AT&T customer service is HORRIBLE, and their business practices are deceptive They make you wrestle with a computer to get to a live person Then the wait times are longer than they estimate On top of that you're FORCED TO LISTEN TO AT&T ADS the entire time, not knowing when or if they'll ever pick up the call Similar to other experiences dealing with AT&T customer service, I was forced to hang up and call back How is it possible for a telephone company to have such awful customer service? It's been this way for years I have to conclude this is done on purpose
AT&T arbitrarily increased my bill without telling me This is not the first time Is this part of a deceptive business practice? How many others did they do this to who didn't have min to and hour to call and resolve it? Not to mention the frustration of dealing with their awful customer service
The explanation I received is that they canceled the 6GB Wireless plan I was on and so automatically moved me to the more expensive GB plan without telling me The new plan was $more per month When customer service informed me they told me this was a good deal for me! Except that they never told me, and after asking several questions I was able to discern that I'm only using < GB per month currently Why would they move me to a more expensive GB plan without telling me when I'm using < GB per month?!
How is it even possible for Revdex.com+ to give them an A+ rating when 734/reviews are negative?! What a racket!
I've still not received any sort of apology for this AT&T is terrible Terrible And Revdex.com doesn't help consumers by propping them up with fake ratings

It's a crying shame star is the lowest this can go I wouldn't even color the tip of one star to describe AT&T! This is by far the absolutely worst company I have ever dealt with! Signed up for fiber many months ago and still being charged for my land lines, DSL, & a separate bill for the fiber almost 1000$/mo We are a small business of but they don't give a rip Been lied to countless times and the company does NOT back up their word and obviously does a poor job at training their people That 1000$/mo doesn't include cell phone service either We live a small city and they know we are stuck at their mercy if we want internet at our location They have cut our business phone lines off twice already stating that they will issue a credit but it takes days? Calling and talking to a robot is pathetic and trying to tell the dumb robot everything so when I finally get an agent on the phone to have to repeat everything I just told the robot is beyond bad business Then to my luck I get someone over seas that can't speak clear English So the call usually ends up getting transferred and them I am told let me get you to someone that better assist you I still have an unresolved account and just get passed from one person to another And I love DIRECTVbut guess who owns them nowTheir customer service is almost ruined due to the nature of the way AT&T chooses to do business Wish some competition would come to town so I can ditch them for good!

The absolute worst company I have ever had to deal withWe had both business landlines and home internet service with them and I have absolutely nothing good to say about this company at allRegarding my home internet service, they came out and dropped an internet line to the house and ran it up the middle of my drivewayThey did such a horrible job that my driveway was impassable!! When we first went to AT&T business landlines, the porting of the lines was messed up so badly that our business was without phones for daysThen, after years as a customer, they cut off our business phones after not receiving our payment, which showed cleared at the bankNo heads up or anything, just cut off our business phonesAny fool could have seen that we never made a late payment before and according to them it was only a few weeks late! When they finally (after almost a year) got the other numbers taken off the bill, they began to bill me for land line when I had been told that it would be I had to make the dreaded call again, knowing they were going to screw it up againThe lady changed it to and told me not to pay the bill, since they now owed us moneyShe said it would be reflected properly on the next billdays after the bill that they told me not to pay was due, they disconnected the fax/credit card lineI called and the first mn I spoke to told me they had not disconnected the line but that I had to pay the bill now or they would disconnect it and it would take days to get it turned back onShe repeatedly told me the fax line was not disconnectedI got irritated and hung upI called back and got someone else who told me that they had indeed disconnected the line but could not tell me why they would have disconnected it in such a short amount of timeShe also told me she couldn't fathom why the first mn told me they had not disconnected it and that under no circumstances does it take days to turn back onI can't wait until next month when the bill comesI know it will not be correct and I know I will have to call them back and waste more company time dealing with these mnIn the meantime I am looking for another landline providerOnce that is said and done, I am sure it will take another months for them to stop billing me
This is the most incompetent company I have ever dealt withIt's fine to make mistakes occasionally, but these people NEVER get it right and I am convinced that they DO NOT CARE!
Their sales tactics are also exceedingly shady!!!

I got the order, and several days later they were able to install it I still can't figure out how to change the password on the modem I got my bill and it had $install fee that I didn't expect I clicked chat, and the guy on chat asked for a number to call (Another "tech" company that can't chat?)Someone calls me, pulls up the account, agrees with me and says he has to bring on a specialist to issue the credit I get transferred and the next person was told nothing The last guy had me close all my ATT windows, so I didn't have my account number up After a couple tries to find it she says, oh, this is a business account, so I'll have to transfer you She transferred me to a recording asking if I wanted service or billing help I pressed bill and was welcomed to a message saying they are closed Really? Slow internet Transfer service to begin with, can't get the password to reset, spend my Saturday morning chatting and transferring only to get a message that they are closed For all my trouble I have slow service, the long stupid default password, just paid $I wasn't expecting, still haven't seen the gift card they promised, and their office is closed Why didn't the first guy just say the business office is closed?

I was proactive in closing the account properly and I paid the bill every monthI was in good standing with other open long standing ATT accountsI never heard anything else until a Debt collector sent me a noticeI did not know anything was wrong - ATT never gave me a chance to fix the issue and unknown to me the debt collectors continue to lower my credit score due to not returning equipmentI still have this equipment, but the damage is done to me and it is now keeping me from getting the security clearance I need for a job
