When signing up for this account in August, I signed up for a "Free" account So far, I have been charged a fee of $each month for months I have tried to delete my account on-line, with no luck
On 6/**/I signed up for a day trial on this website for $then on 6/**/I receive an email receipt from *** for $ I call Roomster where you get a voicemail that tells you that they only respond to emails I sent them an email on 6/**/and also 6/**/but to this day have never gotten ANY reply I was able to cancel the membership as of 6/**/but have had no luck on getting my $refunded I hate when companies con people like this, if your service is good then people will buy it & wouldn't need to go through this game they have set up No where in plan site does it state that the membership will automatically be renewed if not cancelled Since my membership was cancelled the same day it was started I think I should be issued a refund, it's obvious it was not used
When signing up I was not made fully aware of the billing and collection processI purchased a three day membership for five dollars, fully expecting that I would no longer be subscribed at the end of the duration of the subscription for which I paidOn the fourth day Roomster charged my account forty five dollars, nine times the original price which I had agreed to payThe company did not make it clear to me that I would be paying for a full membership if I did not cancel a three day membershipNor did they send me any e-mail, text, or phone call alerting me that I would be charged nine times the amount which I had paid if I did not go to their website and ask not to be charged after the end of my current subscriptionI feel taken advantage ofI also feel like this business is making gains off of people who are struggling to find homesPeople looking for rooms to rent, such as myself, usually have limited meansIt is ridiculous to think that once a person purchases a three day
This company advertises on the internet giving customers the choice of getting an ad for days, days or a month I specifically ordered the day and paid $and they went and charged me another $ I learned on the internet that this company has a business practice to defraud people by this deceptive advertising
Roomster charged my account for an amount I never agreed to, filed a complaint with PayPal who also noted it was a suspicious charge, Roomster attempted to make it seem like it was my fault and tried to put a stink up with my bank and sent me a message threatening to report the incident to the credit bureau because I had a fraud charge against them and collection agenciesCompletely unprofessional, I have NEVER seen such childish behavior from a company beforeAnd THEY were the ones who fraudently charged me! Thieves, plain and simpleI WANT MY MONEY BACK
Stay away from this horrible company, it's a complete scam
I signed up for a 5-day membership for $Then suddenly days later I was charged an additional $for a day membership--something I did not authorize, nor wantThen, upon contacting Roomster, they essentially said that their purposefully deceitful practices are what they rely on in order to charge customers without getting their explicit consentThere is nothing indicative of additional upcoming charges upon selecting the 5-day membership planMore than likely Roomster relies on charging these customers and hoping they don't notice the charges they never authorizedI am extremely angry, as I thought Roomster was a reputable business, but they definitely rely on deceptive practices to generate revenue
Negative experience--same sort of thing that others have mentioned hereI sign up for a 5-day subscription (which requires you to also say, "yes, you can charge me for the next month when that subscription ends")I forget about that subscription, call the day after I am charged for the month-long subscription, and I am told repeatedly that they only offer refunds if "there have been no Services rendered to the User"
I eventually got a prorated refund--but only after a lot of time wasted going back and forth with a rather frustrating customer service agent on their website (they offer no phone number to call)I had to specify that I wanted the subscription to end immediately and to not use any of their services for the duration of the new subscription (the remaining days in the month-long subscription)It took a while (I count messages between me and the customer service rep), but they at least get stars because I did eventually get a partial refundUnfortunately, they even charge a 15% "handling fee" on all refunds
The company has described their refund policy in press releases and on their website as a "no questions asked" policyThat was not at all the experience I had
I subscribed to them for a short period of time & found a roommate & canceled my subscription & they stilled billed me again?
They NEVER Not Once contacted me back in regards to my emails I sent
Why is this company allowed to do business at all after so many negative reviews! Someone from craigslist told me that she posted pictures of room on this site and I can see the pics only if I create an accountShe stopped replying to my msgs once I created the account, there was no such room! Most of the accounts created on this site are fake and post with different namesOn the top of that they charged me $ for one more month of subscription and did not refund after multiple requestSuch a fraud and scammm site
TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!
I used the services of this website for four hoursAsked for a refund after filing scammedWs totally deniedI paid for an entire weekI used like 3% of the week and couldn't get any refundThe customer service was terribleJust denied my request completelyI responded to rental ads on ***t an they would send me automated texts sending me back to roomsterThey reporting bait ads to redirect you to their websiteIt's ridiculous DO NOT USE!!!
COMPLETE SCAM AND TERRIBLE WEBSITE, they'll automatically sign you up for a monthly fee even though you purchased only days worth of usageSHUT IT DOWN SOMEONE

I signed up for the 3-day $subscriptionI have now been charged $I did not want an entire monthI only wanted the daysI never authorized a payment of $On my account there are receipts for $but not $I tried to contact their 24/customer service multiple times but have yet to get a responseI want a full refund! They are also spamming people! I posted an ad on craigslist and am continuously getting texts from roomster saying people have messaged me just to bring me to their site
I signed up for Roomster service in hopes of obtaining a roommateI paid $for days during which time I created a profile through Facebook and gave out personal information and contactsI sent numerous texts and emails to individuals purporting to have a room to share to no availI could never get to the point of seeing a place or getting a real person on the phoneThe "people" would respond to texts or not respond, but that would be the endAfter the day period, Roomster then charged my account $recurring per month which I never agreed toI don't believe that real people use this service and feel the Roomster obtains a lot of your information and creates an endless circle of contacts that result in no real follow up while it keeps charging the customer
The Roomster app was sent to me immediately after I posted a listing for a roommate on *** The trial offer of $for days was offered to continue viewing the app Apparently if you do not cancel within days Roomster charges you $for a monthly package with no warning I continued to be charged for months with no notice even though they had my email address and could easily send notifications my way I finally found out I was being charged after seeing my credit card statement Every roommate contact that was forwarded to me appeared to be a scam I believe these contacts were scams because as soon as I asked for a rental application to be filled out, I never heard from them again Every contact through Roommster had a far fetched story about wanting to rent the place sight unseen and that they wanted to send money right away to secure the room I do not recommend Roommster.com as a sight to find roommates They prey on those who use *** to make legitimate connections
Roomster offers several different "plans" 1) a $dollar plan which provides a post for roommates for a few days, 2) a more expensive plan that gives you services for a longer period of time and 3) an unlimited plan for When you sithere are large boxes and you must check oneBut, essentially, there is only one plan- a unlimited service because the two shorter plans automatically turn into the unlimited one unless you cancel your plan with themWhen someone is looking for a roommate there is a limited period of time they need services because as soon as they find someone they no longer need to advertise for a roommatethis is the type of service that extinguishes itself No one ever needs an unlimited planFinding a roommate is extremely stressfulThis company hides its true billing policy in fine print I'm angry that I found this all out weeks later (when I got my credit card bill that had dollars in extra fees charged to it when it was obvious in m
These people have individuals advertising to rent a room on Craigslist and when you contact them they direct you to the roomster website as a way to verify you, but when you let the person know, they never replyIn order to exchange messages with people renting rooms you have to paySince the original poster never replies, and you paid to conversate with them, and they wont refund, you have no choice but to look around for other rooms for rent and most of those ads are positioned there for lools and arent real adsYou have to put real info about yourself and they can put fake profiles because if you went on there and it was just people looking for rooms, the scam wpuld be obviousI am certain they create profiles to appear legitYou pay for a day trial as the shortest and you're told when you deactivate your account, you won't be billed for anything elseRight after I paid, I realized the site just wasn't safe and legitimate postings were not being advertisedMinutes after si
Sleasy companyWill sign you up for a Free Trial then roll you over to $a month for a service that is literally the most useless service ever*** for free is the place to goI asked for a refund because they kept charging me monthly....for a roommate service when I just was looking for a place to move inWouldnt refund..horrible company
This is a customer service, billing, refund, & FRAUD issueI authorized the day trial, but when I canceled BEFORE the trial ended, they charged me $anywayI have screenshots to prove it! When I notified them, they made it seem like I was wrongEven told me to “Please read” the termsFirst of all, I can readso pissedLike others, I was looking for a place & had a bad feeling about signing up with FB, but I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt and try them outLesson learnedThey’re a fraudDon’t deal with them
RIP OFF...they charged me 5x in one month! Then said I must have held down the key to be charged double, guess all the people complaining about it did that tooThey are a deceptive and conniving company, that SHOULD NOT BE IN BUSINESSNext step will be to contact a consumer advocate in the news media to follow John S*** around and ask him how he can sleep at night, at to PAY BACK ALL THE PEOPLE HE RIPPED OFF>
