Ok so They charged me extra money to my account without me knowing and that "free" start up 30 min thing they actually charged me $40 without me even knowing this is really ridiculous and this is the blink in Hicksville, NY at the Broadway mall and when I called I didn't get ANY type of help basically all I got was a your not getting your money back AND I WANT MY DAMN MONEY BACK FROM BLINK

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

[There is no such negligence or behavior that represents a threat to neither the members or the staff, if the manager wants to cover herself by using an excuse like this, they should have proof and at this point they haven't present anything or being responsive to my calls or my emails. These is the kind of business that frustrates individuals in the community, because they have a decision making person who is not prepare for the role. At this point I need them to remove any comments they have made on my account in a way that if ever think I want to assist another facility I should not have a mark on my record and in addition re-fund all my money. ]

Hello,
Thank you for reaching out to us. We looked into this matter and have no record of cancellation on file for this member. Cancellations are processed by either visiting the club, filling out a cancellation form at the front desk or by submitting a certified letter to the Blink member...

services department. Cancellations are not processed over the phone with club staff. We practice this methodology as it provides a receipt of cancellation for the member in the event something isn't processed properly. We do require a 45 day notice with a pro-rate to be collected from the date the cancellation form is signed or from the date the mail is postmarked. If you are still within your 1 year obligation and decide to cancel before your obligation date, a $60 buy out fee is associated. Blink memberships are not based on usage which means we do not set memberships to cancel if they are not utilized for any period of time. The cancellation terms are listed on the contract that every member is required to sign upon joining.

each month. The $16.92 is a correct bill for the member's first month of membership dues, as the facility opened in September. Instead of being billed a full $20.90 for September dues, the member was only charged $16.92 for the days the in September the facility was opened for. Per the terms of the member's signed Agreement, Blink billing is performed via Electronic Funds Transfer Authorization.

Consistent trend for other member to try and interfere with other people's work out. When you report the behavior you get told the same thing " I just want to make sure everyone has space. Using a machine or stretching should not give other members the right to physically stand in your way or so close to you that you can no longer continue because they are physically blocking you on purpose. I reported these behaviors several times and the inadequate response is dangerous as I've also recorded member behavior that is deliberately targeting others to interfere. In ever single case these are individuals that do not take their gym time seriously and will spend more time talking on the phone, talking with friends, and staring at others before they inch closer and closer trying to prevent others from working out.

The facility was nice, so when I went to cancel I was very disappointed in their scam-like scheme to overcharge. Not only did they continue to charge me despite requesting go cancel by email, they now informed me (by email) the only way to cancel is by "certified letter". Really unfortunate to communicate directly with their support team, only to be told they couldn't help me. Do not do business here.

Hello,

We've followed up with the Area Manager Jerell. He informed us that he did speak with the member regarding multiple complaints. The first complaint dates back over 1 year ago. Since so much time has passed and employees have changed in said facility we are unable to correct the matter. However, the complaint of other members hoarding machines, using profanity, etc can be immediately addressed. We have addressed this issue with our staff and managers to ensure they are prepared to speak with any members acting inappropriately. We want all our members to feel comfortable and welcome in Blink facilities. We encourage you and other members to report any behavior that makes you feel uncomfortable immediately to the front desk staff/manager on duty.

Thank you again for bringing this to our attention so that we may improve.

Kindly,

Hello,
We've looked into this member's account and see he did sign a contract for a Blue membership. Memberships are created digitally via online. When signing up online, the details of the membership you're selecting are shown. The site states for both Blue...

and Green memberships that they are for a 12 month period and that there will be an annual fee charged (The annual fee date varies based on when a member joins). The contract that is digitally signed by the member states that there is a $60 buy out fee associated if the member cancels before their 1 year obligation.
We do not cancel memberships immediately after a member decides to stop payment. They must submit for cancellation.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

Again you cannot advertise $0 annual fees and charge an "annual maintenance fee". That is like saying $0 to join but there's a $40 initiation fee. The public is protected from these hidden charges by the FCC. The FCC has been reported of this and you will deal with them as well as the Revdex.com. I really have no problem paying the $40 a year I just wish business wouldn't try to sneak these charges in, its not right for the other business who advertise fairly. Shame on Blink.
Their motto should be "Dont Blink or you'll miss our hidden fees!"

Hello,
We have investigated the concern and have downgraded this member as a customer service gesture. She has only utilized the Boerum hill location to date and we trust her intention was to not sign up for a 1 year agreement. $60 has been refunded back to the member's cc used. We...

sincerely apologize for her experience and wish her safe travels in July.

The business has responded.  Please see below:
[redacted] has been downgraded, per her request back to a Gray membership for $15 per month. She has been refunded $5.00 for difference...

between Blue and Gray membership that she paid for November. [redacted] is requesting to not be refunded for the month of November. Her membership was active and available for use during the month of November and she used of facility during the month of November. We see no reason to issue this credit for the month of November.

Hello,

Thank you for reaching out to us. We looked into this matter and see only one account for said member. The account was cancelled on 7/**/15 due to final notice collections. A $62.70 balance accrued as we were unable to collect payment for 4/**/15, 5/**/15, and 6/**/15....

We found no other charges in our system paid with the credit card on file given to us by the member. We encourage the member to reach out to us [redacted], providing us with a record of the alleged additional charges. Additional information may be required at that time. If we have over charged the member we will be happy to address accordingly. As stated previously, a past due balance is owed as well and must be settled to have an account status of CLOSED.

Hello,

Thank you for your email. I looked into this inquiry and do see that the member did pay a cancellation prorate. We have gone ahead and set the membership to cancel for 4/2*/16 as agreed upon by the member and staff. A refund of $37.11 has also been processed as the...

member was over charged. Finally, we waived the 3/**/16 payment of $15.68. The account is current and set to cancel effective 4/**/16. No further charges will ensue.
