Please do not use this siteIt's a total scamEveryone that contacted me through the service was a scammer, and wanted money up front before even seeing the apartment, or wanted me to communicate via separate email or textingIt's not uncommon for them to post a fake picture with a name that's completely different from the name listed in their email responsesTheir emails are formatted in an awkward manner, and their grasp of American English shows that they are clearly not from here, scamming from another country, I presume. These people/profiles are usually fake and are designed to give the appearance that the site has lots of wonderful rooms for rentIf there were a Zero star rating, I'd honor them with one
On the website at the time of purchase it seemed that I purchased a day trail of using their servicesAt no time was it advertised as "subscription" or did they indicate that after days they will use the credit card information you enter to automatically charge you another per monthI tried contacting them but they do not have a phone number, you need to use their website to interact with their customer supportI found their customer support to be rude when requesting my funds back for the two months charged without my consent at $which they were not willing to do even though I only used it for those weeksI never consented to automatic charges or a subscriptionApparently at time of purchase on the website (despite the website representing the purchase as a one time purchase for a period of time, either days, a week, weeks, or whatever), they will send you an email afterwards saying they will automatically charge your card each month unless you cancelI am not a lawyer but I guess might legally defend their actions however the way that the site actually markets their product at the time of purchase is very deceptiveI find it misleading, unethical and predatory in nature
I came across ads of a similar nature, but I will only address the most recent one I have experience specifically While searching for places to rent on ***, I found what seemed to be a particularly great deal for a room to rent on ***, the kind that seems too good to be true similar to the scams on ***, but this is differentAfter contacting the owner of the advertisement, I shortly after receive a text message asking for me to sign up at a provided link that has been shortened using *** URL shortener, and that soon after we can schedule a time to meet and see the roomIt ends with a "Sorry for the inconvenience."So I followed the link which brings me to the sign up page for RoomsterAfter I finished I replied to the text message, which then returns again asking me to upgrade my account to the member status costing moneyLuckily, during this most recent occurrence of finding one of these ads, I already had a member account, so I replied to each text wi
I signed up for a 30-day trial and used it days and cancelled and requested a refund and was told that I was out of my cancellation periodI amm disputing charges with Paypal because they have charged me $on separate times in
The billing system was unnecessarily complicated to understand, and when it looked like I was charged $three times on the same day I reached out to Customer Support with an email I got an unhelpful response that then threatened to take my charge to a collection agency if I didn't pay for my monthly membership I replied stating that I'm not looking to avoid a payment that I legitimately owe, but that their billing system was confusing Other replies from them were confusing and seemed to be copied and pasted from parts of their policy which did not directly address my question I called their number and got a voice recorded answer which replayed three times and then hung up, not allowing me to leave a message to speak with someone
On April **, 2016, I signed up for the $day trial subscriptionPost that I never authorized for an extended subscription, however, on April **, I was charged $for a full subscription for another days without any prior authorization or notificationI only signed up for a day trial because I had to to be able to read the messages in the inboxThere was no disclosure stating that my account would auto renew for $after the initial days trialI have already contacted their customer support and asked for a refundI have also cancelled my subscriptionI now want someone to contact me about my refund immediately!
I recently was linked from a housing ad to sign up on Roomster, as I was seeking rental accommodations Soon afterward, I received an email indicating a potential opening Then, I was prompted to pay monies in order to see the email Once I paid the money, the email was no longer there Obviously, I was scammed into paying for services Furthermore, the customer service representative was unhelpful and the website was difficult to navigate, not user friendly, and provided inaccurate and outdated information

I signed up for a day trial using Roomster's servicesNowhere in the initial terms did it mention an automatic renewalI was just charged an additional $for an automatically renewed day subscriptionApparently, lots of people have had this issueI've contacted the website and my bank to file a claim for the stolen amount
You sign up for free and set up a profile to find a roommateThen immediately start getting several emails that you have unread emails in your profile inboxTo open them you must pay a membership feeOnce paid, the emails turn out to be nearly all scam/fake interest where people don't have an actual apartment for share and often claim to not even be in the US which seems like it could lead to money fraud as well if anyone winds up actually wiring them money to secure a room share
So I was on Roomster.com I set up looking for a roommate When I was cancel the subscript before March *** It told me system errorSo the next day I see they charge my card

This site has an app that has a "delete account" button inside the app, but it does not deleteIt continues to auto renewYou have to go find the email receipt and go to the bottom and find a link that tells you that you have to cancel your subscription through google playIt says you can cancel anytime and the app has no instructions in it to tell you that your account is not really deletedIts a bait and switchThey also are supposed to charge you once a week, but charge you twice sometimesI am looking to be reimbursed for charges of Billing would not refund me
