Thank you for the opportunity to review this consumer’s situation. Please be advised that Ms. [redacted]’s dishwasher is over two years old and out of warranty. GE spoke with Ms. [redacted]s on April 26, 2017 and as a gesture of goodwill offered her a discount on a repair. GE advised her that she...

would be responsible for the home trip/diagnosis fee and GE would cover 100% of parts and 50% of labor. At the time she declined the offer. I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.A GE representative contacted me today and left a voicemail stating roughly what was written in their previous Revdex.com response plus that I should increase the temperature of my water heater from default setting of 120F to a higher temperature to get a higher temperature of water, which is categorically unacceptable and rejected. Basically, GE knew the washer did not produce HOT water YET they still manufactured, marketed, distributed, and sold the washer to their dealers as a washer that produces HOT water based on the word [HOT] printed on the washer dashboard with no other signs, words, manuals attached to the washer at the location of sale stating anything about the washer being unable to produce HOT water. Not until the consumer actually purchases and has the washer delivered and tested is when he/she would discover that this washer is unable to produce HOT water. GE refuses to take back the washer and provide a full refund, yet they continue to deceive the consumer that this washer produces HOT water.  The federal, state, and dictionary definition of HOT water is 120F. This washer barely produces 80F water temperature.As of this time, this issue has not been resolved. A refund and ceasing to market the washer as producing HOT water has not been offered nor fulfilled.

 [redacted] with GE made contact with me by phone.  The attempt to repair the washer on Sat., 6/10, was not possible as the parts GE repairman ordered was incomplete.  More parts ordered and another appointment is scheduled for Friday.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution to be satisfactory ONLY because the machine is fixed.  Every part of the process was a huge amount of time - even up to waiting 10 plus days for GE to pick up their used parts for disposal.  The machine was repaired, they did mail a check and extend my warranty but I have to say I had a very bad experience and probably will not buy their product again, because of their customer service.

I have spoken briefly with Mr. [redacted].  Mr. [redacted] was not interested in speaking with me at that time.  He advised I needed to study our product warranty.  The relevant part of the product warranty...

statement states that all warranty service work will be provided by our Factory Service Centers or by our authorized Cers during normal working hours. We did not reach a point in the conversation where I could ascertain which specific publication number he was supplied in the event this standard statement was somehow omitted.

The repair referenced occurred on Wednesday.  The dryer completed 4 to 5 loads between Thursday and Friday.  Yesterday (Saturday) the malfunction began happening again.  As it has since December 30th, the dryer is again shutting off after two minutes of operation and cannot be powered on for a few minutes after that.  The dryer shut off 20 times yesterday.  At this point the dryer must be replaced as we have been without a dryer for almost 8 weeks and it is only 5 months old.  Despite all GE's customer service "advocates" blatant fraudulent statements to the contrary, we do have implied consumer warranties under [redacted] law that go beyond the shoddy GE repair-only express warranty, and after 7 failures to repair, we demand an immediate replacement.
