the CVT transmission arrived broken. There was no extended warranty needed. Just replace or refund the defective part that arrived not functioning
Regards,

The complainant is requesting a refund due to an alleged issues with the transmission that was shipped on 9/7/2016. The complainant called on 10/5/16 alleging issues with the first transmission sent on 9/7/2016. The complainant did not register the warranty so per line 10 of the terms and...

conditions:  Engine or transmission must be installed AND warranty activated within 10 business days of delivery OR ALL WARRANTIES WILL VOIDED. Falsifying information will automatically void your warranty. https://www.swtransmissions.com/warranty.html Even though the warrranty was vioded due to it not being activated within the 10 business day window, we did send the complaintant another transmission as a form of goodwill and good customer service. We also covered the shipping cost which normally is charged as well. We feel we went above and beyond as we did not have to send out a replacement transmission due to the terms and conditions of the warranty but in this instance, we did. This should satisfy this matter and deem it closed.

Mr [redacted] had ordered a5.4l engine from us back on April 6, 2015 for a 2006 Ford F-150 and it was sent out to him in a timely manner. He had called us to say the engine did not come with spark plugs. However none of our engines come with spark plugs and neither do we advertise that. We only...

sell used engine and recomend that you get new spark plugs. On June 11, 2015 he had called to report that the engine had some jb weld on the timing cover. Timing covers on a 5.4 engine are removable and just left on for convenience purposes, if he does not like that timing cover he can use his original timing cover. That is the last we heard from Mr. Yenchek. If he has an actual warranty issue he can submit his claim online or just call the warranty department, he does not have to leave voicemails.

Our policy for shipping/delivery times is as stated on the website: “On average, pending volume and weather, time for shipping takes approximately 7-14 business days.” The complainant called in on the 10th business day and wanted to cancel the order. In reference to the above...

policy, the volume of orders this time of year is very high which was explained.  Regardless, the complainant wanted to cancel and was informed of the 25% restocking which is agreed to when purchasing under the Terms and Conditions.  Therefore, we have refunded the complainant $2,160 ($2280-25% Restocking Fee) on March 7th 2016.  We regret the complainant made this choice and was not more patient as outlined by our Delivery Policy. We consider this matter closed as the complainant should be receiving the credit back on the card in 3-5 business days as is the policy of the majority of Credit Card companies.

The complainant is requesting a full refund of $3480.00 as the engine he purchased had not yet shipped to the complainant. After further review a request to have the engine has been approved and a check will be mailed out to the complainant for the full...

purchase amount and the engine order will be cancelled. Due to the order being canceled and a check for the full amount of the engine being sent to the complainant, this should satisfy the complainant and fully address the resolution that the complainant was seeking.Tell us why here...

I would like a refund. Thank you.

The complainant is requesting a refund due to an alleged difference in the motor he purchased and what we shipped out. Terms and conditions of the Free Warranty clearly state on "line 14: The stated mileage is not guaranteed and is correct to the best of our knowledge.". The Terms and...

Conditions of the Free Warranty must be read and agreed upon before placing the order and is indicated by selecting the text box as confirmation before moving forward and purchasing the part. We have no proof that the complainant pulled a carfax as nothing was shown to us on this specific engine and the mileage was correct to the best of our ability when the engine was sold. As the complainant clearly understood the terms of the Free Warranty, we deem his request for a full refund as void.
Please let us know if there is anything further we can do to assist in resolving this claim.

We apologize the customer has not been able to get through to the Warranty Department and should be contacted in the next 24-48 Hours regarding the claim.  We will follow up when we have more information to respond with.

I am being charged a restocking fee on a item that in no way had time to be pulled. And also I am being charged a 25 percent restocking fee on a extended warranty that clearly states is not valid until the co. Is notified of installation of the engine. If they do this to every customer, then they are making a fortune on cancelled orders alone.

I have attached a recording of my conversation with [redacted] Black which he states that the engine is still in house and hasn't shipped.  In our conversation he also states that I will be charged 25% restock fee and no shipping fee and a return of 1308.75 should be deposited into my account my next Friday 2-6-15.  He also stated he would be putting the paperwork on [redacted]s desk to cancel my order and be adding a note to the invoice to cancel as well.  All I'm asking for is for [redacted] or [redacted] to refund by 1308.75 back to my account.  If [redacted] and [redacted] are unable to open the recorded conversation I would be glad to play it for them if they would be willing to call me and clear thing up my number is [redacted].

Review: I ordered an engine from this company on December 9, 2013 - on this day I was told that the engine was from a 2004 Jeep Liberty with 52,000 miles on it - which was delivered to my mechanic on December 30, 2013 - and I have yet to receive any details or a vin# on this engine with any confirmation of what I was told that I purchased from this company. No paperwork was delivered with the engine.

Also, my mechanic had stated that the oil pan at the bottom of the engine was damaged upon arrival during transport - when I called SW Engines they informed me that I needed to go directly to the carrier which was R & L Carriers and they told me that the shipper (SW Engines) needed to file a claim with them directly. I informed Anthony with this information and I still have not received a resolution on the damaged part that was attached to the engine.Desired Settlement: I want the information on the engine I purchased. I am concerned that if this engine is not what they stated it was - what did I purchase - and I am also concerned if they cannot prove any details on the engine that I purchased - where did it come from? Please help me!! Thank you.

Review: On November 27th I ordered a transmission from this company with the understanding my sister would loan me the funds required. Due to unforeseen situation, she was not able to loan this money to me, thus within 24 hrs of ordering this transmission I called this company to cancel the order. At no time would anyone accept or take this cancellation, and my called was forwarded to voice mail. I left multiple messages on this voicemail and went to the web site to cancel this order and wrote out multiple messages in the contact section of this web page. After waiting 14 days, I went to my bank to dispute these charges (which is the waiting period required by the bank) on December 9th. After all this, this guy from this company calles me on December 10th and says "so you don't want the transmission?" I said NO NO NO. Then on December 11th I receive an email stating that they have sent the transmission. I have informed my bank, and am working with them. The business this supposed transmission is being sent to will NOT acceot this transmission, and it will be sent back to them.

Since ordering this transmission, I have learned of the less than desireable business practices of this company and have experienced for myself the numerous names that it is operating under. Somewhere in here this should be illegal. Upon purchase at no time was there informed information related to 20% retainer of funds if returned, nor is there anything on the web page related to this. There is something seriously wrong and fraudulent when multiple names are used for a business, and it's location not disclosed. On top of this the individuals whom I did manage to talk to were less than friendly, and as I said, they would NOT take the cancellation as any normal business would.

I am on SSI disability, and have severely limited income,Desired Settlement: I will work with my bank to secure the return of my funds, there is something horribly fraudulent with this business. Should by bank not be able to fully secure the return of my funds, I need assistance. I am told this will be resolved in 10 days with bank, which will be December 20th. I can not get my car fixed until this money is returned, and I am now presently without a car.

Review: My husband, [redacted], ordered MR2 engine from SW Engines through internet on 5/14/2013, received invoice order confirmation. Bank Debit/credit card was used @ $1,340.00. Made several calls and left messages to get delivery date; no one ever called back. On 5/27/2013 we went to our bank to dispute the charge as we had found this company to be unreputable. We then ordered another engine from a reputable company and picked it up on 5/30/2013 and began installation. On 5/31/2013, the engine from SWE showed up at our mechanics shop even though we had disputed the charges. Meanwhile, our bank took the $1,340.00 out since the engine arrived. On 6/3/2013, Clark talked to SWE and they agreed to take the engine back for a full refund. They never arranged the pick-up until 6/20/2013 after calling them again. On 6/25/2013, SWE confirmed receipt of the engine. On 7/8/2013, $655.00 was credited back to our account. Again we made attempts to contact SWE, left messages and they will not return any calls. On 7/18/2013, we disputed the balance $685.00 with our bank.Desired Settlement: I would like SWE to honor their verbal commitment to provide a full refund. Never did they tell us that we would have to pay for a restocking fee or transportation charges. No where in the invoice confirmation e-mail were these terms spelled out.

Review: I ordered a replacement engine for my son's 2001 Ford Focus. he is in the U.S. Army based at Fort Carson, CO in Colorado Springs, CO. The replacement engine I received at the garage that was to be performing the install did not pass basic leak down and compression testing. Here is the exact statement from the garage PTUNING in Manassas, VA by their representative Ken that would be performing the work. Hello Mr. [redacted],

I have attached a copy of the leakdown check results our tech performed on your motor. As we discussed on the phone, it looks like the supplier cleaned up the engine’s exterior but corrosion on the spark plug threads and wells indicate that the motor was left outside with the cylinders exposed. This would cause scoring and corrosion on the cylinder walls and possible bad piston rings. In a normal leakdown check, each cylinder is pressurized with compressed air. The measured pressure vs the supplied pressure indicates the condition of the motor. Any air escaping can be heard which allows us to pinpoint what is the cause of the poor compression whether it’s the rings, valves, etc. The compression was so bad, our tech couldn’t pinpoint where the leaks were coming from. As we discussed, I’ll have your vehicle scheduled to be worked on with motor that is currently in there.

Best Regards, [redacted] @ PTUNING

Therefore, the engine can not be installed. So I need to receive a refund and have them pick up this engine from the garage. I tried several times to call their number [redacted], but I kept receiving the message that the call could not be completed as dialed. Finally, I looked for a local number through the internet and found one that worked [redacted]. I tried several times. I was put on hold several times for over and hour and was disconnected several times. Finally, I got through to a manager who would not provide me his name. He said he would make arrangements to follow through and pick up this engine and provide me with a refund. he has never done do or emailed me back. When I do email the company this is what I receive as correspondence.

Tel. [redacted] The engine they provided had readings of 52/100, 38/100, 20/100, and 56/100. This makes the engine worthless for installing.

Regards,Desired Settlement: Anyway, I would like a full refund of my money so that I may continue getting my son's car repaired and they pay for shipping it back. I do not want another substitute replacement since, I do not trust them to provide a suitable replacement engine with low mileage.

[A default letter is provided here which indicates your acceptance of the business's response. If you wish, you may update it before sending it.]

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me provided I and the driver receive the bill of lading instructions for the driver and I receive information regarding how the engine should be prepared for return shipping. However as of yet (September 10, 2014), I have received neither items of information.

Review: I ordered a used transmission from them over the phone on 7/16/2013 for $495 with free shipping. The vin numbers/make/model/year was repeated three times during this order. They shipped the tranny to from Wis. to S.D on 7/18/2013. The auto shop called me immediately and informed me that they had sent a tranny for the right year and make, but the model was incorrect. It was for a coupe, not a sedan. When I called them they had so many excuses. First they said that I gave them the wrong vin. I asked them if I gave you the wrong vin then why didn't you question this when the vin didn't match the make/model. They said it was because the vin doesn't give you info like the make/model. I knew that this wasn't true. They claimed on another occasion that I didn't know the difference between a coupe of a sedan. I know that this was a mess up on their end because we repeated this information three times back and fourth when ordering. I have the paper that I was reading from till this day and I have confirmed the number I have written down. The only deal that the company wanted to make with me was for me to pay for the wrong tranny to be sent back which was $190, another $160 more for the correct tranny, plus another $190 for the sipping of the second correct tranny. This made no sense to me. I don't know why they wanted me to pay for the shipping of the correct one when they sent the first one for free and advertise free shipping. I refused to send them any more money and consulted my banker since my debit card was used to make the purchase. She advised me to sent the merchandise back for the $190 and send the proof that it was returned with a filed claim. The bank replaced the $495 that was paid for the tranny while they investigated the dispute. I just found out today that the dispute was denied, because they somehow covered themselves with terms and conditions. They did however claim to the bank that they were owed 25% for a restock fee and so much for the "free shipping" that was advertised for the wrong tranny. I have obtained an invoice that the shipping cost them $89. I have not received anything back from them and even though they told the bank they would return this percentage of the 495 back to me. Now I am out the $495 for the wrong tranny and $190 for return shipping that I paid for out of my own pocket.Desired Settlement: Ideally I would like all of the $585 back that I invested, but something tells me that's never going to happen. I would even be satisfied if they reimbursed me for the $495 since I sent the product back. If nothing else they could at least send me what they felt they owed me(495-25%for restocking fee/shipping). I really feel like they are luring people in and purposely sending the wrong product in an attempt to have them send in more money. I have been researching this company on the internet since all this started and have found at least four other stories that tell this exact scenario. When I use to try and call them to discuss the situation and work something out they were very rude and at one point even hung up on me.

Mr [redacted] had ordered a 2000 Wrangler 2.5 engine on July 6, 2015 and as far as we know that is what was sent out to him. He had called us on July 29, 2015 to report that we had sent a Ford engine, we however did not receive any pictures of this engine yet and are still waiting for the engine to get back to us to investigate and see if there was some sort of mix up. Mr. [redacted] has now disputed his purchase on his charge card and has all of his money back.

Review: I ordered a motor from these people on the 7th of August anf the following day cancelled it, as of todays date of august 13th still have not received a refund back to my bank the email in reply to me asking for this was to be called and it and a moran by they order person I have been dealing with. these people are crooks and con men and need to be put out of businessDesired Settlement: I wish my money to be refunded back to my bank as I cancelled this in a very timely fashion even before the motor was sent, I am a retired Marine Corp major and this is a great deal of money when you live on pension

Review: I ordered a transmission over the phone from this company. I never did get an email confirming the order. The wrong transmission was shipped to the mechanic's address. When I called to return it, they told me the shipping bill was going to be $300 (APPROX.). I expected a refund for the transmission to be $925, minus the shipping. My credit card was only refunded $343.75. I called and left several messages. When I called sales and told them the issue, they transferred me to a voice mail that was never answered. I finally managed to get someone to talk to me. He said that I had not read the small print and that they only refunded 25% of the cost of the transmission. The fact that they are so hard to reach indicates that they are avoiding doing what is right. Since I have paid shipping charges in both directions they will have a transmission which was never even installed to sell again to another unsuspecting customer.Desired Settlement: At the least I hope this is another warning to future consumers. I request you give them the lowest and most negative rating at your disposal so that no one else is duped by these dishonest and unethical people.
