I subscribed to a full membership through the Roomster app on my mobile device
The membership I paid was a short trial of five days per $on 07/**/
I read the terms of use and I acknowledged that there was an automatic renewal if I didn't cancel my paid membership before the end of the subscription periodI also made sure to read how to cancel the subscription in the terms of use of the company: "You can cancel your Full Membership subscription at any time by (i) logging in to the Service, (ii) clicking on the “Settings” button located under the “Account” tab found on your member home page, and (iii) clicking on the “Subscription” link and choosing “Cancel my Subscription”
The problem is that according to these instructions which you can find on their website, there should be a button or link to cancel the subscriptionNone of these things are available, and there are no further instructions on their website and support service
So by making this process unfriendly, and
This company Sucks, DO NOT USE THIS APP ROOMSTER THEY TOOK MONEY FROM MY ACCOUNT AFTER I WAS ASSURED MY ACCOUNT I HAD FOR ONE HOUR , I REALIZED I DID NOT WANT THEIR CRUMMY SERVICES BECAUSE PEOPLE I KNOW VERY WELL TOLD ME HOW THEY ALL GOT THEIR MONEY TAKEN FROM THEM ALSO:(
THIS SUCKS AND NOW AFTER CANCELLING A DAY TRIAL THAT I ONLY HAD FOR ONE HOUR THEN CANCELLED HAS NOW CHARGED MY ACCOUNT DAYS LATER OUT OF THE BLUE ??? WHO DOES THAT??
IM PISSED OFF!!
I signed up for the day trial with Roomster at They give you the option to sign up for 1, 3, or daysBut they don't make it obvious you are also signing up for a subscriptionIf I choose to only sign up for days instead of why would I want an additional days after my trial (unannounced)I'm sure there's fine print in the initial sign up that mentions a day subscription, but if i'm not signing up for the days to begin with and I only want why would you assume I want another month
Then I decided to try to contact the company with their 24/button which was impossible, no phone number just messaging through their websiteThey got back to me with a generic message they post to everyone who has the same complaint (you'd think if everyone is complaining about the same thing they would try to fix the problem) Their generic response is that they wouldn't charge a card without my permission, but they also are not refunding me for something I'm not usingI
On July *** I signed up for a day subscription with RoomsterI was under the impression that once those days were up I would no longer be charged for their servicesI never received any email or message notifying me that my subcription had been renewed at the cost of or that my account had been chargedI contacted their customer service department today (July *** 2017) after realizing that I had been chargedThey informed me of their automatic renewal policy which is very vagueI requested a refund as I have not used their services beyond the daysThey denied me a refund stating that all sales are finalI informed them multiple times that I had not used any of their services beyond the days that I agreed to pay forI requested to speak to a supervisor or corporate complaint departmentThey would not disclose any of that information to meI also informed them of the refund policy that is outlined on their website which states that if you cancel your membershi
I recently subscribed to a roommate finding service and have found that the images used seem fraudulent and misleading Photos don't seem to match the account holder The same rentals are being advertised by different people When you send someone request for additional information, no one returns your inquiry I have wanted to speak to someone at the company regarding my concerns but have not found any contact information on their website (***)
When I enrolled on Roomster there where three options to use the full siteThe options were to enroll in a day, I think a week, and a one monthI enrolled on the day membership for a little over $for hoursRoomster then billed me $for a one month membership which is not what I picked There is no phone contact so I emailed their support line and received a generic response that they would not charge me for anything I did not sign up forI am fine with paying for the day membership that I selected but not the one month I also paid $for the three day
I originally paid for a three week trial to see if Roomster could work for meI found that the majority if roommate listings were already filled, or old listings were continually updated as "new"Rarely did Ibeven receive responses from people who supposedly, had a room availableThey advetise Fake RoomsI contacted the company about the problem and they Never got back to meAnd then, this morning, they charged me another $that I Did Not authorizeThe whole experience feels like a ScamI want my money back!
On 12/*/2016, I purchased a day membershipIn 12/*/2016, I was charged for a month service due to auto renewal I informed the company that although they had the prorated money back guarantee, I was entitled to a full refund as the emails sent regarding the policy were sent to an old email address I was unable to accessI initially attempted to file an "unauthorized" dispute claim on 12/*/which ended up being ultimately denied Later that day, I had direct email communication with MrJohn S***, CEO of ***, in which he informed me Roomster would be issuing me a full refundThe email communication shows me asking MrS*** several times when the refund would be processed as the money was never credited to my account bank account or ***My requests by email were ignoredI reactivated my free membership to utilize the "24/support" service to check on the status of my refundI, again, received no responseAt 11:today (12/**/2016), I received an
I contacted to support and said that I thought that day subscription will start tomorrow, but Roomster did not send any reminder about the process of charging for day subscription before day trial endedOther website always remind me about itRoomster did nothingI asked to give me the refund for day subscriptionCustomer responded that I can click cancel membershipEven not mentioning of the refundI cancelled on first day of day of subscriptionI don't need this rest of days to use Roomster websiteNo!
Roomster is making my search for a room share much harder, both on and off the Roomster site
Off Roomster, perhaps 20% of the local listings on Craigslist are a form of Roomster spam Roomster pays "affiliates" to create fake listings Roomster, "wink wink" says this activity is "against our policy" Ha
I've followed up on enough Roomster direct ads to have given up entirely: everything was a dead end or an obvious scam Now I've got this woman "from the Ukraine" trying to get me to send her $$$ and she'll express mail me the keys to an apartment (an apartment, I checked, she does not own and is not vacant)
Roomster is exploiting *** users by sending dozens of text messages to room posters, such as myself posing as individuals interested in the room however they require you sign up and pay for their service to see their profile My inbox is full of this malicious spam
This Website is BSI created an account and paid for it on 5/30/and on 6/4/they charged me tripple of what I paid for on 5/then on 6/5/they delete my account
I was looking for affordable housing and was considering a room for rent because of my income In first week of Septemper I checked out the site and was informed there is a week free trial Before the end of the two week period, I was looking for the link to cancel the subscription There was none I was googling for the email or phone no so I can cancel the service There was a phone no but whenever someone answered the phone the person would not say a word Called a few times with no response The information that I got from the Terms of Service during sign up had an address, of which you have in this site During the supposedly FREE trial period, they charged me $(Aug **, 2016) There was a person I met from this site and I gave him a copy of my background check I did not authorize him to debit money from my card if he wanted to do additional background check There should be a written agreement for debiting money for background checks This company deb
I signed up for a three day trial for full use of the siteIt was advertised as being charged for just about $I figured I would be locked out when it was completeHowever, I was charged about $for a full subscriptionNever did I get an email giving my permission to go through with a full subscription
I got an email saying I was charged so I logged in and tried to cancelI thought it went through and to be totally sure I sent an email hoping to be refunded and cancel my accountI figured that was it and I would be refundedIt even says of you cancel right after being charged you will get your money back
I have been emailing back and forth and they refuse to refund meI am being penalized for not being able to understand their site because they provide such little informationI have requested a phone number to speak with someone (after all, their customer service emails feature a photo of someone in a headset) but they refuse to provide it
All, A company named "Roomster" just charged me a $fee on my credit cardI did nothing other than click on a link on FB to see what it was about, i.e., an alternative to AirbnbI never agreed to anythingWhen I called the phone # listed for them on my cc transaction sheet, the number simply referred me to their websiteThe only way to access that is to go through FBI suspect they are then targeting people on my FB page, and so the cycle of deception continues
They charged my bank account $without my permission
Paid $7.99(USD) for week long trialIt never let me send or receive messages or even the "upgrade features." Contacted them about it and still haven't received a replyThey won't refund my money either
I received an email from roomster on Sunday, February **, regarding a charge for $I checked my paypal account and saw that a charge was authorized for that amountI immediately disputed the charge with paypalI received an email from John S*** with roomster todayIn the email he stated that he would be sending me to a collection agency for $(which doesn't make sense) and that the collection agency is very aggressiveI don't appreciate the threat of collection for an unauthorized chargeI have used them in the past and in the past I paid for the services I authorized which were always for $I have never authorized any other charges
I signed up for a 15-day trial with this businessTheir advertising states a fee of $for a 15-day trialThis week I was charged $by the same business for another daysI never authorized thatI filed a dispute on *** and it must've asked for info from the company directlyIt was determined that this business practice of advertising one rate and nowhere on their registration page stating that they'll charge you for additional months after your trial period is completely OKWell, it's notThey charged me the $on July **, 2016, after which I filed a dispute with ***Because I filed a dispute they then revoked my account so that I couldn't even use itI didn't even want to, as I just got on the site to see if I could contact themBut with days left on the term of the most recent FORCED charge, they revoked the account simply because I complained
As you can see from this website ***
Roomster's business seems to subsist on newcomers to its platformYou will be asked to pay for a free trial period in order to be able to use Roomster's messaging service and when you do finally see "all" the messages you've received in reply to your advertisement for either a roommate or room, you'll find nothing of useyou will find that Roomster has simply forwarded you another Roomster user's advertisementThankfully, I remembered to cancel my trial subscription before I was charged full priceTruly a waste of my time and money using their "services"
