At first I was a little hesitant to go with a online/large vendorWas worried that I wouldn't get great customer service and almost went with a local mortgage broker
Quicken could not have been any betterThere was always someone there to help me through the processThe online portal was a fantastic tool to use and was really helpful
Overall, I would recommend using Quicken to all of my friends and family
At the beginning of the loan process, we informed Quicken Loans that we had to be out of our current residence by 4/ They informed us that it would not be a problem and that they would set the closing date at 4/ That sounded good Everything went along fine and then approximately a week or two before when we were supposed to close, we received a call that they needed to back the date up to 4/ This was an inconvenience, but we were understanding Then, less than a week before the new closing date, they said they needed to back it up to 4/ This was now a major problem as I had already booked a moving company, requested time off of work, etc But, seeing as how there was not much I could do about it, I shifted my time off work, and called about a dozen moving companies and managed to find one that had an opening on 4/ And then, the unbelievable happened Quicken Loans called and said they needed to back the date up to 5/2! They not only backed up the closing date for the 3rd time, they pushed it on beyond the drop-dead date we told them about at the beginning of the process Not only that, they were totally uncaring and flippant about the fact that it was causing significant hardship The conversation was something like:
Quicken Loans:"The new closing date is 5/2"
Me: "That is unacceptable We have nowhere to live after 4/ We have no way to handle this What can be done to still make 4/29?"
Quicken Loans: "I don't know, but the date is 5/now."
I originally thought going with Quicken because I thought that a company of their size would have the resources necessary to get things done in a timely manner I was very wrong A company of their size means that they don't need to care if they cause hardship to a customer here or there as long as the bulk are happy And I'm sure it works for them The majority are happy according to their reviews But I have no doubt that given our situation a smaller lender would have put more effort to making sure they didn't leave us homeless
My suggestion, if you want to go with Quicken Loans, that's fine But, you better hope you don't end up in a difficult situation, because they will not go out of their way to help you
Although I succeeded in closing my loan from QL I am leary since I have heard some negative comments about the companyi will reserve my final decision after trying out their system of doing businessTime will tell
Do not use Quicken Loans for refinancing your home!! They will send an appraiser that will give a very low appraisal! Our appraiser compared our home, to homes in a different city, county and school district!! The home values, in the town we live in, cannot be compared to other cities, counties or school districts in our areaThis town was recognized as one the best towns in Texas to raise a family, and the school district is exceptional!
This will be my second time of dealing with themThe first time I did not get a loan approval despite making 100,a year and only needing to borrow 80,on a refinance of a 110,homeI wanted to put up a garage on the property yhat would have increased the value of the property to 150,but it wasn't a risk they would take and would only refinance me for the 56,I owed plus 7,in closing for the same interest rate I hadNo garage and I increase my payments by dollarsSTUPIDThis time I am trying to get my payment down I owe for years but with points lower in interest I figured year loanWell they started out and when they first sent me my loan statement it was a dollar savings on my loanI inquired about the garage loan and thought the new figures they sent me a few weeks later were for the increased loan amountWRONG All the sudden the loan for just HARP jumped up so that even with points lower interest I would now only be saving dollarsbut in order to save myself dollars I would have to pay So to save 10,dollars I must pay The earlier quote they gave me before I asked about extra money to buy a garage, would have saved me 39,dollars, in yearsAdding 30,for a garage they said once again,at 100,a year I can't afford the payments so denied me Oh major point I have no other payments but my house, No credit cards or car loans So without any extra money to build, my payments stay just about the same, even with points off my interestIf I chose to sell my house now I walk away with 60,profitIf I take the loan I pay 10,000, My payment will be the same, and if I sell in the future I will now only walk away with 50,It does not add up Going form 6% to 4% with the same number of years to pay off should have gave me a lower payment but not with quicken I pay 10,and keep my paymentCROOKED Funny how they said I couldn't borrow the garage money because that put me at a $payment, yet they managed to add enough fees for finding me the loan, to bring the dollar original payment agreement up to a month Now after paying for my second appraisal they are trying to say They don't think I can make a dollar payment so they don't know if they should give me a loan OK if someone who makes 100,a year can't afford to pay 7,dollars a year in payments NOBODY should ever get a loan They say income to debt ratio I literately have 92,left after paying my mortgage and they don't think I have enough to pay itdebt 7200.00? income 100,per year I payed twice now for an appraiser and never got a loanI think they are in cahoots with her

We found Quicken Loans Rocket Mortgage to be an excellent way to secure a home They were extremely helpful, commu,I cared often and clearly, and provided our closing within days Mark Grillo and Joel A lot were awesome Much more personable than most bankers Easiest closing we've had, everA++++
I was extremely impressed with the professionalism of the Quicken Teams I worked with They were able to retrieve documents (mostly financial documents) that would have taken me quite a while to find and submit I had actually started a VA refi with another company that sent me a list of documents that I needed to get and send in Quicken actually got of those documents and made the whole experience so much nicer
