I deleted my account on their website a couple months back. But, a month later I get a charge on my card. I tried contacting costumer service but nobody answered. Tried their "7 days a week Live Chat" same thing, no answer. I figured I must've cancelled my account late so I let it go. The next month I get another charge. Tried to contact the company, same thing, no answer. I emailed them using their website but I never heard from them. Then, I get charged again!!! 3 months without even access to the website but yet I'm still getting charged. Finally I was able to talk to someone. I asked her why I was being charged and she said that my account was deleted but never cancelled. She checked their service data and my information was not even on there. Ah! but they still had my credit card info. I asked her what services were offered after you delete the account. She said NONE. Then, why do you charge!!!? Why have a delete account link if it doesn't end your subscription?

Thank you for the opportunity to resolve this complaint from [redacted]. We have reviewed our files and our records show that [redacted] signed up for our Resume Builder services on April 13, 2015. The copy online clearly provided [redacted]...

with a choice of full access for 14 days at a discounted rate, which automatically renews to monthly access for a monthly fee, or an annual subscription that is pro-rated at a lower rate per month but which is paid upfront for access to the services all year long. [redacted] chose to accept our offer for 14 day full access, which automatically renews monthly. On the page where [redacted] made that selection, immediately adjacent to the choice of subscriptions, the offer clearly and conspicuously states that the 14 day premium access ''automatically renews at $39.80 per month on the 15th day''. In addition, on the purchase confirmation page it is also clearly disclosed that this subscription will ''begin immediately and renew on April 28, 2015 to our monthly service at $39.80 per month.'' This page also provides information on how [redacted] could cancel before this monthly charge. Finally, [redacted] was also sent an email to the email address provided to us on the same day confirming [redacted]'s access to our services and reiterating one more time that ''Your subscription begins immediately and renews automatically on April 28, 2015 to our recurring monthly service at $39.80 per month.'' Accordingly, on April 28, 2015 [redacted]'s card was charged $39.80 for the applicable month of service.
Although our monthly charges are not refundable, LiveCareer was willing to make an exception for [redacted] and provide him a prorated refund of $29.85. Our customer service team refunded [redacted] the amount of $29.85 as of April 30, 2015. Our customer service team additionally refunded the amount of $9.95 on May 5, 2015.
We trust this addresses any concerns you may have.

(The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)
I do accept the response as long as no forwarded fees charged. This is funny because they are making their living off making it impossible for you to cancel. They make it sound simple but as I stated, I tried to cancel many times. If you guys did not make it impossible to cancel in the 14 days, you would not have over 400 complaints. Lesson learned.

Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 7, 2014/04/07) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
The Terms and Conditions are ambiguous and confusing by design. The liveCareer web site openly displays the excessively long T & C - please review. There is a total of forty (40) sections and the monthly/year billing practices are deeply buried into section thirty five (35). That section never clearly states (up front) on how you will be billed - it legally gives LiveCareer the authority to bill you in several different ways. Once payment is made then its made clear on how you will be billed. It's made clear after you commit via personal credit card.
I challenge anyone to read, understand and interpret the T & C contract. Once again it ambigus and confusing by design.
My complaint is not about a refund its based on a deceptive practice of billing that's not clear and upfront to the consumer.

They state that the refund was made on July 2nd, however the refund has not reflected as of today, July 8th. They sent an email stating that they issued the refund, however no account information was verified as to where the refund was issued.
Furthermore their website is setup so as to not enable you to cancel the service nor to submit complaints through their site. They need to either fix their website so that you can cancel service online, or conspicuously state that in order to ensure cancellation you must call a customer service representative to cancel service.

April 2, 2015.
After asking each user for their name and email address, the Resume Builder gives them the option of uploading an existing resume and/or choosing a resume template to use in creating a new resume. After proceeding through these first two steps, the user comes to a page saying "Congratulations! You now have access to all of our free services." On this page, the offer clearly and conspicuously states that one of the free services offered is the ability to "Download the .txt version of your resume." [redacted] chose to click continue at the bottom of this page and begin creating a resume. Accordingly, upon completing her resume, [redacted] was given the option to either download the .txt version of the resume, or upgrade for instant access to all premium features.
Although our premium features are not offered free of charge, LiveCareer was willing to make an exception for [redacted] and provide her with a week of complimentary access to our premium features. She was sent an email by our customer service team advising her of this.

Which month are they refunding me for? March? If they agree to refund me for March they should agree and refund me for April and May as well. You are a witness. In my earlier complaint I said I tried to contact them on April 12,& 14. If they charged me on March 13,2015. I contacted them on April 12,2015 one day before the next charge to cancel the service. They 'NEVER' replied back and I Waited. So I Contacted them again on April 14,2015 and Again 'Never' received a reply. I have the email inquiry to prove I contacted them. They never contacted me back and that is the type of sloppy service I said they provide. Now I just want a refund for April & May. If they agreed to already refund me for March?

Thank you again for the opportunity to resolve this complaint from [redacted].
As previously mentioned, our monthly charges are not refundable. However, we value our customers here at LiveCareer and want to do all that we can to resolve any issues they may have. Mr. [redacted] mentions a charge in May, however our customer service team has not been able to locate a charge to his card for May and as such we cannot provide a refund.

Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 7, 2015/08/08) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
First of all, anyone who reads reviews on this company, Googles this company or looks at their Facebook posts can see that people getting ripped off is a regular event for Live Career. They have fooled many people with this including us until I, instead of my wife, opened the monthly credit card statement expecting to see a $42.30 charge. I saw Live Career had a charge on there and called them right away. For them to State in their response to this matter that the confirmation I received clearly stated I would be switching to from a free account to a subscription of any kind after 14 days is absolutely false and I dug up the document which I will provide the Revdex.com if you wish. In fact here is an exert-
"Account Management
If for any reason you do not want to take advantage of your free LiveCareer membership, you may delete this account."
This confirmation is the one and only correspondence I received from them. The key word is FREE. I already had a new job and by formality had to provide a one time free resume not a $477.60 a year scam preying on people not paying attention. I now have taken the time to save the original email and gather the actual moneys we feel were stolen from us. In this response section I do not see a way to attach the original confirmation email but will gladly send it in its entirety to the Revdex.com upon request. I think the $199 credit Live Career gave me is a start. But I am not going to be finished with this until I receive the rest of the money taken on my FREE account. The total taken was 11 payments of $39.80 totaling $437.80. Subtracting the $199 I was recently credited after getting the Revdex.com involved I am still owed $238.80. I expect to receive the $238.80 in credits and at that time I will call it good. It taught me to keep a better eye on things as people are out there looking to be dishonest with you.
Final Business Response /* (4000, 10, 2015/08/26) */
