I have closed my account but they still did the auto-pay and collected the balance that I no longer owe since I cancelled services

On March 16th we took out a landline service with ATT after moving to a new house I am originally from England and as my mother was seriously ill, I felt I should have an affordable international service I set the account up with the representative to be the international and local plan (local free, international cents per minute) My first bill was over $ After many calls (which due to holding etcusually take in excess of an hour), I spoke to an agent who agreed they had set up the service wrongly and my bill should have been $(to high but acceptable) I said I would pay this amount, which I did and he said the bill would be corrected and my next bill would be $ I checked after a week that my account was corrected No correction was done I phoned again and was told that it was in the mainframe computer and changes were only done weekly! They are promote with wrong information for internet speed(They committed M bps, but, M bps only), and couldn't setup the internet service, even though I already disconnected previous internet serviceI am suffering make any compensation of loss of the resultI made several time to talk with internet provider, now I re-install the service at my own cost, AT&T didn't payback for my cost of unnecessary product purchase on time, wrong marketing and keep calling to avoid or admit their fault

I have been a satisfied customer with AT&T since until now I went to an At&T store in September of to possible buy phones I spoke to an AT&T salesman and he convinced me that I can save money on my bill and to also switch my TV services to Direct TV I was told my phone bill we be lowered and I will also save money on my tv services much lower than the carrier I was on I took the bait and switched my plan to unlimited plus and switched my TV and accepted a two year contract with Direct tv I understood as long as I have unlimited plus I will save money with Direct TV, I was also told I could buy an iphone and get one free I was not told that I would need to open another line to receive the free phone, I currently had lines with At &T and would not have agreed to opening another line and had I known I would have kept my old phone The sales man later admitted he made a mistake but it was too late I was charged with an installment plan on both phones My bill is now $300,a month much more than I was promised it should be I did not agree to this arrangement but feel stuck and committed to it because of the Direct TV, and now installment agreements that must be paid before you can switch phone carriers I spoke to AT&T customer service and supervisors concerning this issue The saleman also owned up to his mistake and spoke to AT&T and At&T refused to let me have the phone for free I am stuck with a installment plan that I did not know or agree to I was also lied to many times from AT&T's customer service, but by one supervisor in particular that said he will wipe off the phone and get it off my bill My next bill showed a new line coming on and off, the supervisor told me that was what needed to happen, to get the installment plan removedThe installment plan was still on the bill There were other customer service representatives that kep lpromising me that I will be able to get the phone free and that the instalment plan would come off the bill Still nothing After upteen phone calls and going through the same conversation with mnay customer representatives, I am now tired I'm tired of At&T's broken promises, and I'm tired of being what they call a loyal customer There have been no apologies only from the salesman who made the mistake I'm stuck with a higher bill, contracts with TV service's that I really don't like as much as cable I feel like I'm the one who is paying for their mistake They refuse to help meAfter my installment plan and Direct TV contracts are done I will be switching and I will never return to AT&T again, this is how they treat their "loyal customers"Beware of At&T's promises to lower your bills and save you many, I am paying more than ever before

We were approached by a sale person from AT&T at home and agreed to purchase their internet promotion We scheduled an appointment on 09/25/for the technician to come out and install the modem and get the system running; however, no one showed up We called the customer service line and was promised that on 10/12/2017, someone would come and install; yet again, no one showed up the second time On 10/14/2017, we received an email stated services were cancelled; however, when we called the customer service and was promised that someone would come out on 10/23/ Someone did actually came on 10/23/2017, but the installation was not done, and the technician said he will come back the next day; however, he was a no show the next day, and no contact were made to us

When moving to another state and attempting to cancel my AT&T internet service, it took several different calls to reach a representative who did not try and sell me something and would just simply cancel my serviceI spent more than an hour trying to cancel my accountApparently there is no way to cancel one's account online, which seems very bizarre in Other large (and small) companies have this optionIn addition, when I finally received my last monthly statement, indicating a credit of $38.33, I had to call into customer service and spend over minutes on the phone processing this requestWhen I asked why they just did not include a refund check in the mail with my last monthly statement, the representative replied nonsensically that they need to make sure the amounts match up with what they send meThis makes no senseI honestly feel that AT&T should be penalized for trying to keep customers credited money and making it extremeley difficult to cancel accountsI would never use AT&T unless forced due to it's monopolistic practices in particular geographies

This has gone on for months! No service, damage to my home, lying and deception by the att store, reps, att lawyers, att so called fake insurance carrier, unlawfully withdrawing money from my bank account under FDIC regulations with no billing and almost all of the withdrawn returned in the form of a creditStealing cash from a bank account after two months of disconnect and then provide one with a credit with no active accountsYep, this is just a portion of how att operatesThey require names and ID numbers for accountability of reps in which some refuse to provide that informationatt lawyers are responsible for training reps and their job description available is horrendous, pointing out deception, lying, promises and any form of action to close the conversation with the customerThis happened through over phone contacts with attThe reps in the att stores are also trained by lawyers for att and have no idea of what charges relate to on a monthly bill covering, internet, home phone, tv and cell phoneIn total I'm out thousands of dollars due to the actions of this company and there is no way to contact them without an active account, or you have to send certified mail

I tried to take advantage of AT&T's "Buy One - Gift One" policy last December So I bought one phone (upgraded a line) and I was supposed to get another one for "free" However, AT&T sent me three phones (one was by accident), so I returned one I had billing charges for three additional lines I called to clear this up; however, they were sarcastically nice, saying they would take care of it, but their ploy was to delay clearing up their mistake and kept on charging me They finally said I returned the wrong phone and could not take advantage of the "Buy One - Gift One" offer and would not offer counter measuresThis company is dishonest at best, has no integrity and is toxicDo not give them your business and hard earned moneyTypical bait and switch scheme

The following review is my opinion of ATT, based on my more than years as an unvalued customer of theirs:
Att has done away with any and all incentives to stay with them, jacked their prices way up and added ridiculous feesTheir service is poor and they customer service is disgustingThey lie and make empty promises all day long, and their advertisements are misleading and they ultimately take advantage of their customersATT used to be a decent company, now their greed has just taken over completely!

I upgraded one of my lines ending in *** and returned the iPhone X using the label provided by AT&TI returned the device on September AT&T is charging me $for the lost in transit device, which has been delivered somewhere in PAAT&T made me file over claims and they still deny it todayThey said it's not my fault but they still deny the claims and won't give me the creditHow is it my fault if I did my part and used their label to return the phone? They made me wait 3+ months and still not resolvedThe excuses are "file a claim," "lost in transit," and "you need to wait until they can locate the device." They have the tracking number but they still won't credit meI have been with AT&T since with lines on my account, but they don't careI pay over $500+ a month for my bill but they don't careThey just want to keep postponing my credit for $It is not my fault the shipping carrier lost itIt is not my fault it cannot be locatedI provided tracking but they will not credit me because they think they phone will show up on my door step

My father has dementia and lives in Oklahoma City where he recently moved from his home of years to a facility that has assisted living and memory care My sister called two weeks before moving him and talked to a customer service representative where she was told that there was already an existing line and they would have to give a cut off notice (days) We confirmed with the facility that no line existed People pass away all the time in these places, so it is common to cancel phone services She called a series of times over the next week We were told that he could keep his number and that the service would be active on 6/25/by pm by a *** *** He lied I then took over and called yesterday where I talked to different people *** *** assured me that it would be taken care of yesterday on 6/26/ She lied She said it was so simple that they different even have to go out to the facility They could transfer the number from the home dispatch off

In December they charged me twice and it took me minutes to get them to recognize their error
In January, I got an email that said my payment for January was past due I called because I have auto debit The clerk I talked to told me to make the payment manually on the internet for $which I did She assured me it would not be charged again Guess what, on 1/23, I was charged $through auto debit After another minutes on the phone, I still can't get them to recognize their error!!!
I am tired of wasting my time because of ATT's incompetence!!!
