This would have been my third time using Quicken to refinance and they have serviced my home loan for years so I thought they were the obvious choice to go with againWas I WRONG! I was told I would have $3,in closing costs, which I felt was high but I was comfortable with them as I had been a customer for years so I decide to go forwardThe date came to close and I had over $8,in closing costsFor those that don't know "origination fees" are nothing more then money going into the lenders pocket and I had thousands added to my "origination fees" right before closingWhen I asked them about it, they did not even deny they were ripping me off, instead went on pitch about how they can "close this loan now, get me out of debt now, and you would have to what days to close with someone else, do you really want to start over again?" I could not believe what I was hearing and still don't see how this is legalThey would not honor what they told me would be my closing costs and in the end I ate the $for appraisal and went with another online company, who by the way was great, my closing costs total with appraisal was under $2,with NO "origination fee" and I got a rate of 1/2% lower then what quicken loans was going to give and it took weeksDo yourself a favor, stay away from quicken loansYou can do much better on rates and much better on closing costs, and their "customer service" is nothing more then fast talking scam artistsThe whole experience left me wondering how many people they scam everyday, totally disgraceful!
We had a pleasant experience with our loan process However, it did take approxthree months from start to finish, which some of that was due to a slow appraisal, so it was not Quickens fault The only other thing that would slow it down would be the part that I would fax in what loans I would want paid, and they kept showing just what came up on our credit report I was wanting to pay off more than what showed, and not pay a couple that were showing (school loans that my son pays), so it got kind of long trying to get it right, but we/they finally did and it went well from there outIf you live in a rural area, like we do, scheduling a closing can get postponed a few times alsoBut all in all, they seem to be a great company who helped us out when we needed them
This is my second time dealing with a mortage company and I thought giving this day and time I would be giving better timelines as to how long things would take during each stage of the process. Another thing that confused me a little was during the communications process of posting on the app. message board I corasonded with different people regularly and even during the same conversation sometimes . I just know that I'm very old school in many ways and thought in my opinion that part of this transaction I felt more like a number than a person . Maybe I'm just being pety but I think in many business' today people want a more personal feeling or experience. All in all I had a positive experience and aquired my goal of fixing up my house and erasing some debts. Thanks for everything. Christopher J Olah
I could not have been happier with the experience from my first phone call to the closing Each step was easily explained, questions were answered promptly and the entire experience was very smooth and 'quicken'
Not the best place to go for an investment property loanInitial contact was great, but after submitting requested documents (some multiple times) and getting an initial closing statement, was shocked at the lender fees Inquiry gave only generic comments regarding government requirements, etc Advances were prepaid and too much time had elapsed to change lendersFurther, when final documents were reviewed the "phone application" omitted financial information that borrower feels would have been beneficial to underwriting, and possibly lender fee adjustments
For the Most part I had no issues with Quicken LoansIt took a little longer then I expected for them to complete the loan even though I responded to their request for information in a timely mannerThe only issue I had was with one of their fact checkersThere was an issue with my home line of credit and when I was speaking to the individual with quicken loans she was rather short with me and seemed bothered by my comments and questions like I was supposed to know everythingOtherwise it was fine
I want to share my experience with Quicken Loans I started the refinance of my home on December 22nd and was able to close on my refinance by January 19th The process was quick and very easy All of the people that I spoke with were very friendly and helpful If I could not find something they were there to help locate the form that was online They answered any and all questions within hours of me asking This has been the best experience I have ever had in dealing with mortgages
I am most disappointed with Quicken loans for refinancing My credit report was pulled twice in a day time span without my permission to only be told later that it would not be in my best interest to refinance to a year loan They didn’t even have my social # but I received two notifications of hard pulls of credit report and loss of points
