Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2015/07/21) */
Thank you for the opportunity to resolve this complaint from *** ***. We have reviewed our files and our records show that *** signed up for our Resume Builder services on June 27, 2015. The copy online clearly provided *** with...

a choice of full access for 14 days at a discounted rate, which automatically renews to monthly access for a monthly fee, or an annual subscription that is pro-rated at a lower rate per month but which is paid upfront for access to the services all year long. *** chose to accept our offer for 14 day full access, which automatically renews monthly. On the page where *** made that selection, immediately adjacent to the choice of subscriptions, the offer clearly and conspicuously states that the 14 day premium access ''automatically renews at $39.80 per month on the 15th day''. In addition, on the purchase confirmation page it is also clearly disclosed that this subscription will ''begin immediately and renew on July 12, 2015 to our monthly service at $39.80 per month.'' This page also provides information on how *** could cancel before this monthly charge. Finally, *** was also sent an email to the email address provided to us on the same day confirming ***'s access to our services and reiterating one more time that ''Your subscription begins immediately and renews automatically on July 12, 2015 to our recurring monthly service at $39.80 per month.'' Accordingly, on July 12, 2015 ***'s card was charged $39.80 for the applicable month of service.
Although our monthly charges are not refundable, LiveCareer was willing to make an exception for *** and provide him a refund of 1 monthly charge totaling $39.80. Our customer service team refunded *** the amount of $39.80 as of July 20, 2015.
We trust this addresses any concerns you may have.
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 7, 2015/07/27) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
There is no option to close account after 14 days. It only brings to a screen which only says you can't close and to contact the company. Again, I tried several times with no reply. When they finally answered their online chat bar, they did not want to refund my money. Then blamed me for their errors. Although they did refund me, the service or should I say lack of..shows immorral practice with not contacting customers, not actually allowing customers to close the account without having to go through all their own made loop holes. I definitely would never recommend this company to anyone.

They did refund my money which was the resolution I asked for. But I hope they seriously consider either making their product something worth purchasing, or closing their business.

The response is completely false. I found an email for one of their representatives on a forum where others were complaining about their service and emailed her. Her name is [redacted] B. She found my information and cleared up the problem satisfactorily for the time being. A full month has not passed ** I don't know if the problem is completely solved. For this business to say that they have no records of me is completely false and just reinforces the fact that they are doing shaddey business.

(The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)
I just want it noted that when I spoke with the customer service representative they did NOT tell me they were refunding me the whole two months, they said that they would give me 34.95 and that if I asked to speak with the manager they could not guarantee me a refund at all. I am happy that they refunded all of my money but they are not being truthful about the service call resolution which prompted my complaint in the first place. Thank you for handling this.

Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 8, 2014/05/21) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I do not accept thier response. The company has misled me into filling in the card details to buy a template charging at $1.95. They did not give me any reminder that I am accepting thier recurring monthly charges. I have indicated clearly that I do not want free trial and I do not want to join membership. I just wanted to pay for the template at $1.95. Furthermore, I have received 2 confirmation emails that I am receiving full refund for 4 months of unethical deduction of money. I keep that as an evidence. I strongly ask for full refund as they have promised. I want to point out that they made a mistake in the claim saying that 2 months of refund totaling $39, 2 months should total up to 2 times of that amount. I am waiting online for a satisfactory resolution because Livecarrer is eating thier words and being irresponsible. I have not received refund now.

Thank you. As of now, they have refunded me. However it took a lot to get them to do so and as soon as possible, I will change my debit card, unfortunately cannot until next week. I have heard they will continue to charge, although I expressed beyond any doubt, they are not authorized to do so.

Customer was unaware with the auto renew subscription, customer was charged for 2 months, we refunded one month for the latest billing month. Subscription cancelled, no further charges.
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 10,...

2015/11/20) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
There customer service response is an email tool. I decided pretty much immediately that there was no value and completed the online response to cancel well within the trial period. I did not realize the debit to my account until the second one came through.
I explained this to them and they refuted my claim. I also challenged them to look in the tool and to verify that I had not used it. The employee responded that was true however in his words I had access to it. Prior to my finally getting someone to talk to instead of the e-mail tool, I went online to view the previous complaints on this company, and I went on Revdex.com to see if there were others. What I found was typical of my experience. I find it unfortunate that business is allowed to be conducted in this way. I am also certain that many people simply walk away and take the loss of these debit to their account but I refuse to be one more. They are making money when no service has been used. As to the notion they have met me half way, nonsense. I contacted them the moment I saw the debit which is in advance of service. So again service was not used and I feel they should not only issue me a full refund but get their act together. Had I used the service other than during the trial they would have a point but this is them trying to keep my money as they have so many others.
Respectfully,
[redacted] L.

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
This company is misleading in their tactics. Yes I did sign up for a trial period for $2 my issue with this company is that I was supposed to be able to create a cover letter for FREE. When I attempted to create my cover letter I was re-directed to another page from THEIR website which then asks for your credit card information a second time. The ONLY reason I submitted my credit card information again because I thought maybe it did not go through the first time. That is my complaint because unbeknownst I was at that time enrolled into another trial period that I was unaware of and that is why my card was charged $35.80 it had nothing to do with the original purchase which I was in fact aware of the 14 day period so this company needs to address its sneaky tactics of double charging customers and redirecting them to their "other" website !!!!

I feel that they should be clear and concise with how they do business and should not have a secondary site attached to their main webpage

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2014/06/04) */
Thank you for the opportunity to resolve this complaint from [redacted]. We have reviewed our files and our records show that [redacted] signed up for our Resume Builder services on September 10, 2013. The copy online clearly provided...

[redacted] with a choice of full access for 14 days at a discounted rate, which automatically renews to monthly access for a monthly fee, or an annual subscription that is pro-rated at a lower rate per month but which is paid upfront for access to the services all year long. [redacted] chose to accept our offer for 14 day full access, which automatically renews monthly. On the page where [redacted] made that selection, immediately adjacent to the choice of subscriptions, the offer clearly and conspicuously states that the 14 day premium access ''automatically renews at $34.95 per month on the 15th day''. In addition, on the purchase confirmation page it is also clearly disclosed that this subscription will ''begin immediately and renew on September 25, 2013 to our monthly service at $34.95 per month.'' This page also provides information on how [redacted] could cancel before this monthly charge. Finally, [redacted] was also sent an email to the email address provided to us on the same day confirming [redacted]'s access to our services and reiterating one more time that ''Your subscription begins immediately and renews automatically on September 25, 2013 to our recurring monthly service at $34.95 per month.'' Accordingly, on September 25, 2013 the card which [redacted] provided was charged $34.95 for the applicable month of service.
Although our monthly charges are not refundable, LiveCareer is willing to make an exception for [redacted] and provide him a refund of 4 monthly charges totaling $139.80. Our customer service team refunded [redacted] the amount of $139.80 as of June 3, 2014.
We trust this addresses any concerns you may have.
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 7, 2014/06/19) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
They charged my credit card for
9 months membership without me signing up for this service. They used the $2.50 charge for a minor service to gain access to our credit card to start charging for a service which we did not affirmatively request. Obviously, there is a major deception in the way the company initiates and continues these charges monthly, since hundreds of their customers have an almost identical complaint of deception and fraud. We demand a 9 month refund, and Revdex.com should act on the voluminous
number of nearly identical complaints, which has not caused the company to change its business practices.
Final Business Response /* (4000, 9, 2014/06/26) */
Thank you again for the opportunity to resolve this complaint from [redacted]. We greatly value our customers at LiveCareer. As such, in addition to the four (4) monthly charges of $34.95 refunded to [redacted] as of June 3, 2014, we refunded [redacted] the remaining five (5) monthly charges on June 24, 2014. Our customer service team has refunded [redacted] nine (9) monthly charges totaling $314.55 as of June 24, 2014.
We trust this resolves this any outstanding concerns you may have.

I accept, thank you for refunding what was charged. I still believe you should advertise the "automatic renewal after 14 days" not everyone reads when they are struggling to find a job. Most see only the $1 charge and quickly process the payment. I was not able to see where the company indicated there was an automatic renewal... And if they wish to keep it as an automatic renew, they should not charge it from the bank card that was used in file, what if it would have been someone else's bank card? Couldn't they file a theft claim since they were not the ones to "agree" to the terms? Most of us are going through a difficult time and can't afford to have $40 charged.
