This is the copy of email they sent to me
They congratulated me on joining but say they have no recordThat's confusingAgain I think they are making people invest time and forcing them to pay money after the fact

Thank you again for the opportunity to resolve this complaint from *** ***We have reviewed our files using the email address *** provided in his response, and our records show that *** used our Resume Builder services on July 10,
After asking each user for their name and email address, the Resume Builder gives them the option of uploading an existing resume and/or choosing a resume template to use in creating a new resumeAfter proceeding through these first two steps, the user comes to a page saying "Congratulations! You now have access to all of our free services." On this page, the offer clearly and conspicuously states that one of the free services offered is the ability to "Download the .txt version of your resume." *** chose to click continue at the bottom of this page and begin creating a resumeAccordingly, upon completing his resume, *** was given the option to either download the .txt version of the resume, or upgrade for instant access to all offered features
Although our premium features are not offered free of charge, LiveCareer was willing to make an exception for *** and provide him a PDF copy of his completed resume as a courtesyThe completed resume was sent to the email addresses he provided on July 22,
We trust this addresses any concerns you may have
Final Consumer Response /* (4200, 11, 2014/08/04) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
They have addressed my complaint against their company but they have not shown how they intend to not have this happen to othersThey misrepresent them self and what they offer and again at the last min once you have invested time and energy to only have what they originally tell you will be yoursWhen I spoke to their online representative he had a long auto response at the ready with seconds showing me this is a common issueI want to know how they intent to stop misrepresenting them selves

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 9, 2015/11/17) */
Customer was unaware of auto renewing service, customer was billed for total amount of months, we provided full months of refundSubscription cancelled, no further charges
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 11, 2015/11/20) */
(The
consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
As stated in the company's response, I was unaware of the fact that it was an auto renewing serviceThe $charge for me to build a resume ended up costing over $The company, through their business model, is intentionally and deliberately taking advantage of people and that is unethicalThey are banking on the fact that consumers do not pay careful attention and using that to basically steal from themI do not accept their responseThe resume I built on their site is not worth that amountTheir offer to refund months of charges is not the moral and correct thing to do; it's structured into their business modelTo maintain a high Revdex.com rating, this pittance should not be viewed as the company doing what is rightI will agree to a full refund less monthThe month of charges that the company may keep is my penalty for not being a more enlightened consumer
Final Business Response /* (4000, 14, 2015/12/02) */
Thank you again for the opportunity to resolve this complaint from *** ***
As previously mentioned, our monthly charges are not refundableHowever, we value our customers here at LiveCareer and want to do all that we can to resolve any issues they may haveAs such, in addition to the monthly charges of $refunded on October 27, 2015, our customer service team has provided *** with an additional refunds in the amount of $As of November 25, 2015, *** has received a refund of charges, for a total refund amount of $
We trust this resolves this issue
Final Consumer Response /* (4200, 16, 2015/12/07) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
While I do appreciate that the company has refunded of the charges (total of $159.20), I am not satisfiedThe company should not be taking advantage of consumers which is exactly what it does by charging a $teaser rate and then posting charges to my credit card with no monthly communication stating that the charges are billedThat is sneaky and unethicalAs stated previously, I will agree to a full refund less month; the month of charges that the company may keep is my penalty for not being a more enlightened consumer

When you google resume builder they are the first to come up and on the first page it says "We're so confident that you'll love Resume Builder that you can try it for FREE!
" However, after spending several hours building a resume, in order to print, save, or email it you must sign up for their serviceHardly freeSo not wanting to have wasted all that time, I signed up for the trial for ~$There is no way when you sign up to opt out of automatic billing and if you go to cancel your service you lose any progress time you spent
Figure since I already spent the money I would build another resumeA week later remember to get on and cancel at the week mark and I had already been billedI canceled it and contacted customer service about itThey said they had canceled it for me but the charges were valid and if there was anything else they could help me withI told them they had been no help since I had already canceledI was going to copy the conversation which popped up in a separate browser window to show that there was a clear script as this is obviously part of their business model but without asking or telling me the window was closed on my computer on their endPretty obvious they don't want anyone to see what dreadful customer service they give
It's a scam that preys on people looking for work, offers no real value, and terrible customer service

Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 7, 2015/07/27) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
Payments were drafted by LiveCareer for $per month since February of on my VISA credit card ending in 2583, totaling $
I hope this additional information will help the company to locate their recordsThe nature of my complaint once again is that the LiveCareer representative guaranteed refund for only two months ($79.60) rather than the full amount of $paid since February for no services renderedThe reason the representative gave for only providing partial refund was that the LiveCareer "system" limited him from putting any more back onto my credit cardI am hoping that somebody higher up in the company will be able get beyond the limitation of their computer system and be able to put a full refund i.e., the additional $onto my credit card

Final Consumer Response /* (4200, 19, 2015/10/09) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I do not accept the latest proposed resolution by Live Career because I was mislead by them saying, "Our customer service team refunded *** the amount of $as of August 3, 2015." in response to me asking them to refund an additional $to their initial refund of $
Quotes of this interaction are reproduced below, (as documentted in Complaint Activity Report Case #XXXXXX), to show how the company's response was misleading
July 27, I wrote:

While it may be the case that the information was located somewhere on the page, I obviously did not see the part about the automatic subscriptionI feel that this type of practice is entrapment and a good business would not trap clients into subscriptions they do not wantI am very unhappy that your company chooses to conduct business in this mannerAlthough it may be legally allowable, ethically it is a shady business practiceI do not feel that there is a middle ground hereJust know that you have lost a customer and if I am ever asked about this business, You will nor receive a good recommendation form me
