Colliers International Management Reviews (689)

I've been searching for a place to live in a shared housing situation in order to save money and get ahead in lifethis company is being used by a LOT of people on *** (go figure) and seems to be a way of stealing money or personal information I would strongly suggest that the FTC look into shutting this place down because it's never been effective and I see only bad reviews That seems like a big problem!!

Roomster is continuously posting ads for apartments and roommate situations on craigslist and other venues in an attempt to get people to sign up and use their app This is advertising and a deceptive way to try to dry people to buy and use their app
I plan on pursuing legal action action this company as well

I received an email from roomster on Sunday, February **, regarding a charge for $I checked my paypal account and saw that a charge was authorized for that amountI immediately disputed the charge with paypalI received an email from John S*** with roomster todayIn the email he stated that he would be sending me to a collection agency for $(which doesn't make sense) and that the collection agency is very aggressiveI don't appreciate the threat of collection for an unauthorized chargeI have used them in the past and in the past I paid for the services I authorized which were always for $I have never authorized any other charges

In August 2016, I signed up and agreed to pay a one-time $charge to use the website to find a roommate, and then I canceled my account a few days later because I had found a roommate and no longer needed to use the serviceThey continued to charge me $a month for three months, which I did not catch until reviewing my credit card statementsI contacted Roomster to dispute the charges, but they are claiming that their records show that I didn't cancel my account (even though I did), and they are refusing to refund the three $charges that I absolutely did not authorizeWhen I signed up, there was no indication that there would be any $monthly chargesI signed up with the understanding that I was only agreeing to a one-time $chargeThey failed to reflect that I canceled my account just a few days laterThis website is deliberately deceptive and misleading to trick young, broke students like me into paying large monthly feesI believe their actions shoul

I signed up for a small access to *** (no subscription) They have been charging me without my authorization I’ve canceled my account with them online, however they are still charging me I have tried to call the number, but you can only leave a voicemail I have searched their site for other numbers to call with no luck Please stop this company from charging my account I would like them to stop charging my account and refund payment made June and July

Signed up at Roomster.com in late June early July to help find a place to live, and paid the subscription cost, once I found a room I cancelled my subscription in mid JulyAugust I got billed anyway so I called them and cancelled over the phoneWell here it is in September and another withdrawal shows upSo I have put a Block on there account and am planning on calling them AGAIN!

I was genuinely looking for a roommateI had to move quickly so I only subscribed for one week because I couldn't see any messages unless I subscribedI noticed the messages all said they were out of town but would send the keys when I paidThat was a huge RED FLAG! The said "scam"! So, I said no thanksThen I noticed they debited my card for $without my authorizationThen they say when you sign up they charge you if you don't unsubscribeThat is fine print I didn't seeI am going to file a complaint with the California Dept of Consumer AffairsI encourage everyone to do the sameAt some point one of our state's will fife a suit against them so they won't able to scam anyone elseI need all of my money, as my situation is tightEven if the case were different, it's the principle of the thingIt is fraudulentI sent several messages, called and send an email but no one responded

Roomster Corp is a shady business that pays people to respond to Roommate ads on services like Craigslist to try and persuade you to sign up for their servicesSo someone will respond to a roommate ad and give you a link to go to which goes to Roomster and they will state they prefer to communicate through that service onlyThe only way to sign up is to connect with Facebook and at that point Roomster has all your personal information and friends list from FacebookIf you respond to the response stating no thanks they try to get you to go there by telling you it's FREE! Nothing is free when you give away your personal information to them
It's a very shady practice to pay people to get customers the wrong wayI hope that this company goes out of business due to this nature and that people stay away from them due to these illegal practices

Signed up for a free day trial that I didn't want to continue as I learned that the ads were fake, the profiles were fake, and the messages coming to my inbox came from these fake profilesRoomster charged me to "renew my subscription" that I never authorizedI've disputed the charge to no availTheir customer service number does not respondI can't reach anyone in the company

Terrible experience with RoomsterThe app was useless, first of all, the only response I got was a scam that wanted me to pay immediately without signing a leaseMy real issue though is their billing model and terrible customer serviceI signed up for a 1-week trial, and after it expired, they immediately renewed me for a month, at their highest price pointI reached out to support, first requesting that they refund me entirely since that was a mistake and it was hard to read the fine print where they stated they'd auto-renewThen I asked to at least have them reduce the renewal to what I originally signed up forTheir response from the Service team was rough "...go *** ***..."Anyway, super shady company, I'd advise staying far away (esp b/c their app pretty ineffective anyway)

Hello, I signed up for roomster and paid $for a day trialHowever, the site is filled with scamsters and I'm worried I might have already compromised my email by responding thinking these were legitimate adsI received emails from scamsters on the same dayI've cancelled my account and deleted it within hoursHowever, I want my money backI cancelled within hoursYou should ban scamster or have some way of filtering out scamsSomeone frmo overseas, international travelers or students etcare particularly vulnerable to such people

*** is using *** to post ads for rooms as if an individual is posting the ad If you reply to the room ad, a response asking you to sign up for a paid website is generated Ads should specify that this is a link to a roommate referral system It is deceptive to post an ad as if an individual posted the ad with the intent to solicit business for a paid website

I used this website just to find someone to rent out my roomI signed up for the day trial under the impression that they would email again asking if I would want to continue my subscription, I received no communication besides that my account had been charged for the day trialI feel like this was luring a customer by using the trial and then charging them an outrageous price for a rooming serviceI requested a refund multiple times and every time I had asked to speak to someone the customer service representative just ignored my demandWould never recommend this service to anyone

I signed up for like a week subscriptionThen they ended up charging me for a monthly subscription which was not very visible on their sign up pageI filed a complaint with *** and they suspended my accountI did not win with *** so I needed to make sure my subscription is cancelled but I can't do that with a suspended accountThey won't answer their phone

*** charged me for a month subscription after signing up for the one week trial for $It was not clear that they would automatically charge me after that weekNot only that, When you sign up you start receving all these messages about potential rooms for rent but really they are spam accounts that get deleted within a few hoursI got up to 15+ emails a day from fake accounts saying they have a room for saleNow that is just a deceptive business practiceMaking people feel like there are ample places available on their site when in all actuality maybe 10% of the listings are real people who will actually respond to you information requestsI had potential places come from that site while looking for an apartmentI feel taken advantage of just like all of the other people who have wrote the Revdex.com about RoomsterI wants my back and I'd prefer if they made it clear how they charged you and also managed their site enough to get rid of all of the spam usersIt wou

Absolute scam! I paid for a week, noticed glitches in the app to include a faulty rent range selector and messages that were deleted by roomster, only for roomster to ignore these issuesAfter days of use, Roomster deleted my account with bogus claims of hate speech/promoting an agenda/complaints by roomstersThis is completely falseAll I did was to introduce myself to prospective roommates and messaged about rentals within commuting distance of my workRoomster took my money, didn’t honor the full week of service I paid for, and deleted my account because I had the audacity to contacts Roomster customer service regarding app glitches amd their horrible service!

HorribleThis makes me realize I need to me WAY more distrusting of internet sitesNot only were all the listings scams, but ROOMSTER themselves are scammersThey make you pay a small fee for a 5-day trialWhich I quickly saw that the site was full of scams and never logged back inOnly months later to log into my PayPal and see they've been charging me $per month for some on-going subscription I never consciously signed up forNow I went ot heir site to try and stop it and it runs slow and is giving no confirmation that my subscription has been canceledWOWZERO STARS

I signed up for a $day trial to *** and provided my Credit card (MC) information I have then been charged various charges at the beginning of every month since I provided my credit card in March for the 15-day trial ($20.37) and have since received the following charges:
-3/**/- $
-4/*/- $
-5/*/- $
-6/*/- $
I disabled my account in April and the charges continued I cancelled my account in May and the charges continued I have contact *** *** and they only provide support for active accounts (which I had to disable because of the continuous charges) I no longer have an account and am still receiving charges to my credit card!

Total scam You click on how long you want to use roomster with the price listed and they automatically set up a $monthly subscription for you Very shady company and take notice that reviews are disabled on their *** Page That says enough right there

I only became aware of roomster after I posted an ad on craigslist looking for a roommate Within minutes I started receiving multiple texts/emails like this one: Hi, I’m AnnaI saw your add & interested alsoU should take a look at my profile that one I posted here: ***  contact me
The link, of course, takes you to roomster's website but you won't see a profile That's because to actually see someone's profile you need to have a paid subscription
I've never met John SS***, the founder and CEO of roomster But I can tell you this: I wouldn't trust him as far as I can my house
