The technician from ACE Home Services arrived on time and was neatly dressed He explained what he was going to do (check our heating system) and went about his business After spending about minutes checking the system he informed us that everything was working properly and he left us a copy of the work order He never tried to sell us something that we didn't need We were very pleased with the experience and would recommend ACE Home Services to our friends and relatives

I prepaid for a preventative maintenance visit I scheduled one and got a call late in the time frame that they were supposed to be at my house and was told they needed to reschedule and the excuse was really bogus I got a call a while later and rescheduled and they gave me the same lie and the same story as to why they couldn't service the unit when I already paid for it They only want to make more money and so they already got my money and they aren't in a hurry to actually do the work I already paid for They are liars and despicable business people They've inconvenienced me twice now and think my time is less important than theirs

An Ace Home tech came to check a non-working A/C unit & called to tell us that there was a leak in the lines & all 8lbs of Freon in the unit would need to be replacedHe told us he needed to "test the lines" which would cost $& that it would also cost approximately $to replace the Freon & depending on how many problems he found with the test it would cost more to fix the A/C He told us that it would probably be a minimum of $to complete the job & that he couldn't be sure there weren't other issues so he recommended that we replace the unitWhen we asked how much that would cost, he quoted us $& when we told him that didn't sound right (since we've replaced A/C units in other homes & this house is only sf) he said that was accurate but said he would call his supervisor & call us back When he called back he said his supervisor told him to ask us how much we wanted to pay - when we told him it should be $5000, he said that’s "no

I started calling May and have been calling many times...they did send technicians to the house, but the problem has not been found for past four days It took so long...I'm very frustrated as this is a rental property and the issue is air conditioner in Arizona summer I called again this morning and was hangup...so frustrated

ACE Home Services has knowledgeable plumbing & A/C technicians The lead technician came to assess what work I needed to have completed, which included replacing filters in an R/O system, replacing a water softener system, and replacing angle stops on my sinks and toilets The technician assistant returned in a timely manner (within a couple of days) to complete the work I am very satisfied with the work that ACE did on this job order, as well as the other work they have already done for me in the past

A representative arrived for regular HVAC check and service Found that both of my HVAC systems were fine and cleaned outside coils Before leaving he informed me that
one of them is not designed to heat as a hear pump and only heats with electric heat strips.,
the other one is old but runs good
Here is a direct quote from the service form:
"When arriving I verified paperwork and cycled both systems to heat I got decent temperature split and began checking through the heaters One system is a heat pump and the newer system is heat strips Heat strips working fine I then checked heat pump and even though it's older it's running as Good as it can."
A week later the outside fan on the second system stops working and it behaves strangely I call another company and schedule a visit That representative find:
that the first heat pump needs a new safety switch, replaces it, and has it set to work (both while heating or while cooling) as a heat pump, instead of using its emergency heat strips
replaces a bad condenser (reading with rating 18.6) on the second unit
You would be better off using a company that can tell a heat pump when one sees one (and that is capable of detecting a bad condenser)

On the hottest day of 2014, my year-old Carrier A/C system failedI called ACEminutes later Tim arrived and quickly diagnosed the problem to a blown start-run capacitor for the condenser, which he replaced in a few minutesHe said the fan motor is getting old and drawing excessive current and would probably not last much longerBeing a mechanical engineer, I knew what he was saying was honestThat impressed meHis professional demeanor caused me to invite him to tell me about a new Carrier heating-cooling systemI was impressed with his presentationHe gave me his cardI said I would call him when the time was right
Two years later, again on the hottest day of 2016, with the fan making sounds of ‘help’, the capacitor blew againI grabbed Tim’s card and called himHe immediately answered saying “Tim of Ace Home Services”That really impressed meI told Tim that the time was right and I wanted to purchase a new Carrier systemHe arrived within an hourHaving done my research, I chose a more efficient SEER Carrier systemThe system was scheduled to be installed a couple days later on Saturday, July 2, during the holiday weekend
The installation crew (Justin & Trey) arrived on time at AM in an attractive ACE van with trailerThey worked diligently for hours with no stop for lunch (very impressive)They were respectful and answered all of my questionsBy PM the cool was flowing from the new unitThey gave me a tutorial using the new digital, programmable thermostatI asked them to test the gas furnace to make sure it was also working properlyThe heat worked well
In the coming days I fell in love with the new systemThe much larger and stylish condenser unit outside is super quiet in comparison to the old oneThe electronic controlled Xramping blower motor in the attic is wonderfulInstead of the old whine when the fan turned on, I hear a slow transition from zero to full speedIts almost unnoticeableThe digital programmable thermostat keeps the temp perfectly controlled within a half degree at all timesIts a great improvement over the old several degree temp cycle swing of too warm-too coolMost of all, I love the energy efficiency of the SEER systemBeing an SRP Time-of-Use customer, I monitor my energy consumption by the hourThe new system is saving about 15% in energy cost during the hot summer months over my old SEER system, just like Tim said it would
In conclusion, the quality of installation, system performance, quietness, temperature control are all excellentI have become an ACE believer
