Thank you for the opportunity to resolve this complaint from [redacted]. We have reviewed our files and our records show that [redacted] signed up for our Cover Letter Builder services on June 28, 2014. The copy online clearly provided...
[redacted] with a choice of full access for 14 days at a discounted rate, which automatically renews to monthly access for a monthly fee, or an annual subscription that is pro-rated at a lower rate per month but which is paid upfront for access to the services all year long. [redacted] chose to accept our offer for 14 day full access, which automatically renews monthly. On the page where [redacted] made that selection, immediately adjacent to the choice of subscriptions, the offer clearly and conspicuously states that the 14 day premium access ''automatically renews at $39.80 per month on the 15th day''. In addition, on the purchase confirmation page it is also clearly disclosed that this subscription will ''begin immediately and renew on July 13, 2014 to our monthly service at $39.80 per month.'' This page also provides information on how [redacted] could cancel before this monthly charge. Finally, [redacted] was also sent an email to the email address provided to us on the same day confirming [redacted]'s access to our services and reiterating one more time that ''Your subscription begins immediately and renews automatically on July 13, 2014 to our recurring monthly service at $39.80 per month.'' Accordingly, on July 13, 2014 the card which [redacted] provided was charged $39.80 for the applicable month of service.
Although our monthly charges are not refundable, LiveCareer was willing to make an exception for [redacted] and provide her a refund of 4 monthly charges totaling $159.20. Our customer service team refunded [redacted] the amount of $159.208 on November 6, 2014.
We trust this addresses any concerns you may have.

(The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)
Live Career refunded only one charge of $39.80. While I am not completely satisfied with this company, I would like to move on and never have any interaction or dealings with them going forward. They stole $39.80 from me in my mind and I am not ok with that. I will take the one credit of $39.80 in fear that they will reverse the credit that they applied to my credit card account and I would end up with nothing.
Thank you for your time and support Revdex.com.

Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 7, 2016/03/07) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
They did give me a partial refund. However they did not "clearly" state anything like the claim above. I had to look online to see if other users were having the same problem. They were and claimed that they too, didn't not see anything clearly stating the near $40 automatic renewal charge. The customer service is terrible. I called several times with no answer o emailed the customer service reps twice and never got a formal reply until nearly two weeks later. It just upsets me that this company is getting away with taking money from other people. How is this legal?
Final Business Response /* (4000, 9, 2016/03/21) */

The 14 day trial Is a scam To catch suckers like me. I did not intend To maintain a membership and use their services. They knew that as well as I did!I figured a dollar 99 For a one time use To make a resume Was a good deal.I did not needThe service any longer.Because I forgot to cancel I was penalized $38.90 every month Indefinitely Until I caught it.They will continue to take peoples money in this manner until somebody Steps up and makes them change the policy!Every legitimate business that takes money out of my account At least send me an email thank you for your payment. This alone would serve as a reminder to those of us who forgot to cancel. Also, If they admit they were wrong by returning five of the nine payments They should also return the other forBecause they Can check the records and see That I never use the account except the one time.

Final Consumer Response /* (4200, 14, 2015/12/11) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
A Legitimate business Provides a service for a reasonable fee. This company knows fully well That a percentage of US consumers Will not cancel before the 14 day trial ends.I would love to know what percentage of their income Comes from People who are not using the service.By only refunding me five of the nine payments Taken from my account, They are taking advantage of my mistake of not cancelling before the 1.99 trial ends and they will gladly take advantage of others until changes are made to allow consumers to personally authorize each payment or in the very least, require the business to notify you with a "thank you for your payment." This is out right theft because I only used the service for 1 document for the 1.99 fee . They know many customers will forget to log back on to cancel! If they are knowingly keeping 138 dollars of my money now knowing I never used their service then they should not be allowed access into anyones bank accounts! This is unethical practice and they should be held accountable!

Finally, [redacted] was also sent an email to the email address provided to us on the same day confirming [redacted]'s access to our services and reiterating one more time that ''Your subscription begins immediately and renews automatically on July 12, 2015 to our recurring monthly service at $39.80 per month.'' Accordingly, on July 12, 2015 [redacted]'s card was charged $39.80 for the applicable month of service.
Although our monthly charges are not refundable, LiveCareer was willing to make an exception for [redacted] and provide him a refund of 1 monthly charge totaling $39.80. Our customer service team refunded [redacted] the amount of $39.80 as of July 20, 2015.

There is no option to close account after 14 days. It only brings to a screen which only says you can't close and to contact the company. Again, I tried several times with no reply. When they finally answered their online chat bar, they did not want to refund my money. Then blamed me for their errors. Although they did refund me, the service or should I say lack of..shows immorral practice with not contacting customers, not actually allowing customers to close the account without having to go through all their own made loop holes. I definitely would never recommend this company to anyone.

Thank you for the opportunity to resolve this complaint from [redacted]. We have reviewed our files and our records show that [redacted] signed up for our My Perfect Resume services on April 4, 2014. The copy online clearly provided [redacted]...
with a choice of full access for 14 days at a discounted rate, which automatically renews to monthly access for a monthly fee, or an annual subscription that is pro-rated at a lower rate per month but which is paid upfront for access to the services all year long. [redacted] chose to accept our offer for 14 day full access, which automatically renews monthly. On the page where [redacted] made that selection, immediately adjacent to the choice of subscriptions, the offer clearly and conspicuously states that the 14 day premium access ''automatically renews at $35.80 per month on the 15th day''. In addition, on the purchase confirmation page it is also clearly disclosed that this subscription will ''begin immediately and renew on April 19, 2014 to our monthly service at $35.80 per month.'' This page also provides information on how [redacted] could cancel before this monthly charge. Finally, [redacted] was also sent an email to the email address provided to us on the same day confirming [redacted]'s access to our services and reiterating one more time that ''Your subscription begins immediately and renews automatically on April 19, 2014 to our recurring monthly service at $35.80 per month.'' Accordingly, on April 19, 2014 the card which [redacted] provided was charged $35.80 for the applicable month of service.
Although our monthly charges are not refundable, LiveCareer was willing to make an exception for [redacted] and provide him a refund of 4 monthly charges totaling $143.20. Our customer service team refunded [redacted] the amount of $143.20 as of October 13, 2014.
We trust this addresses any concerns you may have.

Like I said I want every last cent refunded. Keeping $120CAD from someone who doesn't have a steady job supporting two children is very low for a company. Also, with the amount of complaints on the Revdex.com clearly your company needs to change how it lets people know they are about to be charged. This is the only company I have done business with that does not let you know your trial is almost over as well as not sending email every time your account has been charged. It seems that the company relies heavily on the consumer not checking their bank statements. All you receive is ONE email thanking you for the order which many people will not open because they assume it's for the $2.95 and that's it. If you see so many complaints for the same reasons why not change the way you let consumers know about charges to their accounts? Is it not obvious that there is a problem with how your company conducts business? Very shady.

I am confused why so many people are unaware of this monthly charge and why so many people are upset they are not getting a total refund when they find out months later they are being charged with no email notification or billing statement mailed to them.
Very unhappy with this company and will not recommend them. Why are people still being billed after they asked to be removed from the subscription. this company should not be in business.
