If you are flexible and have no restrictions Bluegreen will wok out for youIf you only have limited or restricted time when you can travel, don't bother with this
We have found that if you can travel whenever you like and make plans ahead of time, Bluegreen offers a lot of travel optionsMy wife is retired and I work from my home officeThat means my home office can be anywhere, and we've taken the opportunity to mix work and pleasure at Bluegreen resorts
If you can arrange your time away to be from Sunday to Friday, you can take advantage of the lower rates during the weekIf you absolutely have to use weekend time, you'll be very dissatisfied, as the weekend rates are much higher than the weekday rates
If you play by the Bluegreen rules, you shouldn't have a problemIf you can only travel on short notice and on weekends, don't waste your money
After a very bad experience with this company timeshare and the deceptive sales persons who told us lies to convince us to buy a timesharefor years now we are not able to find a suitable time and place to use our points because they are always booked ahead of time even if we try or months ahead of time, they have too many timeshare customers that you can find any resort and we tried to use our points anywaywe were able to get a perfect vacation for the money we pay for the maintenance fee each yeari tried to suspend my membership and not using my points and to pay the very very expensive maintenance fee, they said it will be sent to collectionthis company is a totally fraudwhen you try to sell your share, this company has the worst reputation that you can not find a buyer
I recently went through the sales pitch at Blue Green ResortsI wouldn't sign until I knew more about the companyLooking at Revdex.com for reviews and concerns is a great place to startAfter reading all of these reviews and also seeing over customer complaintsThere is no way I would purchase from this companyThey tried the sales pitch on me and even from their Manager, buy today to get the "special package"I'm so glad I did look into them further before purchasingI also thank everyone from reporting their concernsAfter reading these comments and feedback, you have made my decision easy
On August 5, my husband and I were approached by a sales person while we shopped at Bass Pro Shops in *** *** *** *** *** *** Rancho Cucamonga, CA XXXXX)They offered us a vacation package for days, nights with $basspro gift card and cruise certificate for $We purchased the package and paid $up front on 8/5/We also signed an acceptance form that had verbiage which said that if we don't end up taking the vacation, we would only forfeit what we paid ($199)A few months later, we scheduled our vacation for May 6th for nights After that was scheduled, we had to change it and we were able to, to March 6th-10th (we received confirmation via a mailed letter which we cannot presently find)We were told when we changed it to March 6th-10th that our hotel would be Tropicana in Las Vegas and that there will be a $10.20/night charge that we would have to pay out of pocket- to which we agreedHowever, after we made this change, and befor
In May my husband and I visited Bass Pro Shop and was approached by a Bluegreen travel representativeWe agreed to visit Big Cedar in Branson MO for a minute sales pitch and $cash; upon completing the sales pitch meeting we would earn $in gift cardsOur family arrived at Big Cedar in July and attended our sales meetingOur two daughters were left in a small room while we attended our meeting, our minute meeting turned into hours of back and fourthWe were wore down and felt like we wouldn't be able to leave until we purchased somethingFinally we agreed on XXXXX biannual pointsAn hour after that, now hours after our initial meeting, no breakfast or lunch, our girls still waiting for us to return we were finally on our wayWe weren't allowed to see our children or contact them while we were negotiatingMy youngest, age thought we left her and my year old was upset that we had plans that we never got to follow thru withWe missed our reservations for our boat rental (out $deposit), our family was hungry and exhaustedOur vacation was no longer a vacation but something we were ready to escape fromOur girls were sad and felt like the entire trip was lost due to us "sitting in a meeting for hours"OH! lets not forget the $in gift cards we were to receive for attending the sales presentation, Yep! We werent going to get them if we didnt purchase, and you cannot not purchase and think about your options because the price will go up tomorrow and you will lose additional benefits if you dont purchase RIGHT NOW!
Fast forward a few weeks, we're back home and we finally received our welcome packet from BluegreenOH WAIT! our "return" window had expiredImagine that!!
During our sales pitch, we were told we could use the points we were purchasing for everything we'd need to vacation, cars, flights, food, hotels and we could even stay at RCI locationsWe were told that nightly stays for a bedroom runs about points per night, We determined this is a LIE! We cannot book anything less than points per night for our family, and there is a night minimumWhich means we only get nights every other year for $15,plus yearly maintenance fees and dues Such a rip offPer customer service, the only way to enjoy more is to buy more and more Bluegreen sells you on making things personal, spending time with family and those you loveThey do not take NO for an answer and they LIE and LIE some more to get your moneyI cannot say enough negative things about our experience and the way we were treated by the staff at BluegreenTo hold a parent or child hostage, smh! Shame on you Bluegreen!!
The "vacation" was not worth the hassle and you have to sell your sole to leaveDONT DO IT!
This is the worst company ever they're Liars and true scam artist they lied to you in the beginning they talk really fast but *** and then when you need help there's no one there to help you and ever tell you that you can't use just the basic point that they give you a new beginning and how hard it is to really take a vacation with this mess I was one of the ones to get something I can't seem to get rid of this Money Pit The Never Ending money cake I'm not working right now and I can't afford to pay for this stuff I like to know how to get rid of it I would never suggest this company to anyone or for anyone to ever ever and I didn't ever do business with this company worst company ever money greedy very greedy people may God's punishment rain down on this company
Buying into Bluegreen Vacation was one of the worst decisions I have ever made! All the lies they tell you in the short amount of time is discussingThey are literally stealing peoples hard earned money and it is very sad I was told that we would be able to use our point whenever we needed and when I tried to actually use my points that I had saved for years I was unable to use themI am absolutely ashamed that I believed such nonsense, its embarrassing
Being a Choice Hotels customer I was contacted by BG with an offer to view their resort locations to see if this was anything we were interested inI thought for $for two nights it was not bad as we were closeChecking in we were told that we were staying at a hotel near the resortOK, we went to the hotel (star at best) and were told we needed to pay for the resort fee and taxesFound out that this stipulation was in the very fine printWe were told we should have been offered an upgrade to stay at the resort, which we were never offered thisEnded up paying it anywayWent the next day to go over the informationWas told there was no pressure, we were pressured to buy something (anything) that dayThey need to present ALL costs up front, we felt cheated and very pressuredI would not recommend this company unless to have plenty of money and free time to give away
My wife and I purchased a Bluegreen timeshare in with 10,points every other year (which actually comes out to 5,every yearmore on this in a moment) Like others, I was approached in a Bass Pro shop with what seemed like a great deal: go on a weekend getaway a couple of hours from home, then get gifts totaling the amount paid (Bass Pro gift certificates)
We arrived at the location and were promptly sent to a nearby down-scale hotelok fine The next day we were scheduled to do a "minute" preview We arrived on timeand left four or five hours later, Bluegreen welcome kit in hand, after repeatedly saying no Again, as others say, they simply will not take no for an answer
How bad could it be? $10,000(ish) for 10,points But you can go all over the country! You can even exchange it with RCI to travel the world!
At 16% interest, the loan is now sitting at around $7,after years of payments (at $190/month)do the math: I've paid $12,so far, with no end in sight Over the course of the loan, I will have paid close to $24,
Alright, not great but at least I can actually use the thing, right? Here's where it really gets bad So far, in five years of ownership, we have successfully used it once One time For two nights Ok, so we went to New York city For about $6,000/night! I admit the place was nice, but not *that* nice!
I should also note that we successfully stayed in Savannah for a couple of nights on Bluegreen's dime (not at the resort, but at a nice hotel)on pain of sitting through a presentation, which, ostensibly, was to "help us understand how to use our ownership better" but really turned out to be a high-pressure sales pitch, asking us buy more points and double what we owe Luckily, we turned it downresulting in a visibly *** off salesman who practically threw us out of the place But we saved a lot of money and walked away
But see, this is how they get you: they sell you a packagesay, 10,pointspromising that you'll be able to go where ever you want! You'll have so much fun! Butand here's the catchthey don't tell you that 10,points is barely enough to eek out a night stay in most places at most times So, it turns out that most places actually aren't available at all, much less when you want them This, despite the fact that I supposedly hold a deed (or, at least, am paying off a deed) at the property
So, they play on this fact to try to get you to buy more points"buy more points!" they say, "you'll be able to do whatever you want!" they say Forgive me if I am skeptical
All in all, the resorts seem nice and it actually has the potential to be a good product But the problem is, they entice you into buying a product that you can rarely use
Returning to the 5,points per year: here's why it matters I recently attempted to book a stay in Charleston Our 10,points only afforded us three nights (well, we could have afforded four, but four weren't availableshock) But here's the catchyou can't use saved points for "high red" (aka extra busy) seasons! What are saved points, you ask? Saved points are points that you pay $to "save" from expiring every yearin our case, 5,per year So we really only have 5,points available at any given time, for a high red seasonand, guess what? I have no idea what ISN'T a high red seasonbut it's rare to find them Virtually all Bluegreen Resorts are permanently on High Red, as far as I can tell I was able to get a workaround: even though I couldn't book it online, I called and kind of berated them a bit and they "made an exception" for me Thanks
So, again, overall I want this company to be good The product seems good, and could be good But the cost-benefit ratio is sorely lacking and the high-pressure sales tactics and dishonesty are galling For the amount we pay, we could easily book a Groupon trip every year, and get more time away, with airfare included
Caveat Emptor
I purchased a sampler vacation package Buyer bewareThe beach resorts are not available at all during travel timesThe Savannah location was not available for a YEAR this was a complete waste of moneyIf I cannot vacation when/where I want to, what is the pointSeems like the old bait and switchAdvertise the great destinations and then magically none of them are availableThey will not refund my moneyLesson now learnedSTAY AWAY!
We bought this horrible time share years agoWe have tried to sell it but with their restrictions it never happenedWe have finally come to the last payment and instead of paying it off they charged us a payoff fee leaving a small balance and proceeded to write us a snotty letter saying they see we tried to pay it off but they will continue charging interest and fees on the balanceWe have never been able to book anything we wanted no matter how far in advance, the maintenance fees and taxes are enormousThis is the worst choice we have ever made and has caused years of frustration and loss of money

I am currently a Bluegreen gold owner but would NEVER buy into this company againThey don't honor their word or their ownersOwner services may be the worst offender in the entire company
Do not be taken by this companyWhen we purchased about yrs ago through a Basspro "deal" we were told if at any time we wanted to sell, the company would buy back our pointsWe paid off the mortgage because of their exorbitant interest rate on loansEach year we pay the "Club dues" of >$100/yr plus the "maintenance dues" which have increased every single year; for example our "maintenance fees in were $586, in 2012, they were $and in 2016, they were >$ The representative who sold us this property told us we could "roll over" points from one year to the next, but didn't mention you have to pay money to "save the points" and further than we can use them only for certain times of the year at various resortsWhen we decided to try to sell this mess in 2007, as it's become way too expensive for retired people, we were told we could sell only through Pinnacle Vacations CompanyWe pay their fee and then found that they just list it on the internet for a year; we never received one offerI will say that most of the places we have stayed have been nice to very nice Wikipedia has a description of Bluegreen that makes it sound wonderful so I think it was written by the corporation itself Thank Boca Raton Revdex.com for not accrediting this sham corporation
I was in the *** in Springfield MO and signed up for a vacation package with this company On 10/24/I attended their presentation and signed all the paperwork for $10, For $I also received a night stay in Pigeon Forge TN with a $gift card to *** During the presentation it took hours before we left I left as I thought this was taking too long and told them I was cancelling my contract They returned all the paperwork to me The sales person was good and don't have a problem with him I felt discriminated against because I purchased a lssser amount in a package deal They were trying to talk us into a $20,deal I have not discovered any charge on my credit card The presentation was in Pigeon Forge, TN
This is the worst company on the face of the earthI've been paying on a year mortgage for about years nowJust got off the phone with a rep who told me:
"Conference calls are not allowed." I said what? I had the wife on the phone with me so she could have inputThey flat out told me they couldn't talk to meSo I hung up and called back
I'm paying them $20,for this privilege (including interest), plus $a year in maintenance fees
Want to know why Bluegreen is the worst company on earth? Let me spell it out for you
I have what they call a 10,point planBut that's a lieIt's actually a 5,point a year plan
They give me 5,a yearYou can roll over the first year to the next, but only every yearsIt starts over
If you book something you'll often find that what you're trying to book is in "high red" or "ultra high red" seasonsBUT you can only use the 5,points from THIS yearIf you book something in high or ultra high, they will take your newest points and leave you with the old points, which can only be used for NON-high red and ultra high redRep on the phone just told me now they let people use "future points" but not sure how that works....as it still leaves me with "stale" pointsThat means you get leftovers, and you can rarely stay more than 3-nights using Bluegreen points
Just found out from a rep that in order to see if what I am looking for is available on the website, I'll need to logon at 11:pm and sit there until the clock strikes midnight in hopes of what I'm looking for to be available
I refuse to take calls from themNever accept a call, never accept anything from them - nothing is free, and I think everyone knows thisNEVER accept a hotel stay outside of points, etcThey will have you sitting there for 5-hours while they do their best to grind you down to make a sale
They are ruthless, rude, and relentlessIf any company in the world makes my blood boil, it is Bluegreen
If you want to buy Bluegreen go on eBay and find someone else whose suffering you can take overBut I'm sure they've figured out a way to stop that by now
I would happily talk to anyone anytime who is considering Bluegreen so I can dissuade them and if I could save one person from having one of the most discouraging experiences of their life...I would feel I did something right in this world
If you are flexible and have no restrictions Bluegreen will wok out for youIf you only have limited or restricted time when you can travel, don't bother with this
We have found that if you can travel whenever you like and make plans ahead of time, Bluegreen offers a lot of travel optionsMy wife is retired and I work from my home officeThat means my home office can be anywhere, and we've taken the opportunity to mix work and pleasure at Bluegreen resorts
