Our office recently received your correspondence of September 21 2017, regarding the abovementioned consumer's personal credit report.Using the identification information you provided, we are unable to locate a credit record for the above mentioned Consumer. The consumer either has no credit history...

or additional identification information is needed in order to access the credit information. Please forward the consumer's specific disputes along with the consumer's complete identification information (Social Security number, full name, current address previous addresses in the last two years and date of birth).Please include one copy of a government issued identification card, such as a driver's license, state ID card, etc. and one Copy of a utility bill, bank or insurance statement, etc.We understand the Consumer's concern and hope we can answer their questions regarding this matter.Equifax announced on September 7th that they recently discovered a data breach in their system that affected a large number of consumers. As with any data breach, this is an unfortunate situation for impacted consumers. To be clear, this is an Equifax incident and unrelated to Experian. We have no indication, nor any reason to believe we were affected However we stand ready to support impacted Consumers as needed.For specific information regarding this data breach, the Consumer may contact Equifax at 866-4477559.Not everyone will be a victim of identity theft as a result of a breach but keeping informed can help the consumer mitigate risk when dealing with any data list:ach. When a breach does occur, the Consumer can take action by doing a few things.Stay alert. If the consumer has been part of a data breach the breached company may send thema notice. Retain all documents and consider any suggestions they may have. Also, pay attention to and retain any mail they receive that is unfamiliar to them, such as notices from the IRS regarding their taxes or any bills from unknown lenders.Initiate a Fraud Alért. When a consumer fears fraud may have occurred, but aren't sure, an initial security alert warfs lenders that the consumer may have been a fraud victim, and asks them to take extra precaution is before granting a line of credit in the consumer's name. Consumers can set a fraud alert with Experian. When the consumer request a fraud alert be added with any of the three major credit bureaus, the bureau they contacted will notify the other two and alerts will be added with those bureaus as well.  Monitor financial accounts. The Consumer can visit their online bank and financial accounts, and set up any alert features they may have, if the consumer has not already done so. This could help save them some time and keep them notified of any unusual events when they occur.Monitor Credit reports. The consumer can check their Crecht report for free once every twelve months by visiting AnnualCreditReport.com. Checking credit reports can help the consumer identify any unusual activity, such as new accounts, new personal information or inquiries. Experian free credit report members can check their Experian credit report for free every 30 days on sign in.Freeze or lock the credit file. Consumers may consider adding a security freeze. The Consumer can also freeze their credit reports with Equifax and TransUnion® A security freeze will prevent potential lenders from accessing their credit report. The consumer's credit report will only be accessible by unfreezing the account. If the consumer is planning on applying for new Credit in the near future, they could consider postponing the security freeze. Fees and re! Lirements for adding and removing a freeze vary by state. [ I am absolutely perplexed Experian's position. I am a victim of  fraud (see attached police report and FTC report).  Experian is explicitly required  under Sec FCRA 605 (see attached copy of legislation) to BLOCK fraudulent information, instead of conducting a regular investigation.  In refusing my right Experian has violated the FCRA. I will proceed to report this matter to the US Congress Finance Committee, the FTC and the Attorney General's office, as well as file suit for the FCRA violation. ]

This message, which will expire after 7 years, alerts credit grantors to verify the consumer's identification in case someone is using their information without their consent.Our records indicate that we previously conducted investigations regarding the Federal Tax Lien filed With the [redacted] [redacted]. In each Case OUs Wender Verified the information as accurately reporting Results of the investigations were provided directly to the consumer. If the results of the investigation are questioned, the consumer may want to contact the source of the information directly: the [redacted]Judgments, Tax Liens and Bankruptcies are a matter of public record. Although the court where the disputed public records are filed may not report this type of data, a vendor may collect this data directly from the court's public records and supply that information to Experian. years, alerts Credit grantors to verify the consumer's identification in case someone is using their information without their consent.We are currently investigating the information with which the Consumer disagrees. Upon completion of this process, we will provide the results of our investigation directly to the consumer.When a consumer disputes the accuracy or completeness of information on the personal credit report and tells us specifically why they believe the information is inaccurate or incomplete, we process the dispute as required by law. We contact the furnisher of the information or the vendor that collected the information from a public record source such as a court or other government office. We ask the furnisher or the vendor to conduct a thorough and complete investigation to verify all of the information regarding the disputed item, and report back within the time frame required by law. We review and consider the response to determine whether to accept it, reject it, or follow up for additional information. If, after processing, we find that the disputed information is inaccurate, incomplete or cannot be verified, we then delete that information, or modify that information, as appropriate, based upon the dispute and the results of our processing. If we do not receive a response from the furnisher or the vendor within the required period, we update the item as requested or delete the information, in Some instances, upon reviewing the Credit file and any relevant information Submitted to us, we are able to determine whether the disputed information should be changed or deleted without having to contact the furnisher or the vendor. Consumers may also contact creditors directly to dispute items reported by the creditor.
