One of the best experiences I have had about a refinance optionEver one I spoke with was willing to help with any questions unlike my old mortgage companyThey did everything I needed to get done, lower payment, deed change etcVery happy!!
At the beginning of the loan process, we informed Quicken Loans that we had to be out of our current residence by 4/ They informed us that it would not be a problem and that they would set the closing date at 4/ That sounded good Everything went along fine and then approximately a week or two before when we were supposed to close, we received a call that they needed to back the date up to 4/ This was an inconvenience, but we were understanding Then, less than a week before the new closing date, they said they needed to back it up to 4/ This was now a major problem as I had already booked a moving company, requested time off of work, etc But, seeing as how there was not much I could do about it, I shifted my time off work, and called about a dozen moving companies and managed to find one that had an opening on 4/ And then, the unbelievable happened Quicken Loans called and said they needed to back the date up to 5/2! They not only backed up the closing date for the 3rd time, they pushed it on beyond the drop-dead date we told them about at the beginning of the process Not only that, they were totally uncaring and flippant about the fact that it was causing significant hardship The conversation was something like:
Quicken Loans:"The new closing date is 5/2"
Me: "That is unacceptable We have nowhere to live after 4/ We have no way to handle this What can be done to still make 4/29?"
Quicken Loans: "I don't know, but the date is 5/now."
I originally thought going with Quicken because I thought that a company of their size would have the resources necessary to get things done in a timely manner I was very wrong A company of their size means that they don't need to care if they cause hardship to a customer here or there as long as the bulk are happy And I'm sure it works for them The majority are happy according to their reviews But I have no doubt that given our situation a smaller lender would have put more effort to making sure they didn't leave us homeless
My suggestion, if you want to go with Quicken Loans, that's fine But, you better hope you don't end up in a difficult situation, because they will not go out of their way to help you
I was offer a FHA loan and QL my FICO was not the best but it was what I needed to get the loan but after days and days and days and days and days of given my time and efforts to please the underwriters I was told some BS if this how you treat all disable Vets at your company, there is a lot more I can say but so I WILL END WITH THIS I AM A NAVY VET I EARN THE RESPECT ATLEAST TO LISTEN TO ME
Quicken Loans provided the best mortgage experience The staff are extremely knowledgeable and provided the best information The representative gained my full confidence in the initial conversation making a clear distinction between the reliability of information provided by other sources
The process required little effort and ongoing communication kept me current Quick!!!
I am totally dissatisfied with operating procedures of this companyI did not received a statement in the mail and notified them and sent a paymentThey still notified to credit bureaus as a late paymentThis is not A rated service and with my loans with them, I will never consider them for business again

So far I'm firmly in the negative camp I'm doing a refi just to take advantage of a good rate environment And, we decided to shorten our loan term to make it better line up with our expected retirement timeline
I decided to try this due to the initial pitch and assurances of how easy it would be to deal with them Our loan is not complicated The loan to value is very attractive (we have a lot of equity in the home), it's a primary residence Both my wife and I have good credit We are both employed although technically I'm "self employed" because I am a partial owner/partner in my employer
In any case, the document requirements keep changing And after initial assurances that they would not need corp tax returns, they then wanted them Then they kept adding document requirements So, I get frustrated and start researching them online which I wish I had done before hand) and what I am learning is that they are totally untrustworthy and am now concerned about possible bait and switch on the final loan That is (if we get there) At this point, I wish I had never given these guys a shot and would prefer just to get a refund (they required a good faith deposit up front)
We will see if they turn this around with at least good loan terms But, now concerned as they apparently bait and switch often based on other reviews I've now read
