Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (2000, 7, 2015/09/14) */
(The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)
The company did refund my money, but their response was not accurateThey failed to address the fact that I tried to cancel my "subscription" twice, and received no response from customer serviceAlso, when attempting to use their site to cancel, the proper link is brokennot allowing customers to cancelThere was an error message that said, "oops, something just happened." So, while I may have missed the part where I signed up for automatic billing, LiveCareer's poor customer service and website cancellation options made it impossible to cancel without Revdex.com's interventionI would've continued to be billed $a monthI disagree with the response that says it's obvious that there is automatic billingmany companies do the same thing that LiveCareer doesthey allow free access for several weeks, and many people sign up so they can access their resume, and then when a few weeks elapses, they forget that the free period expiredSo, in my opinionit was a decent resolution to the problem, but the business is still unethicalNotice there is no apology for the lack of customer service
Complaint: ***I am rejecting this response because:
I don’t believe that you appreciate my feedback. If you did, you would change your deceptive business practices immediately
You state that your monthly service fees are nonrefundable. I would be willing to accept that if I had actually used your service. But I have not. You can access my account and see that I never logged in after I created my initial resume. You DO have the ability to provide additional refunds for a service that I haven’t used. However, you are choosing not to.
My next course of action will be to contact an attorney and other consumers who have been robbed by your service to start a class action lawsuit. If Ticketmaster has to compensate customers who have paid too much in service fees, I’m sure we have a case.
Sincerely,
*** ***

While it may be the case that the information was located somewhere on the page, I obviously did not see the part about the automatic subscriptionI feel that this type of practice is entrapment and a good business would not trap clients into subscriptions they do not wantI am very unhappy that your company chooses to conduct business in this mannerAlthough it may be legally allowable, ethically it is a shady business practiceI do not feel that there is a middle ground hereJust know that you have lost a customer and if I am ever asked about this business, You will nor receive a good recommendation form me

I firmly hope that this company will give more than lip service to their attempt to resolve my complaintWords are cheapAction is proof of integrityIt would have been more satisfactory to have received a full refund for a service that I did not use or have any intention of using but I see that the company is unwilling to go that farMy mistakeLet the buyer beware!
