *** warranty runs out after 2 years and I start having problems with screen. Square Trade is contacted for claim and basically tell me my item is not covered and the I must have abused this item all from a picture. They do offer to reimburse my $59.99 and my question is if you are going to reimburse the money due to my abuse why would you reimburse me anything at all if it is my problem----Basically they don't or wont honor their warranty and will refund $59.99 instead of paying the $849 TV Claim. Cant believe *** is involved with a unethical company.

Awful experience with squaretrade. Purchased a $2500 OLED TV that suffered major image bleeding. Claim was denied stating it was "burn in." After referencing the definition of burn in and multiple images of burn in I asked to speak with a supervisor. My TV had nothing that resembled burn in at all. After examining pictures the supervisor agreed that this wasn't burn in but still a panel malfunction. After I expressed to him that I agreed, he still refused to cover. I explained and referenced my documentation directly that panel malfunction with the exception of burn in are 100% covered. He then hung up on me. Please don't waste your money, you'll feel safe but you aren't.
From day 1 I have been having problems with squaretrade trying to get them to repair or replace my ***. 1st they said that my receipt didn't show where I purchased the ***, which it said *** clearly at the bottom. I purchased the *** and the squaretrade warranty at samsclub.com online at the same time. Not to mention square trade knew the exact date and where I purchased the *** before they even asked me for the receipt. They finally agreed to fix the *** after I spent some time on the phone demanding to speak to a supervisor. I shipped the *** to them and they emailed me saying that the *** had liquid damage which I know isn't possible unless it was from uncontrollable condensation and said that they would not repair the *** and it was being shipped back to me. They shipped it before I could even speak to someone about this. They also offered me my money back for the warranty purchase which I do not want. Why would they give me my money back for a warranty that's about to expire? It's like they are selling a warranty and if you need to use it they just want to give your money back and not fix the problem. I have my receipt and their email which I can provide.
We apologize for any inconvenience experienced with this claim.Squaretrade requires a proof of purchase for all of our warranties, whether it be provided by the seller of our warranty of the consumer themselves. Typically we require this proof of purchase to clearly indicate the item price, date of purchase and location of purchase. In this instance Squaretrade provided an exception regarding the item receipt and approved for the consumer's item to be serviced via our mail in center.Unfortunately, upon receipt of the item there were signs of severe liquid damage to the unit. This type of damage is not covered beneath our standard plan, due to this the item was returned unrepaired to the consumer. While we understand the consumer would prefer to have the item serviced this cannot be provided due to the current damage of the device. We have attached an image of the internal liquid damage for reference. Due to this we have refunded the full purchasing price of the warranty.
Squaretrade uses certified technicians for our mail in repairs, all of which are extensively trained to repair electronic devices and to determine if the item issue corresponds with the warranty coverage. This consumer's warranty does not include coverage from any liquid damage, whether it is liquid or oil. Squaretrade offers Basic Protection and Accidental Damage plans, in this instance the product has a Basic Protection plan. This type of plan covers issues resulting from normal use, such as the item not powering on or functioning properly. It does not cover any physical damage or liquid damage.Being that this item has internal liquid damage we are not able to provide any service. We apologize for any inconvenience.
Complaint: ***I am rejecting this response because: It is not liquid damage. It is oil from the fan motor. There is no way that this is my fault. Square trade is trying to refund my warranty purchase 3 years after I purchased it. This isn't the way a warranty works.

I purchased an extended warranty insurance plan upon a new phone purchase. It was a two year contract. My phone was having issues and had damage from wear and tear. It was also in a case. When phone stopped operating with any functionality, I called and had a long conversation to to get issue resolved. It was supposed to be a quick and easy replacement of device. It was neither. I not only paid the entire contract price but my deductible as well. And still to this day eight months later or so no new device and no refund. I can’t afford an attorney and purchased a new used device not if the same quality of my previous but close. It is a joke to me they have a decent rating with you guys. I have only heard heard horror stories in the last 8 months or so. Prior to that the opposite. Thank yiu
We apologize for any misunderstanding regarding the status of this claim. In May of this year Squaretrade informed the consumer that his claim was approved for a manually sourced replacement. With this resolution we would attempt to source a replacement device and have it sent via overnight shipping. This resolution does require the consumer to disable Find My *** on the device in order to be processed. This is to ensure Squaretrade is able to fully utilize the original device after we have provided the replacement and this requirement is in place for all claims with this resolution . Squaretrade notified the consumer on numerous occasions that once this is disabled we would ship the replacement via overnight shipping. However, the consumer directly informed us multiple times that he would not proceed with this requirement. Due to this Squaretrade cannot proceed with the claim and we apologize for any inconvenience. We also understand the consumer was dissatisfied with the deductible on the policy, but this information is provided upon purchase of our warranties. Squaretrade offers all consumers a full refund within the first 30 days of purchase of a directly sold policy to ensure consumers are satisfied with their purchase.
Squaretrade emailed this consumer multiple times explaining how to proceed to the next steps in the process, and our call center is open 24/7 to assist with any questions or concerns regarding claims. Specialists have also informed the consumer that disabling Find My *** can be completed via any device by accessing ***. When the consumer notified us that this was not a desired resolution our specialists did offer an alternative resolution, but this was also denied.
Though we understand the consumer would prefer a reimbursement for the device this can only be provided in instances wherein repair or replacement is unavailable, and we have determined a replacement is available for this device.
Being that we have offered a replacement resolution Squaretrade has met our obligations beneath this warranty. Additionally one of our specialists has reached out to the consumer to confirm if a cancellation of the claim and a deductible refund is desired. We can also cancel the warranty and provide a full refund if desired.

It is an incorrect statement they make. They did not have access to a device and would not budge on doing one thing besides a repair which I was a day drive away from as well multiple other reasons due to my job. The fact is they did not provide the type of service they claim they do. They are not worth a star In my book. They wanted to argue over wording. When I get my new device I will gladly go review them. Sincerely

Great customer service. Easy and Fast. When our kitchen appliance stopped working after 2 years, I called Square Trade customer care. With in couple of days, they were able to issue a check.
