I had been on this site trying to find a roommate for only hours In those hours I had to flag prospective roommates because with of them, different people were trying to rent me the exact same room In another case, the roommate said he was not living in his apartment and living in England and I had to send him the first months rent and security deposit before he would send me the keys without entering the apartment first to look it over "Coincidently" both of these apartments were miles away from each other I smelled the scam and reported it to Roomster.com where I had paid $for one month hours later, I found a need to flag yet another prospective roommate because he had the exact same language in his long reply email that the man from England had I did not flag this guy yet because I know Roomster would not do anything about it I demanded my money back because I don't trust the site anymore Roomster just sent me generic form emails stating that if

I recently was linked from a housing ad to sign up on Roomster, as I was seeking rental accommodations Soon afterward, I received an email indicating a potential opening Then, I was prompted to pay monies in order to see the email Once I paid the money, the email was no longer there Obviously, I was scammed into paying for services Furthermore, the customer service representative was unhelpful and the website was difficult to navigate, not user friendly, and provided inaccurate and outdated information

I signed up for Roomster service in hopes of obtaining a roommateI paid $for days during which time I created a profile through Facebook and gave out personal information and contactsI sent numerous texts and emails to individuals purporting to have a room to share to no availI could never get to the point of seeing a place or getting a real person on the phoneThe "people" would respond to texts or not respond, but that would be the endAfter the day period, Roomster then charged my account $recurring per month which I never agreed toI don't believe that real people use this service and feel the Roomster obtains a lot of your information and creates an endless circle of contacts that result in no real follow up while it keeps charging the customer

This website has maybe REAL person for every fake listings/straight up scammersSad that such a useful site is rendered completely useless by their lack of care in verifying their listings as legitimateTheir customer support is also useless, they just send random pre-made responses until they land on one close to your issue, their support speaks very little broken to NO english if you call them and cannot understand an even slightly complicated questionThe fact they create fake listings and send you fake messages to get you to pay to view said fake messages is blatantly illegalThe fact they still exist is an offense

I purchased a 15-day subscription from the company which ends today, 6/*/I have cancelled the subscription but have been billed for a renewal of $I have days to cancel the subscription and have done so today - the 15th dayWhy am I already being billed for a renewal? Their website has a list of FAQ's but getting through to the actual company is impossible

Roomster has trial membership which will lead to automatic subscription at the end of those days I went to go cancel it the day it expired and they charged me at noon I told them that I tried to cancel it at that time and they went ahead with it There is no way to contact them Any link to their "contact us" or any information gets re-routed back to the home page You can only "chat" with them through messages They refused to cooperate
They are also creating bots on their website that are spamming Craigslist 95% of the "people" looking for roommates or people to rent rooms are 100% fake They are creating listings on craigslist, and the contact information goes to a roomster link, and then they ask you to pay to use it

I agreed to a 3-day subscription for Roomster I was charged accordingly and was satifiedI later noticed that I was also chances with unauthorized 30$ chargesI am needing to know why and I am also needing a refundThese were not charges that I agreed to and definetly needs to be fixedI attempted to call the phone number provided in which they referred hereI can not continue to pay this fee as I have not signed up to pay thisI went in to cancel me subscription and it informed me that the subscription has already been canceled so again why am I being charged?

I made an account to find a roommate and they instantly start saying all these people are messaging me and of course you have to buy a subscription to view the messagesI buy a subscriptions and there are no messages from anyonea scam that im sure is illegalstars DO NOT USE

I recently subscribed to a roommate finding service and have found that the images used seem fraudulent and misleading Photos don't seem to match the account holder The same rentals are being advertised by different people When you send someone request for additional information, no one returns your inquiry I have wanted to speak to someone at the company regarding my concerns but have not found any contact information on their website (***)

The app has an auto subscription that takes 7.99+ tax weekly I found a roommate and deleted the app after one week When I logged on the app next week to look at roommates for my wife I had a message, the app wouldn't not allow me to see the message unless I " upgraded account"So I just looked, but didn't choose to upgrade account again I saw I had been billed 7.99+ tax that weekthen looked at the app again to see if I had missed something, but when I had been billed for the 3rd time I got upset and all they told me was " deleting account is not the same as cancelling subscription" Who would delete their account and not cancel subscription?!

I cancelled my Roomster subscription in JanuaryI was billed yesterday (April *, 2017)I was billed for a month that I did not have an active accountOnce you cancel, they aren't supposed to bill you againThis is in their agreementWhen I sent them a message, they didn't respondThey don't have a customer service line to call to ask questions
This business to me is suspectThey don't have a clear way to resolve issues, and they certainly have plenty of complaints (see the others on this website)I would recommend that people don't use this service in the future
