We were referred to Quicken Loans because it was 'easy.' I thought being online, we can handle all documents and issues whenever we had spare time
The process of pre-approval was quick and easyScanned a few documents and we were off and runningOnce we found a home and went into contract, that's when the nightmare startedEVERY single day, there was a request for new documents to be uploadedI was fine with that and understoodThe problem was hat they wanted a checking statement nearly everydayI clicked a button to link my account and give them accessThis wasn't enoughThey wanted me to upload statementsI did that, but was called every day and informed this wasn't correct and not what they neededI'd upload more, then called the next dayI uploaded more, still not enoughI linked accounts a total of times but they still were searching for somethingI had all the money for closing in my savings and it was untouched for monthsThey still were looking for something in my checking but couldn't tell me what it was
During the process, you get shuffled to many different peopleAnd they are just talking heads who have no clue what is neededThe underwriters submit requests and nobody knows why or what they are looking forEvery day, more documentsEvery day a phone callEvery day a request for the same documents I've uploaded many timesFinally, they told me they needed to see all checks cleared in my checkingIt's my checking! I use it daily!!!! Long story short, get your bank statements, tax returns and pay stubs, and go to a brick and mortar bank and hand that to themSit down and get it done in one dayQuicken has been the worst experience of our livesWe live in fear of buying lunch with our checking because quicken will see it and want to know what we are doing
As a first time home buyer with an excellent credit score, Quicken Loans has made this the most stressful and most difficult processes everFrom jump there was always miscommunication with my banker provided to meI had to consult with his supervisor or numerous occasions about the difficulties I was having understanding certain things dealing with the mortgageIt was always a task for myself and realtor to get in contact with the bankerI had to call in about that as wellWhat even prompted this complaint is I’ve been blocked on Facebook for stating my issues along with I have a credit score and I was given a good faith estimate of my interest rate at 5.625% where they charged me $for a point to bring it down to 4.625%! They also quoted me around $16,to close not to mention the 3% I put down with my builder! They couldn’t tell me how all these costs were calculated! I immediately began shopping around for other lenders and they couldn’t believe what QUICKEN LOANS are doing to people like myselfIt’s way more of things I can name but that was the main issueDO NOT work with Quicken they trick you by selling you on there instant equity and other things that sound good but you will pay for somehow in the end!
I have purchased and refinanced several properties throughout the years with various lendersThis transaction with Quicken Loans was the best experience to dateThe process was clear and streamlined, loved the dashboard to track progress and send and receive messages, the ability to upload documents (not have to fax or email)Customer service was top notch
From the first person I talked with to the last person, it was a great experienceQuicken staff were eager to help, knowledgable, answered my questions, and guided me through the whole processIt was an excellent experience!
Highly recommend Quicken LoansProcess for refinance was very quick and easyMost steps were done online Closing was completed at our house Everyone that we spoke with was very polite and helpful as well as knowledgeableWill absolutely use them for any future mortgage needs
I have been very satisfied with the service with Quicken Loans I was advised each step of the way of the progress of my loan Each representative that I spoke to was very helpful and understanding during this process especially Duane Gibb who was the first representative I spoke to during this process I would recommend this company to anyone that would be in need of refinance Thank you for making this process so painless
Quicken Loans was not only able to give us the lowest rate among competitors but they were extremely fast in their processes and everything was explained in detail to usTheir online portal makes sending paperwork back and forth super easy and the fact that they send a notary to your home to close is amazing! We literally did all this in our pajamasAll around it was a great experience with friendly and professional workers who got us from quote to closing within two and a half weeks! They lowered our interest rate by 1% and saved us $200/month! I'm glad we gave them a chance!
Exceptional Service! Very satisfied with the rate and closing tooThis is my second home financed by Quicken Loans, and I am very glad I went with them again!
I worked with Raymn Henany, Presidents Club VIP Banker, and he was on top of it
At one point I had considered going with the builder's mortgage company, but in the end, everything worked in my favor to go with Quicken
If you're going with new construction, like I did, be aware that some of those closing fees offered by the builder are fluff, and not worth the baggage they come withRead between the lines!

I couldn't be happier with my experience Everyone on the team from the Inhouse Realtor to the Closing Specialist was efficient, friendly and professional
Ok, beginning with the good, in the end things worked out well and as we had originally expected But still a neutral review is in order Our experience was more complicated than it needed to have been, and it seemed that on several occasions the QL left hand didn't know what the right hand was doing The mortgage banker who called and initiated the process was clear on what would be required, but once he handed off action to the next folks, it was clear that coordination was lacking This was a refinance of a QL loan and should have been simpler But the folks I mostly dealt with consistently told me things at odds with what the mortgage banker had said with regard to required documentation and closing costs We had also been assured this would be simple It was not And in one case an underwriter had an additional question (and request for documentation) which clearly indicated he hadn't read available documentation correctlyFrankly, it often seemed we were dealing with the B team, and intervention at another level in QL was required On multiple occasions we were very close to walking away from this whole thing In the end, things worked out, but the "amazed" we experienced is not what I suspect QL means in its advertising All this said, once issues were resolved, the process was very fast and changeover from old to new mortgage was very quick And I will say that the folks we dealt with took our many complaints seriously So, overall, I think it's fair to say that all of the folks we personally dealt with were pleasant and earnest, but the lack of internal QL communication and/or coordination was of concern until the very end
Difficulty understanding what I needed to doToo many different people to deal with and too much time running around town mailing ups things back and forth and sending checks to pay off bills when I had no idea where to send them
Just finished a refi with QuickenI've got nothing but good things to say about their people and the automation in the processThey were very thorough and responsive and left nothing outThis is the way any mortgage should go: smooth
TerribleOn multiple occasions they brought up last minute issue that have caused delays in the closingI understand things happen, Ive sold mortgages beforeThe issue is they wait until the last minuteSo imagine you told you boss you need Thursday off for the closing, and they call you that Monday, to say no, we need to push it out weeksNow you need to expalined to your boss about why you need to change daysImagine you have a storage unit you need to gives days notice, which you've doneNow you need to call, and say on second thought I need to pay for an additional month because we won't be closing on timeJust think of how many things are tied to this date, and how many you needs to now untieUnreal, and they act as they care, and say I understand your frustrations...sure I bet you do
The loan process was very simple from start to finish, and submitting documents was a breezeThe people I worked with were helpful and efficient, and I appreciate that the closing agent came to my houseMy only negative comment is regarding the appraisal service that was usedI was refinancing a lake property and the appraiser stated he did not have much experience with lake properties and appraised my house for $180K less than it had been appraised for one year priorEveryone I brought this up to at Quicken seemed to think it was no big deal because it wasn't affecting my loan, but it was a big deal to me
