My initial experience was fine, everything throughout the re-finance process went wellUnfortunately during my closing I was informed that the home equity loan I HAD on my house was being closed within the re-financing of my homeThat equity loan was opened to pay for my son's college costs and I directed my Quicken Loans loan agent that I didn't want that loan to be closed or affected in anyway, because I would draw from that loan as needed to finance my son's collegeNot only was that direction given verbally, but it was also given in written form through email conversationsUnfortunately my direction was not adhered to and the equity loan would be closed out if we continued with the closingI was told at that time from the gentlemen that came over to my house to close on the loan that this situation could have been avoided due to paperwork called a subordination that gets submitted to my bank (Fifth Third) which they would have to approve to remain the secondary loan lenderAgain I was told this is something that happens all the time so it wasn't nothing special or out of the ordinaryThat said I called my loan Quicken loans agent requesting he send the subordination paperwork over to my bank so I wouldn't have to close that loanMy agent once again didn't follow my direction and just insisted it could take a couple weeks for everything to go through and since it could possibly take that long he couldn't guarantee me the rate that I was quoted during the refinancing processBasically he forced my back against the wall and gave me no other choice but to go through the hassle of reapplying for another home equity loanNow I feel confident the loan app will go through because my wife and I have excellent credit, but that's not the issueThe issue is my Quicken loans agent didn't do as I directed and he really wasn't willing to work with me after the fact besides saying he was sorry for his misunderstanding of my directionUnacceptable! that's not what I wanted to hear! Quicken Loans got my business this time because my back was against the wall and I was duped, but I guarantee they'll NEVER get my business again!
For new home buyers I suggest you have quicken representative go over all the paperwork They assumed I knew more than I didEveryone who I dealt with was very helpful, friendly and knowledgeable
